• How to Use Local Image with WebService Data

  I am Using SOAP WS for getting the Data. I got the four Parameters in Response - Topic_Name, Topic_Id, Topic_ImagePath and Topic_Details. Now I have All the Images of Topic Locally with the same name as i got from the web service for Particular Topic_ID. My question is I want to use Local image instead using the Topic_ImagePath 's Image but the data Must Come From the Web Service. I dont want to use if ..else condition because I have more than 1000 Topics, any one can explain how I get the Path of Local Image and Display it with the Data Comes From the Web Service.. • Proper permission and directoy location for Git Version Control

  I am using Git Version Control on an remote server and I have set up a repository that multiple people will be using to push/fetch from. I have put the repo under /srv/subdir/git/.git I have been experiencing problem after problem it seems like. a) Is this location suitable for handling a project that will need to be accessed/modified by multiple developers and a designer? Or is there a better location? b)Do I need to modify the permissions on the subdir/ and git/ directories in order to allow remote access? If I do what is the appropriate permissions I should allow? I know this is a faily long request/question, but unfortunately like many other topics with well covered documentation, documentation does not always cover best practices. I would appreciate anybodies advice and suggestions? Thanks

  Hi, I am developing in php and trying to implement a download counter to count the times that users downloaded my application.. I also read the following topics: Best way to implement a download counter? Best way to count file downloads on a website and found nothing useful enough.. What I would like to ask is: what kind of download counter the big companies implement? is it when the user cancels the download doesn't count? Is it even possible - to count file downloads, and remove 1 from the count if the user canceled the download? I already have a script that works great - but only when the file is 1MB or upper, when its less than a 1MB and a user cancels the download - the download still counts.. Thanks in advanced, Din.

  is there a way to run gwt on a proxy loaded web page ? ex) using proxy script on myexamplesite.com that loads finance.google.com, and running GWT on the newly loaded page. I've been doing the above before I found about GWT, using LAMP stack + Jquery (UI), which quickly turned out to be crap and inefficient. All this trouble to bypass browser's default Single Origin Policy. So, right now, is it possible to overcome this problem with GWT ? Is it possible to some how, run javascript on a html page from finance.google.com loaded into myexamplesite.com's frame with GWT or other solution? I am not looking to do JSON or RSS related topics. What I need is high lighted in bold. Is GWT + Gears what I should be using ? Thank you.

  What is the typical format/structure for creating an administrative area in a Rails application? Specifically I am stumped in the vicinity of these topics: How do you deal with situations where a model's resources are available to both the public and the Admin? i.e. A User model where anyone can create users, login, etc but only the admin can view users, delete/update them, etc. What is the proper convention for routing? • "Voice trigger" detection

  I have a voice application that would be much-improved if there was the ability to use a "trigger word" to start recording audio. I don't need a full speech-text engine, just the ability to reliably/efficiently detect the trigger word. I am wondering if there are any specialized speech engines that support this specific use case, or any libraries/methods to developing such a single-purpose detection engine. Ideally I'd like it to work in noisy environments, but it can be trained for a single user's voice. Pointers to research papers / topics would also be appreciated so I know what to ask for.

• Application freezes when performing help file search

  I have a large C# application and a help file in *.chm format. When I press F1 to display this help file and select "Search" tab, type something and click "List Topics" button, both the help window and the entire application freeze. What's interesting when I simply open the *.chm file in the Windows Explorer, the search functionality works brilliantly. In order to display the help file from my application, I am executing: Help.ShowHelp(this, helpFileName); This method is executed from within the main form of the application on the UI thread.

• Warn user when new data is inserted on database

  I don't know how to search about this so I'm kinda lost (the two topics I saw here were closed). I have a news website and I want to warn the user when a new data is inserted on the database. I want to do that like here on StackOverflow where we are warned without reloading the page or like in facebook where you are warned about new messages/notifications without reloading. Which is the best way to do that? Is it some kind of listener with a timeout that is constantly checking the database? It doesn't sounds efficient... Thanks in advance.

• Implementing a 24 queue using MSMQ and WCF

  I am shortly starting a project, which requires messages to be held in a queue for a period of 24 hours, this is because the database can't have any updates at certain times of the month. The service also has to be hosted on windows server 2003, which means it will have to be a windows service. It is also required that the service use WCF so that in 12 months time when we move over to windows server 2008, the service can hosted in iis 7. At present I am wondering if MSMQ is the best way to handle this. I've been looking into topics like poison message handling & dead letter queues, but nothing that really covers what I am intending to actually do.   How do you calculate the linux process's Acutal Memory Usage and Not Virtual Memory Usage through the information supplied by /proc//smaps or maps or status or stat. To be more precise I need the heap usage only. I need to do this on an PowerPc based embedded system and hence I do not have utilities like exmap, valgrind etc. I understand the concepts of shared/non shared memory. I have read through the other topics given in this forum about the same but they talk more using the tools mentioned. What I need is the native way of calculation done by the same tools so that I may write a shell script for the same.

  I am the create_user() function that Django provides to create my users. Also I want to store additional information about the users. So I tried following the instructions given at http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/auth/#storing-additional-information-about-users but I cannot get it to work for me. Is there a step-by-step guide that I can follow to get this to work for me? Also, once I have added these custom fields, I would obviously need to add / edit / delete data from them. I cannot seem to find any instructions on how to do this.

My current interpretation is that sometimes you want to achieve something that needs to use a couple of classes but none of those classes could or has access to the information needed to do it, so you create a new class that does the job, having references to all the needed classes(this is, could be the information expert). Is this a correct view of what Grasp's Controller is about? Generally when googling or SO'ing controller, I just get results about MVC's (and whatnot) which are topics that I don't understand about, so I'd like answers that don't assume I know ASP.NET's MVC or something :( Thanks

• Android - BaseGameUtil Complicated Import

  I've seen many topics in stackoverflow, such as Cannot import BaseGameUtils (Eclipse weirdness) and Android: cannot import BaseGameUtils successfully in Eclipse but none resolved my problem. I've followed https://developer.android.com/google/play-services/setup.html#Setup - the Add Google Play Services to Your Project [Using Eclipse with ADT], I THINK my project correctly references the google play services lib since up to that point nothing wrong happened. Then, following https://developers.google.com/games/services/android/quickstart, I've downloaded BaseGameUtils but when I import the two projects [TypeANumber & BaseGameUtil], they came named as main and MainActivity. I've renamed BaseGameUtil as so and have marked it as lib and imported it to my project through Properties Android Library, but I can't extend extend a class from BaseGameUtil because it's not even suggested. Also, I have not installed Android L and Android 4.4W from SDK Manager in Eclipse, altough I think that's no the case. Can anyone please help in this? Thanks so much in advance

  I built an application with j2me polish,it works well on emulator but after installing on phones, I have some basic problems: At first why the size of application is big(in my case 1.5 mb),is there any way to decrease polish apps size(my resources are just 300 kb). For installing it on the phone, I copy the jar file from dist folder; Is my way correct?   hi, I've tried to change the redirection when I submit my edit-node form, by addming the following line to my template.php file, in my theme $form['#redirect'] = FALSE; I'm sure the template.php file works well because I have other lines in which I change, for example, the weights of some elements. But the redirection doesn't work. I've also tried $form['#redirect'] = 'anotherPage'; without success. What am I doing wrong ?   i've been looking the whole day how to setcookies in wordpress. in my way i found out (using the developer toolbar) that the cookie is set but still not working. i have 2 files the first contains the login form redirecting to another page to set the cookie and return to another page to check if it's working. domain which is tested on is like this : blog.mydomain.com. here's the setcookie file : <?php setcookie("user_name","test",time()+3600); ?> and chcking the cookie like this : if(isset($_COOKIE["user_name"])){ echo "cookie exists"; } else{ echo "cookie doesn't exist"; } i've read many topics about this issue but there was no clear answer.
