  • Is it possible to stream a file to and from servers without holding the data in ram?

    Hi everyone! PHP question (new to PHP after 10 years of Perl, arrggghhh!). I have a 100mb file that I want to send to another server. I have managed to read the file in and "post" it without curl (cannot use curl for this app). Everything is working fine on smaller files. However, with the larger files, PHP complains about not being able to allocate memory. Is there a way to open a file, line by line, and send it as a post ALSO line by line? This way nothing is held in ram thus preventing my errors and getting around strict limitations. Chris

  • spring mvc 3.0 small web application not quite working

    Hi, i'm creating a very simple (hello World quality) web application using spring mvc 3.0. when deploying the application on tomcat 6.0.26 and i try to open http://localhost:8080/protoweb/helloWorld.html i get 404, resource /protoweb/WEB-INF/jsp/helloWorld.jsp is not available.   • Is it Secure to Grant Apachie User Ownership of Directories & Files for Wordpress

    I'm currently setting up WordPress on an Ubuntu server 12 everything runs fine but there is an issue when it comes to automatically updating and uploading media via WP as Apache "www-data" user does not have permissions to write to the directories. "user1" has full permission All my directories have permissions of 0755 and files 644 my directories setup is as follows: /home/user1/public_html All WP files and directories are in "public_html" In order to work around the auto updating and uploading media I've granted Apache user ownership to the following directories sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-content -R sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-includes -R sudo chown www-data:www-data wp-admin -R I would like to know security wise how secure this is and if it is not secure what would be the best solution? That will allow me to keep all files and directories owned by user1 and still allow wp to be able to automatically update and uploading media

    I get the following error message with a new project I have set using code first CTP5. Can't find anything on the web about it. Has anyone encountered this error message? The context cannot be used while the model is being created. This occurs the first time my database context is called (code below): using (StaffData context = new StaffData()) { return context.Employees.Count(e = e.EmployeeReference) == 1; } At this point the database has not been created. I have a database initialiser DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges which I set in app_start.

  • What is the best practice for ouputting data from a collection on an ASP.net Page?

    I've ported a page from classic ASP to ASP.net. Part of what happens in this page is that a collection of custom types is generated and then displayed via Response.Write() commands. I'd like to get the business logic separated out into a code behind file (and maybe move this all into a user control), but I can't seem to figure out how I'd actually display the collection once it's been generated. I want to specify a master page here, too, so the code can't stay inline. The Data class , contains fileds with many types : int , string , double , Person object and array of Person object. I created the J2ME client code through the wizard and every thing seems ok . I see in the Netbeans project the service and the stub . When I try to call my web service method , say Data GetData() ; Then I have a problem with parsing the returned data from the web service and the client data object .   • How can I prevent 'objects you are adding to the designer use a different data connection...'?

    I am using Visual Studio 2010, and I have a LINQ-to-SQL DBML file that my colleagues and I are using for this project. We have a connection string in the web.config file that the DBML is using. However, when I drag a new table from my "Server Explorer" onto the DBML file... I get presented with a dialog that demands that do one of these two options: Allow visual studio to change the connection string to match the one in my solution explorer. Cancel the operation (meaning, I don't get my table). I don't really care too much about the debate as why the PMs/devs who made this tool didn't allow a third option - "Create the object anyway - don't worry, I'm a developer!" What I am thinking would be a good solution is if I can create a connection in the Server Explorer - WITHOUT A WIZARD. If I can just paste a connection string, that would be awesome! Because then the DBML designer won't freak out on me :O) If anyone knows the answer to this question, or how to do the above, please lemme know!

I need to deploy 2 Jira instances on asingle Tomcat server, I can't figure out how to pass in the jira.home property The documentation says I need to:- Add a web context property called 'jira.home' — this property is set in different files depending on your application server. For example, for Tomcat (and therefore for JIRA Standalone), you will need to configure the server.xml file. For other application servers you may need to configure the web.xml file, or set 'Context parameter' options on the deployment UI of the application server, etc. Note that If you have specified a JIRA home in jira-application.properties (ie. the recommended method), it will override your web context property. Am I specifying that a particular method on the recipient type will be invoked upon message receipt? If so, within what context does the method run - in a static context, or within the context of a new'd-up parent class instance (and if so, how does NServiceBus know what constructor to use)?

    I have a 100x100 pixel image that I want to draw at various angles rotated around the center of the image. The following code works, but rotates around the original origo of the coordinate system (upper left hand corner) and not the translated location. Thus the image is not rotated around itself but around the upper left corner of the screen.     I'm trying to access a method that is marked as internal in the parent class (in its own assembly) in an object that inherits from the same parent. Let me explain what I'm trying to do... I want to create Service classes that return IEnumberable with an underlying List to non-Service classes (e.g. the UI) and optionally return an IEnumerable with an underlying IQueryable to other services. I wrote some sample code to demonstrate what I'm trying to accomplish, shown below. The example is not real life, so please remember that when commenting. I know that I can add a new internal GetAll method to each service (or perhaps an intermediary parent class within the same assembly) so that each child service within the assembly can see each other's method; but it seems unnecessary since the functionality is already available in the parent class. For example: internal IEnumerable<Employees> GetAll(bool returnIQueryable) { return base.GetAll(returnIQueryable); } Essentially what I want is for services to be able to access other service methods as IQueryable so that they can further refine the uncommitted results, while everyone else gets plain old lists.     I have a Django app that gets it's data completely from an external source (queried via HTTP). That is, I don't have the option for a local database. Session data is stored in the cache (on my development server I use a SQLite database, so that is no error source). I'm using bleeding edge Django 1.1svn. Enter the problem: I want to use Django's own authentication system for the users. It seems quite simple to write my own Authentication Backend, but always just under the condition that you have a local database where to save the users. Without database my main problem is persistence. I have a simple EJB that I can successfully deploy using JDeveloper 11g's integrated WebLogic server and a remote database connection (JDBC). I have a DataSource named "PGY2" defined in WebLogic, and I can test it successfully from the admin console.     The title pretty much says it all, but here's the issue. I have an generic handler that returns Javascript; the only line of code that deals with caching that I put in is the following: context.Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.Public); context.Response.Cache.SetExpires(DateTime.Now.AddYears(1)); context.Response.ContentType = "text/javascript"; context.Response.Write("result"); I'm debugging on localhost. out of Visual Studio 2008, (that's "localhost." so fiddler picks it up) and Fiddler2 sees the expire date, but says that the cache header is set to private, and the page isn't being cached. Can anybody see what's going wrong here?

    Hey, Has anyone been able to get the Areas in ASP.NET MVC 2 to work? I created a new Area called "Secure" and placed a new controller in it named HomeController. I then Created a new Home/Index.aspx view. However, when I browse to http://localhost/myapp/Secure/ it gives a 404 resource cannot be found. http://localhost/myapp/Secure/Home gives the same error. Then row 1 would be: John, [email protected], http://domain1.com, 999-999-9999, Earth, Misc, , True How can I do this with the XML provided?

  • Making Firefox render canvas text the same as CSS text

    I've been experimenting with the canvas tag and Javascript. I've made a page that takes Tweets from the Twitter public timeline and animates them into view. It works by using a canvas element in the background for the animation. When the animation is complete, it creates a div element with the same text over the top. I do this so that the tweet text is selectable and links are clickable. Now, in Safari, Chrome and even Opera, the canvas text and div text look almost exactly the same. Yet in Firefox, the size of the text is different enough to make it 'jump' at the point it changes into the div. Does anyone know how to make Firefox render the text the same on the canvas element and the div using CSS? Or is this a rendering inconsistency with the engine. I have put the page on my website if you want to see what I mean. Now for the code: The CSS I'm using for rendering the div contains: line-height: 21px; font-weight: 100; font-family: Georgia, "New Century Schoolbook", "Nimbus Roman No9 L", serif; font-size: 20px; For rendering on the canvas I'm using: this.context.font = this.scale + 'px Georgia'; this.context.fillStyle = "white"; this.context.strokeStyle = 'white'; this.context.fillText(this.text, 0, 0); this.context.strokeText(this.text, 0, 0); where this.scale is an animated scale factor that finishes at 20px exactly. So, to recap, I'm using the same font and ending up at the same px size, yet Firefox renders the text differently between Canvas and CSS. (edit) Here's a screenshot example: First line is the text animating in using canvas, second line is the resulting div.
