  • HP ACU shows parity initialization failed (with screenshot)

    I put in a new drive due to a hard drive failure. When the rebuild got to 100%, the controller fails and I need to reboot the server to bring it online. I had to do this about three times and it eventually finished rebuilding. But I found that it says parity initialization status failed. I've left it for a few hours but it didn't seem to reinitialize. Then I ran the insight online diagnostic tools and it reported the disk that I put in reached read/write error threshold. So I'm beginning to think that the brand new disk I put in is faulty. Before I put in the disk, the parity initialization was at a finished state. Should I replace the new disk I put in? I'm very worried as I think the parity is broken. Or is there a way to kick start the initialization process?

  • error in IIS7 but not on IIS6

    I have a website that is we are now deploying to windows 2008 servers that has worked in the past on IIS6 without a problem. It is using .net 2 framework. Most of the website works.   • Backup multiple Exchange Accounts without direct access to exchange server

    For e-mail, we use Microsoft Exchange and it is hosted by 1and1.com. We have about 30 Exchange accounts that I would like to backup to a PST file. That is, for each account that we have (all 30), I would like to create a single PST file (1.pst thru 30.pst). I do not have direct access to the Exchange server. Basically, for each Exchange account, I can supply: The IP address for the Exchange server or the URL to the OWA. The Username The Password Is there a tool out there that can do this for me? It seems that Microsoft's "Online Services Migration Tools" comes awfully close, but it appears that its geared to pull data out of any Exchange server and push it into Microsoft Online. I don't believe it can be used to simply pull the data out and generate PST's.

    We have active directory syncronization setup between our on-premises AD server and Microsoft hosted Exchange (business productivity online services). I've started getting a daily error report, which details an error for a specific AD user, however it references it by GUID. I can't find any info on how to translate that object guid into something meaningful so I can find and fix the problem. The error is reported as: Error 005: Unable to set the alias for this object in Microsoft Online Services because either the primary SMTP address, the e-mail nickname, or the SAM account name in the local Active Directory contains an invalid character. in reference to the Object GUID: CN={8443cbb4-5199-49f0-9529-ce965430dca6} How can I translate that object guid into a friendly object name?

It was initially created with Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 but has now been migrated to Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V. The services start on system boot, but the instance does not start up.     Folks, I have followed the instructions here http://tuxnetworks.blogspot.com/2010/06/howto-ldap-server-on-1004-lucid-lynx.html to setup my OpenLdap and its working just fine, except an anonymous user can bind to my server and see the whole user/group structure. LDAP is running over SSL. I have read online that i can add disallow bind_anon and require authc in the slapd.conf file and it will be disabled but there is no slapd.conf file to begin with and since this doesn't use slapd.conf for its configuration as i understand OpenLdap has moved to a cn=config setup so it wont read that file even if i create one. i have looked online without any luck.     I need to be able to export user name or email address (doesn't matter which), company (from the company field under the organization tab in a user account of the exchange admin console), and license type (e.g. exchange online e1, exchange online kiosk etc...) I am able to export both values in two statements into two separate files but that doesn't do me much good. I can export the username and license type with the following: Get-MSOLUser | % { $user=$_; $_.Licenses | Select {$user.displayname},AccountSKuid } | Export-CSV "sample.csv" -NoTypeInformation And, I can get the company values with the following: Get-User | select company | Export-CSV sample.csv Someone on another forum suggested this - $index = @{} Get-User | foreach-object {$index.Add($_.userprincipalname,$_.company)} Get-MsolUser | ForEach-Object { write-host $_.userprincipalname, $index[$_.userprincipalname], $_.licenses.AccountSku.Skupartnumber} That seems like it should work but it doesn't display any license info in my powershell, it's just blank. I read online that McAfee replaces the script interpreter dll path in the registry to point to its own dll, which filters, and in turn calls the official "jscript.dll". I found multiples of these in the registry, and corrected them, but it still hasn't fixed the problem - JavaScript still does not work. I'm considering just reinstalling, and then re-uninstalling McAfee to fix it. However, for the record, I still want to know if anyone has, or can provide an online list of all the changes McAfee makes to the registry.     I have had my Outlook 2007 open additional mailboxes via the advanced account settings. After updating to Office SP2, the list of emails in the additional account still displays, but I get a message for each mailbox item: This item cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane. Open the item to read its contents. After double clicking the message, I get a small error box which displays just Cannot open this item. Unknown Error. Also, if I try to re-add the mailbox in the Advanced tab of my account settings, I get an error message The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. However, the status bar indicates Online with Microsoft Exchange, and I can both send and receive emails from my primary account.   • Wii game bought in US, will it work on a PAL console in Europe?

    I can't seem to find a European online outlet that offers this Wii game I'm looking for. If I would buy it from a web-shop in the US, could I end up with a game that doesn't work well with my console? I'm worried because all games I have for the Wii so far have a prominent mention of "PAL" on the cover. I didn't notice "NTSC" on the photo's of the cover online, but I'm worried none the less. (And thought I'd ask it here first...) Also, does anyone happen to know if Belgian customs would add tax to shipments like this coming in from the US?

    How long does it take a change in MX records to propagate? Is the MX record TTL the max time it will take or do we also need to wait for all DNS records to propagate? We are changing our mail server from Exchange 2003 to Exchange Online. Our current MX records (at Network Solutions) have a 1 & 2 hour TTL (primary and backup MX respectively). When we change the MX records to point to Exchange Online should all MX records worldwide be updated within 2-4 hours or should we assume the traditional 48 hours for DNS to propagate? I assume that once all MX records propagate that all new incoming email will be directed to the new server.

  • Any way to get P4V to work with older servers?

    I use P4V as a Perforce client. I updated to 2009.1 to get some major bug fixes, and it seems they removed the ability to connect to older clients. I do work for a few clients, and 5/6 depots I have to work with are new, but one is older (2002.2 I think). Does this mean that not only I can't get any more bug fixes because 1 of 6 servers is old, but now I'm completely locked out of that server since the older P4V clients are no longer online? I know the 2007.x version I used before works with the old servers, but I can't find it online. Please tell me I'm not SOL... The Visual Studio integration is part of the P4V package, not the P4Win package, so if something isn't fixed I might never have VS support for P4 again. Help :(

As i mentioned in my previous problem my computer freezes while watching online videos showing 100% cpu usage. I have tried the suggestions given in that query and I have formated my whole computer and installed windows and other softwares (with latest updates) but the problem still presisting. If i watch a video online approximately after one hour my system shows very high cpu usage and when i close my browser cpu usage comes to normal(i tried to watch Cybergeddon but my computer is freezing from start,and also other youtube videos). Can you tell me whether its an hardware problem? if yes can you give any possible explanation( eg:motherboard problem,over heating etc) because i want to tell those reasons to my computer mechanic.

  • Setting up multiple wireless access points on same network

    I'd like to add wireless to my network, and I need multiple access points to cover the whole area. I'd like to set them up so that there's only one "wireless network" that the clients see, and it switches them as seamlessly as possible between access points as they wander around (if that's not possible, then at least have it so that they don't need to set up the security by hand on each one the first time, if possible). I've searched online, and there are quite a few sets of mixed instructions (same vs different SSID, frequency, does the security need to match exactly, etc.). Can somebody who has some experience doing this please let me know what they did? I imagine it's pretty simple, but there seems to be no clear cut "yes, you can do this" online, even though I know you can. I have a mid-size LAN with about 20 workstations and two Domain Controllers on it. Also, I'll be doing this with consumer wireless components, if it makes a difference, not enterprise-level components (ie. Linksys rather than Cisco).

  • Does VMware_ThinApp_4.0.3_169725.msi contain Trojan.Win32.Vapsup in it? [closed]

    Today I ran a full system scan using Online Armor++. It detected Trojans in the installer. I have had this installer on the computer for many months and I do not remember if I ever installed it on this PC or not. For some reason I unpacked the installer with 7zip though. I was probably going to attempt to make it portable. Anyway so I had the installer in a folder, and another folder next to it with all of the installers files unpacked. The VMwareVS.cab file that was extracted from the installer, also had its files extracted into another folder. This was all done many months ago. OA++ did not detect the installer itself as as Trojan VMwareVS.cab, but it did detect 4 of the files that I had unpacked as Trojans. Here are the details of what the scan detected on my PC today. Note: I uploaded these files to VirusTotal....the Ikarus and A-squared engines(the engines from Online Armor++) are not detecting anything. But some of the other engines are detecting the same Trojan that OA++ detected(Trojan.Win32.Vapsup).   • ownCloud WebDAV interface seems to be broken

    I've been trying to host ownCloud on my server but everytime I try to it tells me this : Your web server is not yet properly setup to allow files synchronization because the WebDAV interface seems to be broken. Please double check the installation guides. This is my setup : Windows Server 2012 R2 IIS 8.5 PHP 5.5.11 ownCloud 6.0.3 MySQL 5.6.17 I tried google the error but I can't seem to find anything usefull. Some say I should try if this works : [hostname]/remote.php/webdav/ and yes I can navigate to this folder and I can open files from there. The calendar works and I can also just upload files the web version of ownCloud the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the sync client.   • High CPU usage on Linux machine

    I have a piece of java code running on two different machines, but on one of the linux machines, the code uses alot of CPU (close to 100% cpu usage). On the other machine the same code uses less cpu (under 3 to 4%). The machine where cpu usage is high, is a more powerful machine, more CPU and and more memory. This has started happening recently and performance on the machine with high cpu usage has degraded significantly. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas why something like this could happen, possible causes behind this etc. any guesses? No recent changes in hardware were made, no recent code updates...   • Hyper-V Manager right clicking on remote VM causes MMC error
