  im trying to burn DVD/CD through frontend C#.net code... i have used IMAPI2 for buring CD/DVD in windows XP..but it is giving me unhandeled exception... as:- System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast COM object of type 'IMAPI2.Interop.MsftFileSystemImageClass' to interface type 'IMAPI2.Interop.MsftFileSystemImage'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{7CFF842C-7E97-4807-8304-910DD8F7C051}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)) can anyone plz help me out to solve this pbm...im not able to solve this error.. this project is working fine in Windows7 but unable to work with XP...???

  I want javascript to be separated from views. Got requirement to implement localization for simple image button generated by JS: <img src="..." onclick="..." title="Close" /> What's the best technique to localize title of it? P.s. Found a solution by Ayende. This is the right direction. Edit: I got Localization helper class which provides Controller.Resource('foo') extension method. Thinking about to extend it (helper) so it could return all JavaScript resources (from "ClientSideResources" subfolder in App_LocalResources) for specified controller by it's name. Then - call it in BaseController, add it to ViewData and render it in Layout. Would that be a good idea?

  Hi, we have the problem that ShowHelp seems to fail under Vista and Windows Server 2008 if the path name of the help file contains a virtualized folder name. For example, under the German version Vista, "Program Files" is called "Programme". The call System.Windows.Forms.Help.ShowHelp(null, @"C:\Programme\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools\spyxx.chm"); fails, wheras System.Windows.Forms.Help.ShowHelp(null, @"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\Tools\spyxx.chm"); succeeds. If there any way in C# to convert a file path into its non-virtualized counterpart? Or is there any other solution to that problem? Regards

When I call the myFunction, images which I want to set to buttons appear after 2 sec simultaneously, not one by one with delay of 0.5 sec. • pass form builder in remote_function in rails ?

  hi all i have select box where on change i need to grab the value and via remote function get some field names from db and then generate those field further down the form depwning on whatoption from the select box is chosen. The problem is is that the fields are in a f.form_for so are using the formbuilder f that has the select box in. So when i render the partial via ajax in the controller i get an error as i dont have a reference to the local form builder f. does anyone know how or if i can get reference to the form builder orif can pass it in a remote function call and then pass into my locals in the partial ? thanks alot, any help will be great as been stuck on this a long time! cheers rick

  Hello, I have downloaded ffmpeg libraries for iPhone and compiled them. My objective is to create a movie file from a series of images using ffmpeg libraries.The amount of documentation for ffmpeg on iphone is very less. I checked an app called iFrameExtractor, which does the opposite of what i want, it extracts frames from a video. On the command line there is a command called ffmpeg -f image2 -i image%d.jpg video.mov This turns a series of images into a video. I actually checked it on my mac and it works fine. What i wanted to know was how do we get the equivalent in iPhone. Or rather which class/api or method to call. There are a couple of examples of apps doing this on iPhone. • Write wave files to memory in Java

  I'm trying to figure out why my servlet code creates wave files with improper headers. I use: AudioSystem.write( new AudioInputStream( new ByteArrayInputStream(memoryBytes), new AudioFormat(22000, 16, 1, true,false), memoryBytes.length ), AudioFileFormat.Type.WAVE, servletOutputStream ); taking a byte array from memory containing raw PCM samples and a servlet output stream that gets returned to the client. In the result I get a normal wave file but with zeros in the chunk size fields. Is the API broken? I would think that the size could be filled in using the size passed in the audio input stream. But now, after typing this out I'm thinking its not making this info available to the outer write() method on AudioSystem. It seems like the AudioSystem.write call needs a size parameter unless it is able to pull the size from the stream... which wouldn't work with an arbitrary sized stream. Does anyone know how to make this example work?

  I have some javascript code that includes an ANTLR-generated lexer and parser, and some associated syntax tree evaluation functionality. This code runs in the browser in my web app to support users who author code snippets which process scientific data. Now I'd like to do some additional background processing on the server using the same generated parser. I would prefer not to have to re-implement this stuff in C# and have multiple bits of code that did the exact same thing. Performance isn't as critical to me as eliminating duplication, since this is a background process. So, how can I call into my javascript code from C#? And how can I format my script so that it plays nicely with my .NET web app?

• UI Controls layer on top of operating system.

  I'm kind of curious about what layer writing a UI platform to the level of Win32 or the X Windowing System would fall in the grand scheme of an operating system. What layers below do they primarily make use of, is it heavily based on direct communication with the graphics card driver (I can't imagine going though a rendering pipeline like OpenGL for this), or is there a graphical platform as part of the operating system which extracts this out a little more. I'm also interested in the creation of shells and the like, and I"m particularly curious as to how people go about creating alternative shells for windows, what do people look for when figuring out what methods to call or what to hook into, etc? I guess I'm fairly lost at these concepts and finding it difficult to find documentation on them. • how can I retrieve an html document from a url from javascript?

  Hi, I have a url and I want to retrieve the html dom generated when going to the url (all the code for the page) in a javascript variable. How can I do this? I'm guessing an html get or post? Can anyone give an example with jQuery? Every time I do a $.get or $.post like this: $.get("http://www.google.ca", function(result) { alert(result); alert($(result).html()); }); $.post("http://www.google.ca", function(result) { alert(result); alert($(result).html()); }, "xml"); the first alert in each call comes up blank and the second comes up as null.   Hello, Is there a way in vb.net to create a sub/function that will take as an argument some kind of pointer to another function, and allow this new sub/function to execute the passed function? What I have are 10-12 xml-rpc functions I am calling against a remote server. Each of these functions has different argument lists (one takes 1 string, another might take 3 strings and one int, etc). All of them return an object. As I am calling these, it seems like it should be able to be factored better. For instance, everytime I call any of these functions, I want to test the return value for a session drop, and do something to try and reconnect to the remote system, etc. Using .net 3.5 Thanks! -R

Is it possible to truly replace the method so the second line of output prints "new"? When trying to figure it out, I found that DelegatingMetaClass might help - is that the most Groovy way to do this?

  I added the EXSLT dates-and-times module in my XSLT 1.0 file by declaring: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" ... xmlns:date="http://exslt.org/dates-and-times" extension-element-prefixes="date"> This doesn't affect my resulting page, but when I try to call the actual date with: <xsl:value-of select="date:date-time()"/> I receive an "Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred ()" message when loading my page. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might be missing? Thanks in advance!

Any idea what's going? I can get the migration to run if I comment the set_inheritance_column in the Fruit model, then uncomment it after I run the migration. Obviously, I don't want to do this, however.

  Hello, Redhat 5.5 gcc version 4.1.2 I have a directory call lib, and in that directory I have all the shared libraries (about 30) that we get from our customer as we use their API. We link with this API. directory structure: /usr/CSAPI/lib However, our customer will update their API so we get new libraries, normally about 3 or 4. What I have been doing is when I get new libraries. Is to remove the old one and put in another directory. And replace them with the new libaries in the lib directory. /usr/CSAPI/Old_libs The new and old will have the same name. i.e. libcs.so < old libcs.so < new Is there a better way to manage this? I was thinking of creating a soft line, but as the names are the same, I am not sure that this will work. Many thanks,

• What happens with TCP packets between two Socket.BeginReceive calls?

  I have a doubt about socket programming. I am developing a TCP packet sniffer. I am using Socket.BeginAccept, Socket.BeginReceive to capture every packet, but when a packet is received I have to process something. It is a fast operation, but would take some milliseconds, and then call BeginReceive again. My question is, what would happen if some packets are sent while I am processing, and haven't called BeginReceive? Are packets lost, or are they buffered internally? Is there a limit?
