  • didSelectRowAtIndexPath does not get called when scrolling and selecting a cell

    Hi all, It seems when I scroll my table view that if I select a cell while the table view is still scrolling, didSelectRowAtIndexPath doesn't get called. It works fine when the table view is still. Any ideas on why this might be? Also, is there a way that didSelectRowAtIndexPath can be called on press down? It seems it gets called after my finger/cursor is raised off of the cell. Thanks,

  • C# (4): double minus double giving precision problems

    I have come across a precision issue with double in .NET I thought this only applied to floats but now I see that double is a float. double test = 278.97 - 90.46; Debug.WriteLine(test) //188.51000000000005 //correct answer is 188.51 What is the correct way to handle this? Round? Lop off the unneeded decimal places?

    Hello All, When a J2ME application runs on Samsung Bada phone (GT-S5320, in my case),a virtual keypad is shown on the screen by default and always! This virtual keypad consists of the following keys - LEFT,RIGHT,UP,DOWN,FIRE and SOFT1, SOFT2. Is there anyway I can control when this keypad is displayed and when it isn't.     I have a arbitrarily large string of text from the user that needs to be split into 10k chunks (potentially adjustable value) and sent off to another system for processing. Chunks cannot be longer than 10k (or other arbitrary value) Text should be broken with natural language context in mind split on punctuation when possible split on spaces if no punction exists break a word as a last resort I'm trying not to re-invent the wheel with this, any suggestions before I roll this from scratch? Using C#.

  • Does constantly checking the documentation make you a bad coder?

    When writing PHP code for any given project, do you find you can write code off the top of your head? Or do you make multiple round trips to php.net? If it is the later, can you still be considered a good coder. This is a legitimate question as I find I have difficulty always remembering all of the functions that are available to me so I find I use php.net as a crutch. Is there anyway to improve this?

    I have an existing Workflow Rule that fires of a (SOAP) Outbound Message when a certain type of object is created or updated. That works fine. I want to extend it so that a similar Outbound Message is also sent when the objects are deleted. According to this discussion, Workflow Rules cannot be made to fire based on object deletions, so I have to write an Apex Trigger instead. So the question is, how do I kick off a SOAP Outbound Message from within Apex?

  • Any one like me who still believes in AspNet Web forms? Or has evryone switched to MVC

    After years mastering Aspnet webforms I recently decided to try out ASpnet MVC. Naturally my first action was to google 'Aspnet webforms vs Aspnet MVC'. I hoped to get an honest comparison of the two development techniques and guidelines on when to use which one. ..But I was completely turned off by the MVC proponents. In almost every post on the net comparing the two 'platforms' the MVC camp is simply bashing webform developers like me. They go on and on about how wrong and stupid using webforms is. As if what we have been doing the past decade has been pointless - all those websites built(& still running), all those clever controls, the mighty gridview..ALL POINTLESS ! Karl Seguin especially with his stupid webforms rant really turned me off. If his intention was to convert people like me he did the oposite and made me defensive. If anything I am now convinced that the webforms approach is better. consider the following All the critical shortcomings of aspnet webforms have now been Addressed in visual studio 2010 with Aspnet 4.0.- Cleaner html, cleaner control IDs, friendly urls, leaner viewstate etc Why would any one want to implement the mighty gridview and other wonderful controls from scratch ? In MVC you have to do this yourself because ABSTRACTION IS PLAIN STUPID- Instead of writing loops why not just code using 1s and 0s then? A stateless web is a WEAKNESS so why would anyone want to get rid of viewstate? Everyone would like a better implementation but getting rid of it is a step backwards not forward. Unit testing is great but not a critical requirement for most web projects. I thought inline codes were dead with asp. But now they are back and fashionable - Thanks to MVC. I dont know about you people but codebehind was REVOLUTIONARY. Ive had the Ajax Update panel do so many wonderful things without writing a line of code so why demonise it? Ive succesfully implemented a chat client, IM client and Status bar using nothing but the update panel and script manager.Ofcourse you cant use it for everything but most of the time its appropriate. And finally the last word from JQUERY - 'Write less do more !' - That's what webforms is all about ! So Am I the only who still believes in webforms(and it getting better as Aspnet 4.0 has shown) or will it be dead and gone a few years from now like asp? I mean if inline coding is 'the future' why not just switch to PHP !

    yea so I'm trying to display a paragraph in a tooltip when I hover a certain picture box. The problem is, the tooltip takes that paragraph, and spans it on one line, all accross my screen. How can I make it so that it takes a smaller, more readable area? or, maybe you have another technique to achieve the same thing, but without the tooltip function?

It displays fine on the jsp page or in the ireports preview but when it generates the RFT format, it gives me the "Invalid text height" error. I have no idea which field is causing this error, is there a way in ireports to drill down exactly which field is causing it?

    What HTML APIs are available for touch screen devices (e.g. tablet PCs)? I notice that GMail's iPad interface (and other mobile interfaces) doesn't scroll down in a normal web browser (pretending to be an iPad via a user-agent hack). How can one access this API on a PC? I have a school full of tablet PCs that aren't wonderful in tablet mode due to lack of application support, but there looks to be an increasing number of web-based apps that will fill this gap.

    All the examples I've see for using the Gallery view in Android set a specific pixel size for the images using: i.setLayoutParams(new Gallery.LayoutParams(200, 200)); I want to have my gallery images sized based on the screen density (ldpi, mdpi, hdpi).     Hi guys I'm working on my google apps application - currently I've build the authentication upon the example available at google namely this url The problem is that the session seems to time out and that everytime I am logged into my google apps account and go to my application I need to authenticate again and go through the screen where google asks me if I should allow the application to access the services like GMAIL, Docs etc listed in the manifest xml file. I don't think I'm doing it right as other applications allow instant access. Any ideas

    Hi, I'm trying to render a web page, in QT 4.5, that uses an embedded font. Most of the time this works as expected. Unfortunately, sometimes I get really weird behaviour. The font is rendered - apparently - off-by-one. For instance the text: "By" woukd appear as "Cz" Has anyone run into this before? And - more importantly - knows how to fix this?
