• Need advice on organizing two WPF applications within one Visual Studio solution

  I have a WPF application (KaleidoscopeApplication) organized as follows: Solution (6 projects) Cryptography (DLL) Rfid (DLL) KaleidoscopeApplication (buildable "startup project") Basically, KaleidoscopeApplication contains a bunch of resources (sounds, images, etc) and your standard WPF junk (App.xaml, App.xaml.cs, other xaml and code). I need to create a new application that is very similar to Kaleidoscope, but I'm not sure of the best way to organize. This new app will need access to much of the same code and resources as Kaleidoscope. Preferably, I would like to create a new project in the solution, then simply use the "set as startup project" to pick which app I want to build. However, will I be able to access (share) the Resources folder of Kaleidoscope? I know I will be able to access much of the code if I simply add a reference to the project and include a "using Kaleidoscope". But the resources I'm not so sure about. Is this the right way to organize or am I asking for trouble in the future? Thanks in advance!

• Profile service is not available in code in Page_Load within ASP.NET Web Projects

  Profile that is used for ASP.NET Profile Service is not available in Page code behind files like in Page_Load. It may be just a problem with Visual Studio installation/configuration, but as another problem, classes placed in App_Code in not seen in page codes. Even when I'm adding new ASP.NET folder to my project, "App_Code" is not available as an option. I tested the entire scenario with ASP.NET Web Project and Empty ASP.NET Web Project. This problem does exists while creating ASP.NET Website. Environment: Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate x64, ASP.NET 4.0, Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. What may be the problem and how it can be solved?

For example: - For each user of my ASP.NET application there is a folder with Word documents on my server - The ASP.NET application displays the available documents in a grid to the user - When clicking on one of the documents in the grid, the Word document is loaded in an IFrame which contains the Office 2010 web apps Word interface and editing of the document can take place - After editing, the document can be saved to the server, and the ASP.NET grid displays an updated status Would such a scenario be possible? And what do you need, e.g. Sharepoint, Office 2010 licenses?

  Hi, I have developed the SSRS reports. It is running fine locally. but after deployed on the domain server it showing exception XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: http://{MyDomainIP}:{port}/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx Line Number 1, Column 1: I have deployed these reports under the windows authentication . since I tried to give anonymous access so that I can access it, But in IIS I could not found the virtual directory regarding these reports. so where are they deployed ? I could not understand how it is not permitting to the Admin account to show the reports. Please guide me I am using IIS 6.0 , SQL server2008 R2. I am totally new for the this kind of stuff. Edited: how can we give the anonymous access to the SSRS reports? It should not ask for username and password.I know we can do this by IIS , but some how I can not found my SSRS virtual directory. how can i do that ?

• Eclipse does not recognize Classes of the jar

  I've included a new jar in my jre/lib/ext folder, and updated the Eclipse jre so the Eclipse see the new jar in the default JRE System Library. The trouble is that even showing the jar in the JRE System Library, the Eclipse does not see the Classes. And the worst: Eclipse see tha packages! It don't see only the classes! • File version maintainence via PHP FTP?

  Currently I'm working on a "plugin" that will be installed on many different sites and I was wondering on the best way for me to maintain the file version of this "plugin". Here's what I was thinking. Have a "master copy" of the plugin on a server, then connect via FTP to the target sites and upload the copy to their site overwriting whatever files they may have. I was wondering the best way to go about this. The "plugin" will have many different folders and files so transferring one file at a time will be too tedious. Is there a way to copy an entire folder over at a time? Or even better, is there a way to recurse through the folders and checking for file difference before uploading the new file? This is to make sure we are uploading a new file and not just the same one.

• Replacing xcode with macports software

  I have been trying to replace everything in xcode with stuff I can get from macports. So far, I installed xcode, then macports, then used macports to install gcc, gcc_select, gmake, elf-bintools, bintools, arm-bintools (just to be sure I replaced all the bintools), and then uninstalled all of xcode. I then linked /usr/bin/make with /opt/local/bin/gmake and used gcc_select to select gcc44--the one from macports. I also exported all the bintool executable paths into the .profile path. I was sure this would work (although I should have known better after working on it for 48 hours straight), but nothing will configure, and the log files all have the common error: :info:configure configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables I have a feeling it has something to do with libraries, but I am really not sure. I use a mac 10.5.8. If this is truely 'impossible', what parts of xcode to I need for macports to work? For example, I can uninstall the xcode folder without a problem.

  I'm building an integrated system where I am using Trac for wiki support running on apache webserver 2.2. I had this idea to have a folder structure that is not \Trac\Project but something a little more complex. I want my filesystem structure to be like: -Trac -SomeContext -... -Project1 -Project2 -SomeOtherContext -... -Project1 -Project2 I would like to access them with the url matching their filesystem location (ie: site.com\trac\SomeContext...\Project1). From what i understand about trac only the folders in \Trac\ are searched with no depth other than the root. How can i solve this problem?

• Add jar to EAR in Eclipse

  I have several projects in an EAR in Eclipse. These projects themselves have dependency jar's on the build path marked as "do not export, do not contribute to others". Now in Eclipse I add jar's to the EAR via the EAR properties "Java EE Module Dependencies". I browse to the jar (add jar) and click ok. The jar is added to the list. When I click apply, the added jar is gone from the list, it cannot be found in other properties, it is contained in the hidden folder .settings in the file org.eclipse.wst.common.component. This behaviour does not make much sense to me, what am I missing?

  I have a table which has approximately sixty tables, and other tables are added constantly. Each table is a part of a schema. A such quantity of tables makes it difficult to use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2008. For example, I must scroll up in object explorer to access database related functions, or scroll down each time I need to access Views or Security features. Is it possible to group several tables to be able to expand or collapse them in Object Explorer? Maybe a folder may be displayed for each schema, letting collapse the folders I don't need to use?

  I use the NSHomeDirectory() function to get the app's home folder, and write to the Documents directory within that. I'm curious, though, what happens when the user downloads an update for the app in the appstore? Will it all be deleted? When I delete the app on the device, then reinstall it, its wiped out. So, I'm curious to know what will happen with an update. I can't find this in the documentation at all. Thanks alot for reading. I really tried to find this asked somewhere else first, but couldn't. Hopefully this page will be informative to guys like me who are confused on the subject.

  How do I attach a file with a very unfriendly name (like a file with a session Id number in it) but have it attached as another name?The file has the session ID in it to avoid clashes name on the web server nut when I attach it to the file, a friendlier name is preferable. Is there a way to attach the file with teh unfriendly name as anotehr name so that when the user gets the email he can tell from the name what the content of the file is? I'd hate to have to create a unique folder just to put a common file name in it for the purpose of simply attaching it to an email.   Hi guys heres the scene - I'm building a web application which basically creates accounts for all users. Currently its setup like this the file structure: root/index.php root/someotherfile.php root/images/image-sub-folder/image.jpg root/js/somejs.js When users create an account they choose a fixed group name and then users can join that group. Initially I thought of having an extra textbox in the login screen to enter the group the user belongs to login to. BUt I would like instead to have something like virtual folders in this case: root/group-name/index.php I heard it can be done with apache mod rewrite but I'm not sure how to do this - any help here? Basically instead of having something like &group-name=yourGroupName appended to every page I would just like something of the nature above.

  I have a .net visual studio solution with a number of projects (class libraries and a web application). I did some refractoring which moved files between projects, created new projects, deleted ones not being used and renamed some existing projects. The solution builds without an issue but when I run the web application, the following exception occurs: "Could not load file or assembly 'XXX.YYY' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." The project called XXX.YYY which was deleted in the refractoring outputed a dll called XXX.YYY. But this isnt used anywhere in the application. I deleted the web applications obj directory and bin folder and rebuild but it still occurs. Anyone have any ideas when this might be occurring, any tips??

  the question is probably extremely easy to resolve, but I need to resolve it because I need to carry on with my project. I am using SQLEXPRESS 2008 at home, and I've been working on an ASP.NET MVC app that stores my DB in an mdf file in the project's folder. The problem is that the SQL Server in the Uni labs is SQL SERVER 2005, and when I try to open the mdf file with the VS Server Explorer,It says that the version of the mdf file is more than the server can accept. The only oprion that comes to my mind is exporting the DB as an sql file, just like I've done it thousand times with phpmyadmin. the thing is that the SQL MANAGEMENT STUDIO EXPRESS is not the most usable tool in the world, and for some strange reason all the articles I could find in Google were irrelevant. Please, help.

  I'm working on a C# windows program with Visual Studio 2008. Usually, I work from school, directly on my usb drive. But when I copy the folder on my hard drive at home, an sql exception is unhandled whenever I try to write to the database. it is unhandled at the conn.Open(); line. here's the exception unhandled Database 'L:\system\project\the_project\the_project\bin\Debug\PatientMonitoringDatabase.mdf' already exists. Choose a different database name.   I'm using GCC 4.4.1 and GDB 7.0-ubuntu on Ubuntu 9.10. However, GCC won't generate debugger info when using any of the following switches: -g, -g3, -ggdb, or -ggdb3. So when I run the program with GDB, its as if there was no debugger information generated. I have created very simple test source files in a new, empty folder.   Hi, I'm deploying my WPF app with ClickOnce. When developing locally in Visual Studio, I store files in the isolated storage by calling IsolatedStorageFile.GetUserStoreForDomain(). This works just fine and the generated path is C:\Users\Frederik\AppData\Local\IsolatedStorage\phqduaro.crw\hux3pljr.cnx\StrongName.kkulk3wafjkvclxpwvxmpvslqqwckuh0\Publisher.ui0lr4tpq53mz2v2c0uqx21xze0w22gq\Files\FilerefData\-581750116 (189 chars) But when I deploy my app with ClickOnce, the generated path becomes too long, resulting in a DirectoryNotFoundException when creating the isolated storage directory. • MSBuild - setting a reference path

  I have several assemblies my project is dependant upon. These are stored in the Project's directory under the "Dependencies" folder. So something like this. Solution - Project - Dependancies FunkyAssembly.dll - bin - Debug - Release SomeCode.cs I've referenced FunkyAssembly.dll using Browse and in project.csproj I see <Reference Include="FunkyAssembly"> <HintPath>Dependancies\FunkyAssembly.dll</HintPath> </Reference> So far so good - except after a release build FunkyAssembly.dll is copied to the Release directory (not a problem in itself) but then future debug builds will reference this copy rather than the copy in Dependencies. You can see this if you at Path in the reference properties. This means that if Dependencies\FunkyAssembly.dll is updated the build won't pick it up as its referencing the old copy in bin/Release. Any way to FORCE the damn thing to pick up Dependencies\FunkyAssembly.dll rather than HINT?

  I've been having the following problem with my GoDaddy's server. I am using JSPs with the JSTL Library. My /WEB-INF/lib folder contains the following libraries: jstl.jar standard.jar My JSP looks something like this: <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %> <p>Hello! <% out.print(System.getProperty("java.class.path")); %></p> But I keep getting the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application Any ideas as to why it is doing that? Thanks
