• iPhone App is leaking memory; Instruments and Clang cannot find the leak

  Hi, i've developed an iPhone program which is kind of an image manipulation program: The user get an UIImagePickerController and selects an image. Then the program does some heavy calculating in a new thread (for responsiveness of the application). The thread has, of course, its own autorelease pool. When calculation is done, the seperated thread signals the main thread that the result can be presented. The app creates a new view controller, pushes it onto the navigation controller. In short: UIImagePickerController new thread (autorelease pool) does some heavy calculation with image data signal to main thread that it's done main thread creates view controller and pushes it onto navigation controller view controller presents image result My program works well, but if I dismiss the navigation controller's top view controller by tapping on the back button and repeat the whole process several times, my app crashes. But only on the device! Instruments cannot find any leaks (except for some minor ones which I don't feel responsible for: thread creation, NSCFString; overall about 10 kB). Even Clang static analyzer tells me that my could seems to be all right. I know that the UIImage class can cache images and objects returned from convenience methods get freed only whet their autorelease pool gets drained. But most of the time I work with CGImageRef and I use UIImage' alloc, init & release methods to free memory as soon as possible. Currently, I don't know how to isolate the problem. How would you approach this problem? But i cannot find where they are stored (and google doesn't know). So i want to write a dummy application that will crash, show the WER dialog, let me click "view the details" so i can get to the folder where the dumps are saved. How can i crash on Windows?

But when posting, something happens, and my model is considered invalid, and it cannot insert. • mounting SD card on android emulator

  On the emulator, I can unmount the SD card from the Settings. On OSX, I can then mount it using hdiutil, then unmount it normally. I haven't been able to figure out how to re-mount it then on the emulator (without rebooting it). hints: the adb command "remount" is unrelated: it's about /system the emulator command is unrelated: it's only about starting the emulator mounting the SD card on OSX without unmounting it from the emulator, causes horrible pain to the emulator

  I'm using wx.AUI and having a bit of a problem managing panes. Once you have created a new pane using AddPane(), what is the syntax to update or change the pane? I've seen the SetPane command but I can't find any examples. Can someone direct me to an example? Or perhaps it makes sense to use some command to delete the pane and create a new one? • iphone dev - activity indicator scroll with the table

  In a view of my app I subclass tableViewController and has an activity indicator shown up when the table content is loading. I put it in the center of the screen but it scroll with the tableView (I guess the reason is I add it as a subview of the table view). • DB time always showing as zero in Rails development log timings

  I've noticed that the Rails log correctly displays the time taken to execute an action in the logs, and that the View: part of that is also rendered correctly. However, the DB: value is always zero: Aug 11 13:00:22 [2326] INFO: Completed in 2072ms (View: 94, DB: 0) | 200 OK In fact, all my DB timings are being logged as zero. I'm logging at DEBUG level, in development mode, running Rails 2.3.2. Apologies in advance if the answer is blatantly obvious.

  I am trying to write a macro which calls cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function on each and every tag in a file displayed in the *Tags List* buffer (created by list-tags command). This should create a buffer which contains list of all functions calling a set of functions defined in a certain file. This is the sequence of keystrokes: 1. <f11> ;; cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function 2. RET ;; newline [shows results of cscope in a split window] 3. C-x C-p ;; mark-page 4. C-x C-x ;; icicle-exchange-point-and-mark 5. <up> ;; previous-line 6. <end> ;; end-of-line [region to copy has been marked] 7. <f7> ;; append-results-to-buffer 8. C-x ESC O ;; [move back to split window on the right] 9. C-x b ;; icicle-buffer [Switch back to *Tags List* buffer] 10. *Tags ;; self-insert-command * 5 11. SPC ;; self-insert-command 12. RET ;; newline 14 . <down> ;; next-line [Position point on next tag in the list] Problem: I get no results in the buffer, and I found out that's because Step 3-7 execute even before cscope prints the results of query made on Steps 1-2. I can insert a pause in the macro by using C-x q, but I'd rather like the macro to wait after Step 2, until cscope has returned with the results and only then continue further. I suspect this is not possible through a macro, maybe a LISP function... I'm not a lisp expert myself. Can someone please help? Thanks! F11 is bound to cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function windmove is installed and C-x (C-x ESC o - as shown below) takes you to the right window. • What should I check in my ASP.NET application to make sure it won't run out of resources?

  We have a website on IIS7 using ASP.NET Routing that seems as though it might be running out of resources. It just hangs after a few days, there is no error message or apparent crash. We are making sure every .Open command is matched by a .Close command on the database connection. We are doing the same with file Open/Close but there are very few of those. Is there anything else we should check?
