    - by Mike
In a unix environment, I want to use tee on a chain of commands like so $ echo 1; echo 2 | tee file 1 2 $ cat file 2 Why does file only end up as having the output from the final command? For the purpopses of this discussion, let's assume I can't break them apart and run the commands seperately.

Having a ls output like GGGG_3.0.3_98/ GGGG_3.0.3_d_100/ GGGG_3.0.3_d_101/ GGGG_3.0.3_d_99/ GGGG_3.0.4_104/ GGGG_3.0.4_105/ GGGG_3.0.4_106/ GGGG_3.0_87/ GGGG_3.0_89/ GGGG_3.0_90/ GGGG_3.0_91/ GGGG_3.0_92/ GGGG_3.0_93/ SSS_2.2.3_01/ SSS_2.2.3_02/ SSS_2.2.3_03/ TTT_2.8.3_29/ how to get the elements ordered by suffix? Also, is there any quick command I can use to know that 106 is the last suffix in this example? Sorry: it wasn't clear that "the suffix" in the given example is everything following the final underscore.

  • SendKeys.SendWait doesn't works

    - by Guy
My target is to send keyboard events to external application. From my application, I'm launching a C# exe (console application) that bring the target application to the front and uses SendKeys.SendWait to send keyboards events. I ran into a rate case were the command don't have any affect. When debugging it, it works but when running it not in debug it fails. I think it as something to do with the fact that when debugging my application is the active application.

  • How to fetch parameters when using the Apache Commons CLI library

    - by Mridang Agarwalla
I'm using the Apache Commons CLI to handle command line arguments in Java. I've figured out my way around it to a decent extent but I need a little help. I've declared the a and b options and I'm able to access the value using CommandLine.getOptionValue. Usage: myapp [OPTION] [DIRECTORY] Options: -a Option A -b Option B How do I declare and access the DIRECTORY variable? Thank you.

  • Creating a wine static executable?

    - by asdf
Hi, I have some windows command line applications, in binary form (I do not have the source code) which I use frequently. Sometimes I need to run them in Linux machines, and it works perfectly under wine (wine is not an emulator). The problem I'm facing now is that I need to work on a cluster which has not wine installed on it. I wonder if it is possible to create in another similar linux machine kind of a static executable or so, so i can run this windows program on the cluster Thanks

  • Clean Stack Traces in Groovy using Eclipse?

    - by yar
I am using Groovy in a Java Swing application as part of my plan to force-feed myself dynamic languages until I like them (which is happening, partly). My stack traces are filled with Groovy stuff like org.codehaus.groovy.runtime.callsite.ConstructorSite$ConstructorSiteNoUnwrapNoCoerce.callConstructor is there a way to get Eclipse to remove all of that codehaus stuff (filter stack traces, basically)? Edit: I can do this from the command-line with grep (well, not yet) so it's not so bad, but inside of Eclipse would be great too.

I am trying to package a com dll in an msi. I want the setup to run a batch file afterwards. The batch file basically points to the WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 folder and runs the regasm command to register the assembly. How do I get the setup to do this? Thanks.

  • Where to find prebuilt binaries for subversion 1.6 for Ubuntu (or Debian)?

    - by Andrea Francia
While I can easily find the binaries for the latest version of subversion (1.6) I can't find the binaries for Ubuntu (or Debian). The download page at tigris.org suggest to use the command: apt-get install subversion but as you can experience this will install up to the version 1.5.4 (at the time of writing May 6, 2009). This isn't a nice thing because many working copies that I share with Windows are automatically updated to 1.6 by TortoiseSVN.

  • Redirecting one file to another using dub2 and strtok

    - by Sergiy Zakharov
OK, here goes. I have to write a program, in which I need to use strtok and dup2 to redirect one file to another, but I need to also have the user to actually put the command cat < file1 file2, but not from the shell, but instead by using my program. That's why I need strtok. And the reason my program doesn't work is probably because of that, because I don't really understand how strtok works. I found a similar program on the internet, but they just take the ls command and redirect it to the file. That's it. My program is much more complicated. I mean, it would've been easier just to say in shell cat < file1 file2, but for some reason they want us to do it this way. So, anyways, here is what I have so far (here I just combined what I have found on the internet with what I already had from before. We had to do something similar but then the user would just go ls or ls -l. Very simple stuff. This is much harder, for me, at least.) #include <fcntl.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <errno.h> #include <sys/wait.h> #include <string.h> int main() { pid_t pid; char line[256]; char *args[129]; int i; int fd; int status; char *temp; while (1) { printf(">"); if (fgets(line, 256, stdin) == 0) { exit(0); } else { pid = fork(); if (pid == 0) { i = 0; temp = strtok("<",line); while (temp != NULL) { args[i++] = temp; temp = strtok(">",line); args[i] = '\0'; } fd = open("hello", O_RDONLY); dup2(fd, STDIN_FILENO); fd = open("world", O_WRONLY|O_CREAT|O_TRUNC, S_IRWXU); dup2(fd, STDOUT_FILENO ); close(fd); execvp(args[0], args); } else { close(fd); wait(&status); } } } } Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Programatically upload XML file to SSRS server

    - by xt_20
Hi all, How do I programatically upload an XSLT file to an SSRS server database? I would like exactly the same functionality as the 'Upload File', preferably using the 'rs' command. I have tried rs.CreateResource, but it doesn't seem to work for XML/XSLT files (though it works for Excel and image files) I understand that manipulating the SSRS db is not supported. Thanks

    - by notnoop
How can a Java application spawn a new interactive application (e.g. an command line editor) from Java/Scala? When I use Runtime.getRuntime().exec("vim test"), I would only get a Process instance, while vim would be running in the background; rather then appear to the user.

  • Is there a stable emacs automated packaging system?

    - by Zubair
I'm using Gnu Emacs on OSX, Windows, and Linux. Is there some command which can download and install packages (or .el files) automatically? I've seen there are some work-in-progress projects on the internet (after googling) but I was wondering if I was missing some awesome package manager out there that just works.
