• Best way to move an image across part of the screen?

  I have a Silverlight WP7 app and an image on my page that I want to appear to slide across the screen. What is the best way of doing this? • Strange Java Coding??? Class in class???

  Hi guys, I got a question about Java coding in general... In some sample codes there are methods and classes declared WITHIN other methods and/or classes.... I've never heard/red about this...what effect does this kind of programming have? Wouldn't it be better to write down classes in a seperate file and methods side by side and not within each other (like every book tells you)? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this kind of programming?   Hi, I want to validate my inputs but i can't make it work : nothing appear on the page. My project is in java 5, so no JSR303 (@Valid). My only solution, if i'm not mistaken, is to use BindingResult. The problem I have is that I don't know how to somehow mark the object for deallocation once extproc has done marshalling it. The object remains in extproc's memory forever making it grow in memory consumtion. • .NET SerialPort.Read skipps bytes

  Solution Reading the data byte wise via "port.ReadByte" is too slow, the problem is inside the SerialPort class. i changed it to reading bigger chunks via "port.Read" and there are now no buffer overruns. although i found the solution myself, writing it down helped me and maybe someone else has the same problem and finds this via google... (how can i mark it as answered?) EDIT 2 by setting port.ReadBufferSize = 2000000; i can delay the problem for ~30 seconds. so it seems, .Net really is too slow... since my application is not that critical, i just set the buffer to 20MB, but i am still interested in the cause. EDIT i just tested something i had not thought of before (shame on me): port.ErrorReceived += (object self, SerialErrorReceivedEventArgs se_arg) => { Console.Write("| Error: {0} | ", System.Enum.GetName(se_arg.EventType.GetType(), se_arg.EventType)); }; and it seems that i have an overrun. Is the .Net implementation too slow for 500k or is there an error on my side? Original Question i built a very primitive oszilloscope (avr, which sends adc data over uart to an ftdi chip). On the pc side i have a WPF Programm that displays this data. The Protokoll is: two sync bytes (0xaffe) - 14 data bytes - two sync bytes - 14 data bytes - ... i use 16bit values, so inside the 14 data bytes are 7 channels (lsb first). I verified the uC Firmware with hTerm, and it does send and receive everything correct. But, if i try to read the data with C#, sometimes some bytes are lost. The oszilloscop programm is a mess, but i created a small sample application, which has the same symptoms. I added two extension methods to a) read one byte from the COM Port and ignore -1 (EOF) and b) wait for the sync pattern. The sample programm first syncs onto the data stream by waiting for (0xaffe) and then compares the received bytes with the expected values. the loop runs a few times until an assert failed message pops up. I could not find anything about lost bytes via google, any help would be appreciated. • Flickering when repainting a JPanel inside a JScrollPAne

  I'm having a problem with repainting a JPanel inside a JScrollPane. Basically, I'm just trying to 'wrap' my existing EditPanel (it originally extended JPanel) into a JScrollPane. It seems that the JPanel updates too often (mass flickering). How would I stop this from happening? I tried using the setIgnoreRepaint() but it didn't seem to do anything. Will this current implementation work or would I need to create another inner class to fine-tune the JPanel I'm using to display graphics?   Hi All, In my Asp.Net project I wanna use Property Auto-wiring, e.g. for my ILogger. Basically I placed Property into my base classes. One for Page, one for UserControl.   Howdy all, I'm running into a problem with some InfoPath C# code while trying to remove an attachment from a form. Basically the process is: User opens form User clicks button File attachment is cleared I've tried adding a blank attachment to my schema that never becomes populated, then setting the original field's value equal to that value by the method below. When debugging the form I catch an error: Schema validation found non-data type errors. • Manually Adjusting UI for Rotation

  In my view I have some number-pad type buttons that I want to manually adjust their X and Y when the view is rotated. I'm having trouble figuring out how to support this. I have added in my ViewDidLoad NSNotificationCenter.DefaultCenter.AddObserver("UIDeviceOrientationDidChangeNotification", DeviceRotated ); And I defined my DeviceRotated but the breakpoint is never hit. I thought this might be because of the Autorotate, so I overrided the ShouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation and set that to false (true didn't work either). I figured there should be some WillRotate (but that's a void return type) or something that would allow me to indicate that I want the View to rotate, and whatever is set to auto adjust I'd like it to do that, but that I would like to be able to manually adjust any other items that I need. If I have to do everything myself, that's fine as well. Any advice would be appreciated, Driss.

  I have a TreeView with check boxes, and when a user checks a child node, I want to go up the tree and check each parent. However, for some reason my application blows up whenever I touch the parent node. For the nodes in my tree, I've extended TreeNode to create my own objects with some data that I need to store in them, but I still reference them as TreeNodes when checking/unchecking.   This is using the Backberry JDK (5.0 if needed). I have a custom Manager that contains a RichTextField. I want the height of the field to vary by the amount of text in the RichTextField.
