  • I need a simple slideshow for images of different sizes

    I'm looking for a very basic slideshow which displays images of various sizes. For example, the first image could be a standard 800x600 but the next might be a taller portrait image and so on. The slideshow doesn't need to have any controls. The specification just states that the page will be black and in the centre there'll be the area where images will display. As far as I know, it will be very simple like this - www.jeffcutter.net. I'm limited on time here so I'm not able to look into writing a custom one or anything like that. I just need to get some images displaying like in the example. Thanks in advance, it's much appreciated. Have a great weekend! Regards.

  • Overlapping elements stop overlapping in IE7 on class change

    On this page http://zenchan.com/program/ When I rollover the right box 2nd from the top suddenly the overlapping (negative margin disappears). What's happening is that a 'hover' class is being added to shift the background sprite. The two yellow boxes are debugging: if the hover class is put their in advance there is no problem. So fundamentally the CSS is not a problem for IE7 but adding the class is. Any ideas what's causing this. I've tried adding haslayout to various elements but to little effect.

    I have few texboxes, dropdown lists, etc.. They have their css classes. I want to select all elements of specific class(es) but NOT the last element from group of all classes. <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" CssClass="class1" ></asp:TextBox> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox2" runat="server" CssClass="class2" ></asp:TextBox> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox3" runat="server" CssClass="class2" ></asp:TextBox> I want to select only TextBox1 and TextBox2, not TextBox3! selector should be something like this $("(.class1,.class1):not(:last)") or something like $(".class1,.class1").filter(":not(:last)") but of course none of it is working :) any sugestions? tnx in advance!

  • How to resolve situation with jqGrid - not save value when move to next page

    I set new value at the last row and right col on the first page of the jqGrid. After this I move to the next page and see the same new value on the first row and right col!!! I am return to the first page and see in the last row and right col the previos value(not new one). The jqGrid is initialized with datatype: "xmlstring" from javascript variable who is set with "datastr" parameter. How to resolve the situation?

    Using only HTML, CSS, and Javascript, has the web development world got to a stage where it is possible to display a loading message on the screen until absolutely everything has downloaded before the web page is displayed on the screen? For example, display "loading", until all html, css, javascript, images etc etc have downloaded and can be displayed without the user seeing bits of the website still appearing after the load message has gone?

  • JavaScript: A BackSlash as part of the string

    Hello all, I have a JavaScript variable that I echo out using PHP which is shown like this in the page source: var db_1 = 'C:\this\path'; When I set the value of a text field with that variable like so: $('#myinput').val(db_1); The slashes have disappeared and only the other characters are left!     I want to know how many elements of a certain class appear in the DOM before an element that let's say has been clicked on. <html> <div class="a"> </div> <div class="b"> <div class="a"> </div> </div> <button>CLick me!</button> <div class="a"> </div> </html> So in the previous DOM tree if the element to be clicked is the button, and Im looking for divs with class "a" it should return 2, even though in the whole tree there are 3, but "before" the button there are only 2.   • Gallery with different image width and numeration

  • Attach an HREF and a class to an img link generated by the PhotoSlider script?

    Hi folks, I'm using the very nice PhotoSlider script from http://opiefoto.com/articles/photoslider to create a slide show of images for one of my clients. This script replaces a previous hand-coded Javascript solution that allowed for the large image to be clicked resulting in a lightbox modal popup showing the full-size version of the clicked picture. Of course the client insists that this functionality remain intact, but the HTML code for the large image is generated on-the-fly by the PhotoSlider script itself. This means I'll need to modify the script slightly to attach a class ("lightbox") and an href (or just a click event, whichever makes more sense), but I'm not quite sure how best to accomplish this. I figure the event and class will have to be attached each time a thumbnail is clicked, but if this isn't the best way to do it any advice will be appreciated. The script is implemented into my page as can be seen here, without the click or class. I'd really appreciate any assistance stackoverflowites can offer. Thanks in advance!

    I have a thumb nail inside another div, when the thumbnail is hovered I want the parent div to fade/transition to the background of the thumbnail, then fade back to the original image after hover.
