  Hello all. I want to get the whole url from address bar, along with #, if any, using php. say for eg. my url is http://test.com/#/test Using $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] I am getting only http://test.com. ie everything after # is stripped off. If it is not possible with php, suggest me how to do it using javascript. Please help me out. Thanks.

• JQuery IE7 Z-Index Bug

  I built a Jquery dropdown menu using this tutorial: http://noupe.indexsite.org/tutorial/drop-down-menu-jquery-css.html It works across browsers except for IE7 (shooooocking). There seems to be a z-index sorting problem and the drop down menu shows up under all of my other JQuery elements. Im not sure how to set the z-index so that it shows up on top. I have thoroughly googled the issue and it seems to be related to multiple 'position:relative' elements. I've messed with it for a few hours but I can't seem to sort it out. I have already tried defining z-index for all the different page elements but it doesn't seem t help the situation. Also, I know there are other IE7 issues, but Im pretty confident that I can solve those as they are standard IE padding/margins nonsense.

• Relative Resizing of Forms in C#

  What is the magic that makes components cling to the edges of a form? I had thought that one must use the resize event of the form and them force each element in the form to resize. But then I saw some sample code which, even when I am editing the form, the elements seem to adhere to a percentage of the space they take up in the form rather than a set diminsion. In other words, when I am editing the form and resizing it, the panels and the parts inside the form bend their shape such that the edges remain a few pixels from the edges. But in my own program I have not been able to find where I can duplicate this feature. Here's the situation: I can run Report Builder from localhost My coworker can run Report Builder on his Vista computer Another coworker can run Report Builder on his XP SP3 computer (IE7) I can NOT run Report Builder on my XP SP3 computer (IE7) I'm told that it could be anything from an errant registry entry to a group policy problem.   OK, I understand what the messages means, but I'm really not sure what's causing it. I'm using Safari and the Web Inspector on Mac OS X, by the way. I've got the following in my document head: <script src="http://local.url/a/js/jquery.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://local.url/a/js/jquery.inplace.js" type="text/javascript"></script> jquery.js is handled fine, but the other file causes the warning. It also seems that the javascript in this file never gets executed. The file is being served via mod_deflate, so it is gzip encoded, but so is the other file. Has anybody got any ideas what's causing this, or how to resolve it? Cheers all, Gaz.

  Hi, I'm trying to get a page with an ISO-8859-1 encoding clicking on a link, so the code is similar to this: page_result = page.link_with( :text => 'link_text' ).click So far I get the result with a wrong encoding, so I see characters like: 'T?tulo:' instead of 'Título:' I've tried several approaches, including: Stating the encoding in the first request using the agent like: @page_search = @agent.get( :url => 'http://www.server.com', :headers => { 'Accept-Charset' => 'ISO-8859-1' } ) Stating the encoding for the page itself page_result.encoding = 'ISO-8859-1' But I must be doing something wrong: a simple puts always show the wrong characters. Do you know how to state the encoding? • Asyncronus javascript rendering widgets

  Hey all, I'm creating a javascript widget so third partys (web designers) can post a link on their website and it will render the widget on their site. Currently, I'm doing this with just a script link tag: <div class="some_random_div_in_html_body"> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://remotehost.com/link/to/widget.js'></script> </div> However, this has the side-effect of slowing down a thrid party's website render times of the page if my site is under a load. Therefore, I'd like the third party website to request the widget link from my site asyncronously and then render it on their site when the widget link loads completely. The Google Analytics javascript snippet seems to have a nice bit of asyncronous code that does a nice async request to model off of, but I'm wondering if I can modify it so that it will render content on the third party's site.   Hi, I've tried to user HandVU with OpenCV but when I tried to run "hvOpenCV config/default.conductor" I get a "Segmentation fault".   Hi there, For my site I have a number of Orders each of which contains a number of Quotes. A quote is always tied to an individual order, so in the quotes controller I add a quote with reference to it's order: function add($orderId) { // funtion here } And the calling URL looks a bit like http://www.example.com/quotes/add/1 It occurred to me the URLs would make more sense if they looked a bit more like http://www.example.com/orders/1/quotes/add As the quote is being added to order 1.   I have a problem with rendering my html page by the same browsers in different OS. There are 3 spans and position of each span is corrected through css(position:relative). But I have found out that the page that looks correct in firefox under Linux, shows not right at the same firefox(3.5.7) under Windows OS. • Android relative layout problem

  Hello! I just can't display the button at the bottom of the screen. I have 2 textviews and 2 edittexts set as gone, and they become visible when user clicks checkbox. • WCF binding programatically and adding metadata excange

  Hi, My problem is im trying to enable mex on a service that uses net.tcp binding. that binding is for localhost port 5000, when i want to enable mex on the same port, and have it avilable for http i have to enable the HttpGetEnabled on the Service host. All this works well but when i try to add the binding it fails becuase the binding is "net.tcp://localhost:5000/test". is there a way to enable mex on the same port but with a diffrent uri? Without enableing NetTcpPortSharing. I dont think the code is the issue since i can add the MEX on a diffrent port through the code an it works fine, the question is how to have net.tcp://localhost:5000/test as the WCF tcp based enpoint and net.tcp://localhost:5000/test/mex as the http mex endpoint that gives the WSDL for the TCP endpoint. thanks, Totem

• How to mask tilde (~) character in C# MVC routing table?

  I'm moving my home-baked web site to MVC and got the trouble with url routing. The site already serves several links that contain tilde (~) character in the path; something like http://.../~files/... http://.../~ws/... and I want each of them are handled by separate controller, like filesController, wsController, so my route table looks like routes.MapRoute( "files", "~files/{*prms}", new { controller = "files", action = "index", prms = "" } ); routes.MapRoute( "ws", "~ws/{*prms}", new { controller = "ws", action = "index", prms = "" } ); ... but when I try to get the result I got the error saying "The route URL cannot start with a '/' or '~' character and it cannot contain a '?' character." As I understand those characters have the special meaning in ASP.net but is it possible to mask them somehow, at least tilde? Should I parse and route requests like this myself? What the best practice to handle urls like this? Thanks!

• Overwrite the Soap Envelope in Suds python

  Hello, I have a camera and I am trying to connect to it vis suds. I have tried to send raw xml and have found that the only thing stopping the xml suds from working is an incorrect Soap envelope namespace. The envelope namespace is: xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" and I want to rewrite it to: xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" In order to add a namespace in python I try this code: message = Element('Element_name').addPrefix(p='SOAP-ENC', u='www.w3.org/ENC') But when I add the SOAP-ENV to the namespace it doesn't write as it is hardcoded into the suds bindings. Is there a way to overwrite this in suds? Thanks for any help.
