Where should I upload the JS file, make a folder like the "Style Library"? 2. Is there a SharePoint way to link to the JS file, like the one above for a CSS file?

  Install Shield Premier 2009: Basic MSI Project I have a dll that is supposed to be removed during uninstall. But this dll is being used by explorer.exe, it is used for generating windows explorer context menus with their icons(same as the menu items, icons we see when we right click on any file/folder and see the WinRAR items, icons). Manually, I have to unregister the dll and close explorer.exe from task manager and again run explorer.exe. Then I can delete the dll. So from Install Shield how to delete this dll without any problem(as we see while uninstalling WinRAR or other software there is no problem no message boxes shown and the related context menu icons also removed).

• Out of Memory on Update or Delete of Service Reference

  I have a Service Reference for a WCF project that has just over a hundred endpoints in my ServiceHost web.config. Every time I attempt to update or delete the Service Reference, it fails with an out of memory exception. I am running Vista Ultimate SP2 64-bit with 8GB RAM. I can work around it by going outside the project and deleting the Service References folder, then coming back in and re-adding the Reference. Is this the only workaround that you know of? Thanks!

  I'm newish to the python ecosystem, and have a question about module editing. I use a bunch of third-party modules, distributed on PyPi. Coming from a C and Java background, I love the ease of easy_install <whatever>. This is a new, wonderful world, but the model breaks down when I want to edit the newly installed module for two reasons: The egg files may be stored in a folder or archive somewhere crazy on the file system. Using an egg seems to preclude using the version control system of the originating project, just as using a debian package precludes development from an originating VCS repository. What is the best practice for installing modules from an arbitrary VCS repository? I want to be able to continue to import foomodule in other scripts.

  Essentially I would like to have a messages.properties files external to the jar files in my application. So that users can add languages and edit the files easily if my translations are wrong at the moment i use ResourceBundle.getBundle("package.MessageBundle"); But i would like to do something like this ResourceBundle.getBundle("lang/MessageBundle"); Where lang is a folder under my application installation directory. is this a good idea (if not, why not)? can someone point me in the right direction, or some sample code that does this thanks Alex

• Problems with deploying JSF project from Netbeans to Tomcat

  Hi! Googled everything, but can't find solution for my problem. When i'm trying to deploy my project to Tomcat, i have such errors in Tomcat log: SEVERE: Error configuring application listener of class com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/servlet/ServletRequestListener I tried to deploy it from fresh Netbeans 6.8 to fresh Tomcat 6.0.26, but the problem is still there. Servlet-api.jar is in the tomcat/lib folder. Tried to replace it with the newest, but problem is still there. No compilation errors. Everything is correct. Problem started suddenly. No code changes, no new jars added. Help? UPD: contents of WEB-INF/lib: hibernate3.jar hibernate-testing.jar quartz-1.7.2.jar quartz-all-1.7.2 servlet-api-2.5-20081211

  I am trying to create a small assembly program to create a folder. I looked up the system call for creating a directory on this page: http://www.ctyme.com/intr/rb-8144.htm It says that it is identified by 27h. How would I go about implementing the "mkdir somename" in assembly? I am aware that the program should move 27 into eax but I am unsure where to go next. I have googled quite a bit and no one seems to have posted anthing about this online.   I am using a WebBrowser-Control to fill in a webform and then click at a button, this currently results in a standard Download File Dialog (you get these if you download a file using internet explorer), but instead, I have to catch this file and save it automatically with a by me defined name to a specific folder. I am trying to code a little application in vb.net which download the Export-file from my wordpress-blog, and I want to do this completely without user-interaction. Currently everything works, except the downloading of the file. I tried to catch it with the event System.Windows.Controls.WebBrowser.Navigating(ByVal Object, ByVal System.Windows.Navigation.NavigatingCancelEventArgs) but I don't see where to download the file from :( I hope you guys can help me.

But the problem is these files are required to be picked up from a fixed source folder and then the installer is build. Also, these files may change any time and then again a new version of the installer is required to be created. So this needs to be done programmatically. The site has paths like this that return a page: http://test.com/operating We are using url rewriting. We want requests similar to those to be redirected to ~/Default.aspx http://test.com// http://test.com/.aspx http://test.com//.aspx We would normaly use something like this in web.config: <customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="Default.aspx"> <error statusCode="404" redirect="Default.aspx" /> </customErrors> The problem with this is that it won't redirect folder url like this http://test.com/*/ Thanks!

• Naming convention for the primary key in a Table

  Hi all, I am learning the Model relationship types in cakephp. I have built twotables and in one of the Table A, I got these fields in it: Table A {postID, topic, content} Table B {replyID, content, postID} And when I ran the web page, a bunch of error related to SQL popped up saying that cakephp couldn't find post_id. It is weird that I have already declared the $primaryKey to be using postID in the tableA.php under Models folder, but cakephp seemed want me to change the ID field to post_id instead of postID, because the error disappeared after I have changed the primaryKey to post_id. ANy ideas?

  We have a sharepoint based application that uses a custom database for storing metadata/files (which could also be on a file share) My question is how can the standard file checkin/check out option in document library be customized? The javascript file ows.js in the layouts folder contains the functions that provide checkin/check out/ open file functionality. Behind the scenes it relies on a combination of HTTP Post/GET methods + SOAP + an activeX control to achieve the desired functionality. Customizing these javascript function seems tedious/error prone. Note that we have a web service that exposes endpoints, for retrieving necessary file information/data from the backend. The difficulty is in integrating it with the sharepoint js functions, due to lack of proper documentation. (Also the js functions might change over different versions of sharepoint) Also is it possible to create files/open files etc from the cache area on the client machine from server side code?

  My digital camera takes pictures with a very high resolution, and I have a PIL script to shrink them to 800x600 (or 600x800). However, it would be nice for the resultant file to retain the original timestamp. I noticed in the docs that I can use a File object instead of a name in PIL's image save method, but I don't know if that will help or not. • precompile App_LocalResources in Visual Studio

  My web-application project (not "web-site" project) is translated to 15 different languages using the ASP.NET's built-in resource engine (I have tons of *.aspx.resx file in the "App_LocalREsources" folder). All these resources are precompiled by ASP.NET when I first launch the application and it takes a LOT of time. A LOT. 5-10 minutes. I have to wait 5-10 minutes every time I make soe tiny change to my code to see how it works. Is there any way to compile these resource in Visual Studio? Changing the "Build Action" for all these resx-files to "Embedded resource" does not work :( (or I'm doing it wrong?) PS. I know I can write a batch file that will launch aspnet_compiler.exe and manually compile the app with all the resources, but thats a "hack". I need a documented "Visual Studio"-way to achieve this. Cause I have a setup-project for this app in the same solution, that picks up the "project output" of this web-app (and it won't pick-up any manually precompiled files I made)

  I have a C#/ASP.NET website that has some code (*.cs) files in the App_Code directory. I would like to test them using NUnit. I have written a test file with the proper [TestFixture] and [Test] annotations and have put it here: App_Code/Test/TestClassName.cs. I load up the NUnit GUI to run it but it wants me to select a .exe or .dll file. There is none in the bin folder of my project. My project does successfully run and is built and everything, but still no exe or dll file. How can I get the NUnit Gui to just run the test in that class?

• How to be sure that my MVC project is running on the correct version after upgrade to vs2010?

  I just installed visual studio 2010 and upgraded my MVC project (which was running on MVC RC2 in visual studio 2008). visual studio 2010 updated every project file to target the framework 4.0. But the system.web.dll is pointing to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft ASP.NET\ASP.NET MVC 2\Assemblies\System.Web.Mvc.dll in VS2010 object browser, I have every dll showing up in multiple versions as expected (3.5.0.0 and 4.0.0.0) except for the System.Web.Mvc dll which doesn't show any version and points to the path I mentioned above. Isn't this namespace point to the Framework folder like the System.Web namespace? C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework.NETFramework\v4.0\System.Web.dll

• sql exception when transferring project from usb to c:\

  I'm working on a C# windows program with Visual Studio 2008. Usually, I work from school, directly on my usb drive. But when I copy the folder on my hard drive at home, an sql exception is unhandled whenever I try to write to the database. it is unhandled at the conn.Open(); line. here's the exception unhandled Database 'L:\system\project\the_project\the_project\bin\Debug\PatientMonitoringDatabase.mdf' already exists. Choose a different database name. • Unable to commit to Subversion

  I have a client who had to rebuild his automated build server. He checked out his project folder from my subversion server but is now no longer able to commit - he gets this error: Error: Commit failed (details follow): Error: Cannot write to the prototype revision file of transaction '551-1' because a Error: previous representation is currently being written by another process Finished!: I have searched Google but although this error has been often reported there is no clear explanation - does anyone on StackOverflow have a solution? UPDATE: Nobody else commits to that repository, so it was not a transaction stuck (at least not from another user). In the end we found that permissions were not set correctly. Not that you would know it from this message, but that fixed the problem.

• Share pre-initialized GIT repository

  We were sharing a GIT repository via file-sharing system (smb://) and got it badly corrupted (a power cut meanwhile the post-send :P). Being new to GIT, trying to fix it I made it even worse and I lost all the refs (left with the object folder). Since the incident I haven't had the time to look at the problem and have just been keeping committing to my local clone. So my question is : Is there a way to copy the local repository back to the location of the old repository and make it a shared repository in order to keep some track of previous the history ? That's all I could figure out (I'm still a git-noob), any other solutions are more than welcome ! Thanks in advance !

• iPhone Internationalization. What is the simplest workflow for me?

  Hello, I am wising up and getting my internationalization act together. Right off the bat I am a bit swamped by all the docs Apple provides so I was wondering of someone could sketch a workflow for my situation. Before I begin, I browsed some Apple example code and noticed this NIB file - MainWindow.xib - in the Resources folder: This clearly has something to do with internationalization/localization. Could someone please explain how this is created and where in the workflow it happens? My app is fundamentally an imaging app with a few labels that I currently programmatically internationalize using NSLocalizedString(...). If I set all my labels programmatically and wrap all my strings with NSLocalizedString(...) can I completely ignore the NIB issues? Thanks in advance, Doug

I use TortoiseSVN 1.6.3 on WXP and there is no svnadmin.exe command in all my C folder, where am I supposed to download these applications? Thanks!

• PDF permissions management with ASP.NET - Timeout Issue

  I have a website that has several PDF files. I need to have quite a few of them locked down with the standard ASP.NET authentication (in a folder with web.config that denies anonymous users). I set PDF files to get handled by the ASP.NET worker process and added: <add type="System.Web.StaticFileHandler" path="*.pdf" verb="*" /> to my web.config, but for some reason they hang when downloading. I've seen this issue before on an old server, and for the live of me I can't remember what I did to solve it. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks.

  Hello, This is my messages_en_US.properties file in WEB-INF/classes folder :- Login=Login And then i created messages_fr_FR.properties :- Login=frenchLogin Then in my JSF page i wrote this :- <f:loadBundle basename="messages" var="msg"/> <h:commandButton id="btnLogin" value="#{msg.Login}" actionListener="#{IndexBean.doLogin}"/> I can correctly see the Login text by default. But when i go in firefox and change my default language to fr-fr, my text still remains the same i.e i can't see frenchLogin. I don't have anything in my faces-config.xml What am i doing wrong? • Debugger does not break when debugging PowerShell console

  I'm developing a binary PowerShell module. I have a post build event that copies that module into the 'modules' directory in my "Documents\WindowsPowerShell" folder. I then have the project set to launch PowerShell.exe. My module is loaded via Import-Module and off I go. The problem is my break points are never hit and the debugger does not break on exceptions. If I run PowerShell outside of Visual Studio and then attach the debugger to the process I can break just fine. The other strange this is that my break points are not empty. Typically if different source versions are loaded they will be. I'm running Visual Studio 2010 on a Win 7 box. My module is currently targeting .NET 3.5. I've tried running both the x64 and x86 versions of PS with no luck.
