• Class 'org.springframework.http.converter.ResourceHttpMessageConverter' not found - how to correct?

  Eclipse STS is reporting I have problem with my spring project. It's a fresh project generated from the Spring Web MVC Project Template (File-New-Spring Template Project-Spring Web MVC ). When I create the project it has no problems - it's only once I modify the pom (by adding the hibernate dependencies) that STS then picks up the spring problem. Strangely if I revert the pom the problem remains. Also I can run the project on a spring tc server and all works correctly. Any ideas how I can satisfy this problem report? • Does Windows 7 RC handle non Windows Media Center remotes yet?

  I'm mostly a Linux geek, but while I will be trying to make my first Arch Linux installation in a virtual machine to learn and make my installation script for the true install, I need a simple OS and Windows 7 was better than Windows XP Media Center cause Media Center is outdated on XP. I tested it has a beta but my Hauppauge wintv-pvr usb2 remote wasn't working but the tv-tuner worked well and I haven't tested Windows XP Mode and my printer Epson Stylus Photo R300. Do someone know this hardware and if the XP Mode is easily supported?

• External USB disk drive cannot be remounted in Windows XP

  I have Maxtor Basics Desktop 1TB external USB drive connected to Windows XP. The dirve's firmware puts it to sleep after 10-20 min of inactivity and then the drive cannot be mounted unless I reset it via power connector. While in sleep mode I can see the device in the Device Manager under both Disk drives and USB sections. Is there a way to get the drive out of sleep mode without hard reset? Thanks

  Frustratingly, after a recent update to Windows XP mode integration features, the availability of shared disks from the hosts has been impaired. Does anyone know any kind of workaround or fix (excluding dropbox et al)? I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling as per http://www.sevenforums.com/virtualization/63710-refreshing-xp-mode.html#post568715 At one point restarting the machine appeared to have worked, but today again I am without access to my host. Interestingly audio and copy and paste to and from the machine are working.

• Eclipse throwing error when copying and pasting

  I am using Eclipse 3.5 SR2 for Java EE developers. Each time I press control+C or control+V for the first time after I open a file I get an error. After I close the error, I can successfully copy and paste. The error message made me believe that it was related to the Mylyn plugin, but I uninstalled it and still no difference. Has anyone else experience this problem? I also have the subclipse, adobe flex builder, and maven plugins installed. • Why does ICEfaces send dispose-window request on page unload when using view-scoped bean?

  in our application ICEfaces always sends a dispose-window request just before navigating to another JSF Page. as much as i understand this should not happen when having org.icefaces.lazyWindowScope set to true and there is no window-scoped bean involved in current request. but it happens on each link and makes our UI less responsive. but we don't have any window-scoped bean in our application. is that a bug in icefaces that the dispose request is sent when using view-scoped beans? Is it possible to disable? • multi thread apps crashes in release mode

  Hello, I'm using Visual Studio 2008 (programming in c). I've a weird problem I worte a program that has 2 threads that runs simultaneously, a recording thread (using audio card to record into memory) and a translation thread (using a speech engine to recognize the words). when I run my program in debug mode (aka setting a breakpoint in the code) it runs great, however when I run in debug mode or release mode (outside the visual studio enviroment) it crashes and give me the following exception: "Unhandled exception at 0x7c911129 in LowLevel.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x014c7245." • Adding a Layout to bottom of the screen inside a ScrollView in Landscape mode

  I have the following layout which works in Portrait mode: the Layout with the id LinearLayout02 is placed at the bottom of the screen. The problem appears when flipping to Lanscape mode, when the #LinearLayout02 is placed at the top of the screen. The question is how do I position #LinearLayout02 at the bottom of the screen in both Portrait and Landscape mode? • UINavigationController navigation stack problems in Landscape Mode

  I have a iPhone application that I am currently converting to a Universal Binary to work with the iPad. I have successfully implemented everything I need in terms of layout so that full landscape functionality is now supported in my app (previously I primarily used portrait mode to display content). But, I have one strange problem, and it ONLY occurs in landscape mode: when I push a view controller onto the stack, it takes two taps on the back button to return to the previous view controller!!! The first tap shows a blank view, but with the same name on the left-side back navigation button, the second tap takes the controller back to previous view like it should. I don't have an iPad to test, so I am relying on the simulator. The problem does not show up on the iPhone and doesn't show up if you rotate back to portrait mode. My app consists of a tabbarcontroller with navigation controllers loaded for its vc's: //application delegate - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application //....   i have a bunch of Console.WriteLines in my code that I can observe at runtime. I communicate with a native library that I also wrote. I'd like to stick some printf's in the native library and observe them too. I don't see them at runtime however. I've created a convoluted hello world app to demonstrate my problem. When the app runs, I can debug into the native library and see that the hello world is called. The output never lands in the textwriter though. Note that if the same code is run as a console app then everything works fine. When I compiled and ran this in debug mode the messages were redirected to the output file. When I switched to release mode however the calls weren't redirected. Console redirection only seems to work in debug mode. How do I get around this?

• Setting White balance and Exposure mode for iphone camera + enum default

  I am using the back camera of an iphone4 and doing the standard and lengthy process of creating an AVCaptureSession and adding to it an AVCaptureDevice. I am finding out, if I breakpoint and po the values in the debugger, that the default white balance mode is actually set to 2. Unfortunately, the header files of AVCaptureDevice does not say what the default are for the different camera setting. 2- This might sound silly, but can I assume that once I stop the app, that all settings for whitebalance, exposure mode, will go back to their default. So that if I start another app right after, the camera device is not somehow stuck on those "hardware settings".

• Problem when use compiled .A with simulator mode

In simulator, compile correctle with no warning and no errors, but in run mode (simulator) it crash with this error: Detected an attempt to call a symbol in system libraries that is not present on the iPhone: strtod$UNIX2003 called from function pj_init in image MyAPP. If you are encountering this problem running a simulator binary within gdb, make sure you 'set start-with-shell off' first Program received signal: “SIGABRT”. The problem don't wont to resolve! Is there any tag or property that i forgotted to set in the options? In other linker flag is there only "-ObjC". • Kernel Mode Rootkit

  On the other 3 computers in my family, I believe that we have a kernel-mode rootkit for windows. It appears that the same rootkit is on all of them. We think. We changed all the important passwords from my computer, running linux right now. On all of the infected computers is Symantic Endpoint Protection, because it's free from the university where my mom and dad work. In my opinion symantec is a piece of crap, seeing as it didn't even manager to delete the tracking cookies it found when I tried it on my own computer. The Computers and their set-ups: Computer A: Vista Business; symantec antivirus. runs it as admin, no password. IE8. no other security software other than what comes with windows. IE8 security settings the default Computer B: XP Home Premium; symantec antivirus. runs as normal user, no password, admin account with weak password, spybot, uses IE8 with default settings, sometimes Firefox Computer C: XP Home Premium; symantec antivirus. runs as normal user, no password, admin account with weak password, uses IE8 with default settings, no other security programs except what came with windows This is what's happening. Cut and pasted from my dad's forum post. -- When I scanned my laptop (Dell XPS M1330 with Windows Vista Small Business), Symantec Endpoint Protection hangs for a while, perhaps 10 seconds or so, on some of the following files 9129837.exe, hide_evr2.sys, VirusRemoval.vbs, NewVirusRemoval.vbs, dll.dll, alsmt.ext, and _epnt.sys. It does this if a run a scan that I set up to run on a new thumbnail drive and it does this even if the thumbnail is not plugged in. It doesn't seem to do this if I scan only the C: drive. I've check for problems with symantec endpoint protection and also with Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. They found nothing and I can't find anything by searching for hidden files. Next I tried microsoft's rootkitrevealer. It (rootkitrevealer) finds 279660 (or so) discrepancies and the interface is so glitchy after that I can't really figure out what is going on. The screen is squirrely. The rootkitrevealer pulls up many files in the folder \programdata\applicationdata and there are numberous appended \applicationdata on the end of that as well. -- As you can see, what we did was install MSE and MBAM and scan with both of them. Nothing but a tracking cookie. Then I took over and ran rootkitrevealer.exe from MicroSoft from a flash drive. It found a bunch of discrepancies, but only about 20 or so where security related, the rest being files that you just couldn't see from Windows Explorer. I couldn't see whether of not the files list above, the ones that the scan was hanging on, where in the list. The other thing is, I have no idea what to do about the things the scan comes up with. Then we checked the other computers and they do the same thing when you scan with Symantec. The people at the university seen to think that dad might not have a virus, but 2 of the computers slowed down noticably AND IE8 started acting all funny. None of my family is very computer oriented, and 2 of the possible causes for the rootkit are: -My dad bought a new flash drive, which shipped with a data security executable on it -My dad has to download lots of articles for his work Those are the only things that stand out, but it could have been anything. We are currently backing up our data, and I'll post again after trying IceSword 1.22. I just looked at my dad's forum topic, and someone recommended GMER. I'll try that too.

• Using PyUNO on Windows and CentOS

  Is there any way to use OpenOffice's PyUNO without using the version of Python that comes with OpenOffice? I mean, can I install a package (on Windows and CentOS) that uses the version of Python that's already on the server? I'm trying to use OpenOffice in headless mode so that I can do document conversion with a script (ultimately on a hosted server running CentOS) but my development work is being done on Windows and occassionally the Mac). I'm having nothing but trouble getting this to work.

• Good way to create PDF from Office documents in Java

  I'm looking for a good way to convert Office (mostly Microsoft) documents to PDF in Java. I've been looking at using the OpenOffice SDK but from the samples I've looked at it looks like this requires having OpenOffice running in server mode to do the work. Does anyone know of a good way to do this? Good meaning the less external requirements, the better. A 100% Java API would be best, but I don't expect that actually exists.

• How can I prevent an app from leaving full screen mode when I move the cursor to another display?

  When I have dual displays set up, or when I am using Synergy to use one keyboard and mouse across two computers/screens, I can't seem to retain F11 full screen mode for the top application when I mouse out of that screen. This applies to both the application and also to any Flash video that may be playing in full screen mode. Is there any way to retain full screen mode and mouse out of the display?

• Ubuntu won't display netbook's native resolution

  FYI: My Netbook model is HP Mini 210-1004sa, which comes with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150, and has a display 10.1" Active Matrix Colour TFT 1024 x 600. I recently removed Windows 7 Starter from my netbook, and replaced it with Ubuntu 12.10. The problem is the OS doesn't seem to recognise the native display resolution of 1024x600 i.e. the bottom bits of Ubuntu is hidden beneath the screen & the only 2 available resolutions are: the default 1024x768 and 800x600. I've also thought about replacing Ubuntu with Lubuntu or Puppy Linux, as the system does run a bit slow, but I can't, as then I won't be able to access the taskbar and application menu which will be hidden beneath the screen. Only Ubuntu with Unity is currently usable, as the Unity Launcher is visible enough. I was able to define a custom resolution 1024x600 using the Q&A: How set my monitor resolution? but when I set that resolution, there appears a black band at the top of the screen and the desktop area is lowered, with bits of it hidden beneath the screen. • cannot mount root filesystem on 10.04

  I tried to apply the recommendation of question: Kernel Panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0) After running that command: sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev I get this error message: mount: mount point /mnt/dev does not exist fdisk -l returns /dev/sda1 /dev/sda2 /dev/sda5 do I need to mount sda2 and sda5? Edited after @psusi's comment: /dev/sda1 is the boot file system It seems that I need to mount sda2 or sda5.
