• How do I regenerate statistics in Openx?

  ue to faulty hardware, statistics generated over a 2 week period were significantly higher than normal (10000 times higher than normal). After moving the application to a new server, the problem rectified itself. The issue I have is that there are 2 weeks of stats that are clearly wrong. I have checked the raw impressions table for the affected fortnight and it seems to be correct (ie. stats per banner per day match the average for the previous month). Looking at the intermediate & summary impressions tables, the values are inflated. I understand from the openx forum (http://forum.openx.org/index.php?s=7796fd9dae40e020a010773746f3ada9&showtopic=503424297) it's possible to regenerate stats from the raw data but it will only regenerate stats per hour, meaning regenerating stats for 2 weeks would be very time consuming. Is there another, more efficient way to regenerate the stats from the raw data for the affected fortnight?

• "Debug Assertion" Runtime Error on VS2008?

  I' writing a C++ MFC program on VS2008 and I'm getting this "Debug Assertion Error" when I first run the program sometimes. When I try to debug it, it takes me to this winhand.cpp file which is not part of the program I wrote so I'm not sure how to debug this. • What does this rake db:seed error mean?

  I've been trying to solve this problem for a couple of hours but I can't seem to understand what's going on. I'm using Rails 3 beta, and want to seed some data to the database. However, when I try to seed some values through db:seed, I get this error: rake aborted! • Is writing a reference atomic on 64bit VMs

  Hi The java memory model mandates that writing a int is atomic: That is, if you write a value to it (consisting of 4 bytes) in one thread and read it in another, you will get all bytes or none, but never 2 new bytes and 2 old bytes or such. This is not guaranteed for long. Here, writing 0x1122334455667788 to a variable holding 0 before could result in another thread reading 0x112233440000000 or 0x0000000055667788. Now the specification does not mandate object references to be either int or long-sized. For type safety reasons I suspect they are guaranteed to be written atomiacally, but on a 64bit VM these references could be very well 64bit values (merely memory addresses). No here are my question: Are there any memory model specs covering this (that I haven't found)? Are long-writes suspect to be atomic on 64bit VMs? Are VMs forced to map references to 32bit?   When you get the innerHTML of a DOM node in IE, if there are no spaces in an attribute value, IE will remove the quotes around it, as demonstrated below: <html> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <div id="div1"><div id="div2"></div></div> <script type="text/javascript"> alert(document.getElementById("div1").innerHTML); </script> </body> </html> In IE, the alert will read: <DIV id=div2></DIV> This is a problem, because I am passing this on to a processor that requires valid XHTML, and all attribute values must be quoted. • Microsft Jet oledb connection to excel loses formulae

  I have a dataset and I write it's values to an excel file using Microsoft Jet 4.0 Oledb provider. I want to put hyperlinks into the excel, for this I write "=HYPERLINK("http://www.abc.org/x.pdf")" in DS and then write it to excel. But when the excel is opened it prefixes a ' (quote/apostrophe) before the formula and there it comes as a text, not link. Can you help me removing that quote so that my excel file has hyperlinks instead of that as text? I need to use Microsoft Jet 4.0 provider (not excel component) as the client machine may or may not have MS-Excel installed on his machine.

  I made a package which I can use like this: select * from table(my_package.my_function(99, 'something, something2', 1, 50)) I make use of the package in a stored procedure. Sample stored procedure looks like: insert into something values(...) from (select * from table(my_package.my_function(99, 'something, something2', 1, 50))) a other_table b where b.something1 = a.something1; open cv_1 for select count(*) from table(my_package.my_function(99, 'something, something2', 1, 50)) So I am calling the same package twice. first time to match records with other tables and other stuff and second time to get the count. Is there a way to get the count first time around and put it into a variable and second time around I just pick that variable rather than calling the whole query again? Hope it makes sense.

• SQL Server 2008 Management Studio doesn't recognize new Schema

  I have created a new Schema in a database called Contexts. Now when I want to write a query, Management Studio doesn't recognize the tables that belong to the new Schema. It says: 'Invalid object name Contexts.ContextLibraries'... Transact-SQL: INSERT INTO [Contexts].[ContextLibraries] (ChannelId, [IsSystem]) VALUES (@ChannelId, 1) When I try the same thing on my local database, it does work... Any ideas? I did try to change the Default schema for the user from dbo to Contexts but this doesn't work. Also checked Contexts in Schemas owned by this user without success. Update: Apparently the sql query does work but the editor gives a fault saying the object is invalid.

  I am trying to autoreload my page after every 20 seconds. I am using JavaScript for this instead of the <meta. I have <body onload="SetTimer()" and here is my JavaScript function function SetTimer(){ setTimeout('window.location.replace(window.location.pathname)', 20000) } Now my problem is I also pass a parameter within the querystring when this page is loaded first. But when the page relaods again (window.location.pathname does not include the parameter) hence I am not able to assign values to the labels on the page which is based on the parameters passed.

The x and y values are always growing (like a milage counter in a car).   I understand that floating point arithmetic as performed in modern computer systems is not always consistent with real arithmetic. I am trying to contrive a small C# program to demonstrate this. eg: static void Main(string[] args) { double x = 0, y = 0; x += 20013.8; x += 20012.7; y += 10016.4; y += 30010.1; Console.WriteLine("Result: "+ x + " " + y + " " + (x==y)); Console.Write("Press any key to continue . . . "); Console.ReadKey(true); } However, in this case, x and y are equal in the end. Is it possible for me to demonstrate the inconsistency of floating point arithmetic using a program of similar complexity, and without using any really crazy numbers? I would like, if possible, to avoid mathematically correct values that go more than a few places beyond the decimal point.

• Ruby on Rails: strange voting increment behavior

  So I have an up and a downvote button that inserts a vote with a value of 1 or -1 into the database. This works correctly. Then, I display the total vote count for that element by summing up its votes' values. However, this isn't working correctly, because the vote sum display is acting really strange: The first vote on a video doesn't seem to increment it at all. Then the second vote does. If I go from an upvote to a downvote, it increments up once, and then the next downvote is down. This is difficult to explain, but maybe you can figure out what is wrong with my code. I have this function in my Video model (the element that is voted on, it has_many video_votes): def vote_sum read_attribute(:vote_sum) || video_votes.sum(:value) end I also have this in my VideoVote model: after_create :update_vote_sum private def update_vote_sum video.update_attributes(:vote_sum => video.vote_sum + value) end What am I doing wrong?

Unless there's something new in Grails 1.2.1 or Groovy that I'm not understanding. • Using listpreference and getting the key works but no ok button...

  I'm using listpreference in my android app and getting my key values and all is well and works good (now that you guys have helped me) BUT - when my listpreference menus popup, they only contain a cancel button. Let's say the user is choosing between red, blue, and green. When the listpreference dialog first pops-up, the dialog only shows a cancel button. Because of that, the dialog disappears as soon as the user selects their choice. I would like it so that when the user chooses their setting, they see the radio button get highlighted and then they go ahead and click the ok button...but I don't have an ok button and can't figure out why. Any help would be awesome...al

• Write data to an xml file.

  My aim is to write an XML file with few tags whose values are the regional language. I'm using Python to do this and using IDLE(Pythong GUI) for programming. While I try to write the words in an xmls file it gives the following error. UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 0-4: ordinal not in range(128) For now, I'm not using any xml writer library instead I'm opening a file "test.xml" and writing the data into it. This error is encountered by the line: f.write("\t\" + data + "\"). If I replace the above write statement with print statement then it prints the data properly on Python Shell. I'm reading the data from an excel file which is not in the UTF8,16, or 32 encoding formats. Its in some other format. cp1252 is reading the data properly. Any help in getting this data writtent oan xml would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Bob

• What is the point of JComboBox's getSelectedItem()?

  I just read the JavaDoc for JComboBox (I promise I have a life... I wasn't reading through for fun. =P), and I think the problems I'm having with my program can be attributed to the getSelectedItem() method. The documentation says: Returns the current selected item. If the combo box is editable, then this value may not have been added to the combo box with addItem, insertItemAt or the data constructors. If you can't get values that were added with those methods or with the constructor, of what use is the method? And how can I get the value from an "editable" JComboBox?   My regex skills are not very good and recently a new data element has thrown my parser into a loop Take the following string "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write" Previously I had the following for my regex : [+\\-/] Which would turn the result into USER=Bob Smith GROUP=Admin FUNCTION=Read FUNCTION=Write FUNCTION=Read But now I have values with dashes in them which is causing bad output New string looks like "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write/FUNCTION=Read-Write" Which gives me the following result , and breaks the key = value structure. USER=Bob Smith GROUP=Admin FUNCTION=Read FUNCTION=Write FUNCTION=Read Write Can someone help me formulate a valid regex for handling this or point me to some key / value examples. • In a digital photo, detecting if a mountain is obscured by clouds.

  The problem I have a collection of digital photos of a mountain in Japan. However the mountain is often obscured by clouds or fog. What techniques can I use to detect that the mountain is visible in the image? I am currently using Perl with the Imager module, but open to alternatives. All the images are taken from the exact same position - these are some samples. My naïve solution I started by taking several horizontal pixel samples of the mountain cone and comparing the brightness values to other samples from the sky. This worked well for differentiating good image 1 and bad image 2. However in the autumn it snowed and the mountain became brighter than the sky, like image 3, and my simple brightness test started to fail. Image 4 is an example of an edge case. I would classify this as a good image since some of the mountain is clearly visible.

  What I want to do is quite simple: store data in a custom config file that I want to read later on. I created my file something.yml that I put in the global config directory. It looks like that: prod: test: ok dev: test: ko all: foo: bar john: doe Then I copied the config_handlers.yml and also put it in the config directory and added the following at the top of the file: config/something.yml: class: sfDefineEnvironmentConfigHandler param: prefix: something_ But if I'm calling sfConfig::get("something_foo"); I keep getting NULL. What did I do wrong? I just want to read values, so no need to create a custome config handler, right? I've read the doc here: http://www.symfony-project.org/book/1_2/19-Mastering-Symfony-s-Configuration-Files even though I'm running 1.4 (I don't think that changed since then). Edit: Of course I can use sfYaml::load() but I'd like to do things in a better way.

• using nested arrays by php http_build_query() and recieve them in flash AS3

  hi, i am having this hard time figuring what is needed to do, i am using URLVariables to send/recieve values between flash and PHP the problem is, i am unable to access nested arrays ( array inside an array ) with flash heres an example: $dgresult = array("total" = $results); echo http_build_query($dgresult,"flf_"); in flash, all i need to do is to use: var variables:URLVariables = new URLVariables(e.target.data); then i can access it with : variables.total the problem now is when i have nested arrays: $dgresult = array("total" = $results); array_push($dgresult,$another_array); http_build_query($dgresult,"flf_"); i can still access variables.total but what about anything that has flf_ ? how is that possible?

  I've got a Grails controller which relies on the message taglib to resolve an i18n message: class TokenController { def passwordReset = { def token = DatedToken.findById(params.id); if (!isValidToken(token, params)) { flash.message = message(code: "forgotPassword.reset.invalidToken") redirect controller: 'forgotPassword', action: 'index' return } render view:'/forgotPassword/reset', model: [token: token.token] } } I've written a unit test for the controller: class TokenControllerTests extends ControllerUnitTestCase { void testPasswordResetInvalidTokenRedirect() { controller.passwordReset() assert... } } Since the message taglib is called in the controller I get a MissingMethodException: groovy.lang.MissingMethodException: No signature of method: TokenController.message() is applicable for argument types: (java.util.LinkedHashMap) values: [[code:forgotPassword.reset.invalidToken]] Does anyone know the best way to get around this issue in a unit test? Ideally I would like to perform assertions on the message but right now I'd be happy if the test just ran! Thanks

• Decrease DB requests number from Django templates

  I publish discount offers for my city. Offer models are passed to template ( ~15 offers per page). Every offer has lot of items(every item has FK to it's offer), thus i have to make huge number of DB request from template. {% for item in offer.1 %} {{item.descr}} {{item.start_date}} {{item.price|floatformat}} {%if not item.tax_included %}{%trans "Without taxes"%}{%endif%} <a href="{{item.offer.wwwlink}}" >{%trans "Buy now!"%}</a> </div> <div class="clear"></div> {% endfor %} So there are ~200-400 DB requests per page, that's abnormal i expect. In django code it is possible to use select_related to prepopulate needed values, how can i decrease number of requests in template?
