• To use Dart, the Java programmer has to work with 2 languages? [closed]

  When deciding on a technology to use for web apps, it's become a difficult choice between GWT and Dart and I am looking for guidance in deciding. GWT is a java programmer's dream because they don't have to learn a new language or have to worry about a separate IDE or extra plugin etc. GWT was sold using this value proposition - one didn't need to program in Javascript. But are Google making a U-turn and saying "go through the hassle of learning a new language" afterall? Or is it intended for there to be a Java to Dart compiler so that Java developers do not have to learn a new language? (this is not a rant, so I don't know why you are down-voting the question) Note: "the syntax is very similar" is not a justification. You could say why bother with GWT and just work with Java + Javascript directly.

• What's the best way to capture output from SQL Management Studio and paste it into an Outlook email?

  I'm constantly executing ad-hoc queries in SQL Management Studio and need to send the results to people via email. This happens several times a day so I'm looking for the best way to copy the results of the query from the results window into an Outlook email body so that it can be formatted in a reader friendly manner. I haven't come up with anything that works well for me. When it really matters, I end up going into Excel, executing the query from within there and then attaching the resulting spreadsheet. I'm looking for something that I can do without involving Excel if possible. Any ideas?

But what I want is the MySQL row array from the mysql_fetch_row() call... What am I missing?

If the max value is repeated on that day, the lowest time stamp is selected. The result should be like: 18/5/2010, 3 pm 60 19/5/2010, 6 pm 450 20/5/2010, 6 pm 310 The query should take in a date range like the one given below and find results for that range in the above fashion: where date = to_date('26/03/2010','DD/MM/YYYY') AND date < to_date('27/03/2010','DD/MM/YYYY')

This query i supposed to insert two different passengers in a database on two different flights. I'm sure both seats aren't taken, but i can't figure out why the trigger is giving me the error.   I downloaded Indicator-Char and unzipped the files. I added the characters there I wanted perfectly. When I run the python script it loads the daemon and I can see this characters. But the problem is that when I click on them, not copied anything to the clipboard.   I have a person object. class Person { private $name; ... } I need to be able to change how they are displayed on the front-end ( visitors have control ).   I decided to improve my knowledge of template meta-programming, i know the syntax and rules and been playing with counteless examples from online resources. i understand how powerfull templates can be and how much compile time optimization they can provide but i still cant "think in templates", that is, i cant seem to know by myself if a certain problem could best be solved with templates (instead of something else) and if it can, how to adapt that problem to templates. so what im asking is, is there some kind of online resource or maybe book that teaches how to identify problems that could best be solved with templates and how to adapt that problem. basically i want to learn to "think in templates". already asked on stackoverflow but once again people just redirected me to resources on how to use templates, when im really asking is how to know when to use template meta-programming and how to adapt that problem to templates. thanks in advance.

  I'm primarily a Java/Python programmer, but I just picked up an entry-level job doing web development. I had to learn PHP, and several of my CS friends told me that it would stunt my coding ability/be terrible to program in/murder me in the middle of the night. So far, there have been annoying moments with the language (one particular thing that bugs me is the syntax for calling functions...), but nothing living up to the statements of my friends. I still haven't learned very much about the language. Is their hate justified? Why or why not? A few quotes I've seen about PHP: Haskell is faster than C++, more concise than Perl, more regular than Python, more flexible than Ruby, more typeful than C#, more robust than Java, and has absolutely nothing in common with PHP.   I'm having a dickens of a time installing Solaris Studio 12.2 on Ubuntu 10.04. I found this guide, however using the alien option isn't finding the correct files. I'm not exactly sure on the syntax of alien, its kinda alien to me. (sorry for the bad pun) Also, when I download the tar file, and extract it, there are errors everytime saying things like: "operation not permitted" cannot creat symlink to '../prod/bin/cc': Operation not permitted I've extracted with super user access, but to no avail. Any success from anyone else?

  Hi all, Is there any sql*plus command to remove \r \n and\t from the result set that's going out to the spool file? That is, "trim" every record? We've used set trim on in the past, but it doesn't seem to bue what we need right now. I'm trying to avoid calling oracle's translate, chr functions in the sql query.   Hey, What SQL query would I have to use if I want to get the results from a table 'messages' but exclude rows that have the value in 'messages_view' where field messages.message=messages_view.id AND messages.deleted=1 AND messages_view.user=$somephpvariable In more laymen terms, I have a messages table with each message denoted by an 'id' as well as a messages_view table connected with a 'message' field. I want to get the rows in message that are not deleted (comes from messages_view) for a specific 'user'. 'deleted'=1 when the message is deleted. • Delete an entity by key without fetching it first in app engine (using JDO)

  Is there a way to delete an entity without having to fetch it from the datastore first? I am assuming I already have the key or id for the entity. I'm thinking of something like deleteObjectById that would be an analogue to getObjectById on PersistenceManager. The closest I can think of is using Query.deletePersistentAll() (as seen here) and specifying a query that only relies on the key, but I can't tell if that is going to fetch the entity before deleting it. thanks EDIT: I know how to do this using the low level API, as well as in the python API. I was wondering if there was a way to do it within the JDO layer.
