  • Windows 2003 to log on no matter how it turned off

    I have a windows server 2003, which I use Teamviewer to connect to. When there is a power failure, and the computer restarts, it will not load Teamviewer. It gets stuck on a screen which asks why the computer was turned off. There is no keyboard or mouse connected to the server and I need Teamviewer to open every time. I don't want the screen asking why it was turned off to show up ever. I turned off Shutdown Event Tracker by doing the following: Open gpedit.msc Computer Configuration Administrative Templates System click Display Shutdown Event Tracker and then selected the disable radio button. Is this enough to prevent that screen to show up again? or is there anything else I need to change?

  • Why does the player fall down when in between platforms? Tile based platformer

    I've been working on a 2D platformer and have gotten the collision working, except for one tiny problem. My games a tile based platformer and whenever the player is in between two tiles, he falls down. Here is my code, it's fire off using an ENTER_FRAME event. It's only for collision from the bottom for now. var i:int; var j:int; var platform:Platform; var playerX:int = player.x/20; var playerY:int = player.y/20; var xLoopStart:int = (player.x - player.width)/20; var yLoopStart:int = (player.y - player.height)/20; var xLoopEnd:int = (player.x + player.width)/20; var yLoopEnd:int = (player.y + player.height)/20; var vy:Number = player.vy/20; var hitDirection:String; for(i = yLoopStart; i <= yLoopEnd; i++) { for(j = xLoopStart; j <= xLoopStart; j++) { if(platforms[i*36 + j] != null && platforms[i*36 + j] != 0) { platform = platforms[i*36 + j]; if(player.hitTestObject(platform) && i >= playerY) { hitDirection = "bottom"; } } } } This isn't the final version, going to replace hitTest with something more reliable , but this is an interesting problem and I'd like to know whats happening. Is my code just slow? Would firing off the code with a TIMER event fix it? Any information would be great.

  • How can I prevent my computer from waking up accidentally?

    When I put my computer into sleep mode, it will wake up while I'm away from it. There's nothing near the computer that could move the mouse or accidentally press a button and I have no idea what might be causing it. I tried checking what woke it, apparently LASTWAKE only tells me that it has been in sleep mode, not what woke it up. I also couldn't find anything in my Power Options regarding Sleep that seems off. Poking around in the Event Viewer I notice the following: The Power-Troubleshooter event at the top notes the following: The system has returned from a low power state. Sleep Time: ?2012?-?10?-?27T11:31:53.408927000Z Wake Time: ?2012?-?10?-?27T12:25:51.887029300Z Wake Source: Unknown So does anyone have an idea to find out what might be causing it and how I can prevent my computer from randomly waking up?

  • Issue with corrupt 1tb volume: can we rescue SQL databases?

    We have an instance where some how a 1tb volume has become corrupted. There are Event ID 55 errors in the system event viewer. When running chkdsk, it gets to 47% verifying indexes and returns to the command prompt. If we are unable to rescue the data on the drive then we have a full backup of the databases from some time ago. The logfiles of which are on a different volume which is intact. Would it be viable to restore the databases and somehow replay the log files? I have seen articles about replaying logfiles from a logfile backup (.trn), however we have the actual logfiles (.ldf) Any help would be appreciated.
