You can see it here: http://dealmob.de/index_dev.html when u hover over the menu up and down fast u see the that its not staying, insteads its flickering like you would change the margins/paddings by few pixels.   • getJSON and variable scope in javascript

In order to make function calls to our back-end php code we've implemented something called an ActionProxy like this: function ActionProxy(action, input, callback){ $.post("ActionProxy.php?method="+action, { data: input}, function(data, textStatus, XMLHttpRequest){ //return data.ResponseWhatever } }); The problem we're having is that using data outside the ActionProxy is impossible due to variable scope limitations (we assume), setting var res = data.ResponseWhatever or return data.ResponseWhatever is pretty futile. How would one handle these responses most appropriately so that functions calling the actionproxy can access the response values?

I have a textbox with a keyup event that filters the tag cloud div (It actually just hides the tags if not in filter condition).     How would one go about detecting what has been selected on a page in a browser? Example: Click, hold, select 3 words and 1 image on a page, release. Sub-question: How to detect what letter someone clicked on? Without using: A span injector breaking everything up OR a WYSIWYG plugin I'm hoping this isn't just a type of browser interaction you can't detect. There could be many uses, but my goal is a simple 'live' page editor, or at least a way to know what someone is clicking on/selecting aside from just the id of an element.

  • Dictionary to Json object, "Expected expression"

    I'm trying to convert a dictionery into a json object, so that I can work with it in my front end. sortFields = <%= SchrodersHtmlHelper.ToJson(ViewData["SortInfo"])%>; However, I keep on getting "Expected expression" for this all the time and I'm clueless why. Could anyone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? Edit: The conversion works fine, but I still get this issue in the front end, causing the browser to complain about it.

I want to extract out each line and put the text values in a variable for each type. Not sure what would be the best way to do it.   • Overlapping elements stop overlapping in IE7 on class change

    On this page http://zenchan.com/program/ When I rollover the right box 2nd from the top suddenly the overlapping (negative margin disappears). What's happening is that a 'hover' class is being added to shift the background sprite. The two yellow boxes are debugging: if the hover class is put their in advance there is no problem. So fundamentally the CSS is not a problem for IE7 but adding the class is. Any ideas what's causing this. I've tried adding haslayout to various elements but to little effect.

    The site I'm working on, is almost completed. I have a Demo page created as well, where people can try out the product. However for first time visitors to understand what service the site actually provides I'm brainstorming with the following ideas. Since a lot of folks have been through this a number of time, would like to get some advice on what they use and what generally works. Here is what I came up with - 1.) Plain Slideshow, showing various features. (Using jQquery, hence figuring out a simple BUT professional looking plugin).Simplest to implement. 2.) Flash - Will have to hire someone. 3.) JellyVision ? - I'm not sure if this is free though. But something free like this would be great !

Also is there a way I can send the tags to a "class" attribute instead of "name". It seems to not work in Safari.

    I'm still fairly new to AJAX and I'm experimenting with Twitter and Flickr. Twitter is working fine so far, but I've run into some issues with the Flickr API. I'm getting no results back.     I got this little snippet where I call a Battlefield 3 stat server. If you visit this URL, which I'm calling, we'll be getting no errors: http://api.bf3stats.com/pc/server/?output=json&id=534f7035-cef8-48aa-b233-8d44a0956e68 But when I try to get the stats via Ajax call, I get: Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token : ... In my console I can see that the response is coming in, as when I visit the url, but I can't get the data with the ajax call...
