• CSharpCodeProvider 'cannot find metadata file' Compiling Plugin Code With Mono

  I have some code in an XML file that I load and compile at runtime in an application. This works fine on Windows, but under Mono I get assembly reference errors. The specific errors I get in the compiler results are: cannot find metadata file 'system.dll' at line 0 column 0. cannot find metadata file 'system.xml.dll' at line 0 column 0. Mono obviously doesn't like the way I add referenced assemblies to the code I'm compiling for system.xml and system.xml.dll. The other two assemblies add fine, which is no surprise because they're the code that the compiler is actually executing from and exist in the executable directory. Any clue what I need to do to fix this? Maybe I could just drop those DLLs in the executable directory, but that feels like a dumb idea.

• How to sort linq result by most similarity/equality

  I want to do a search for Music instruments which has its informations Name, Category and Origin as I asked in my post. But now I want to sort/group the result by similarity/equality to the keyword such as. • GWT: uiBinder-based widget cant be instanced second time

  Hi. I created a widget using GWT uiBinder. It works fine, till the moment when I want to instance it second time. After i call constructor second time it returns only raw description from XML and statements in constructor (rootElement.add( new HTML( "panel1" ), leftId );) are just don't work. It throws no error or warning. • An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in mscorlib.dll

  Ok the thing is that I am using asp.net mvc with linq to sql. I have a scenario where there are two tables group and features with many to many relationship with the third table groupfeatures. I have drag and drop all three table in the dbml file. • Phantom class definitions in Flash CS5?

  I'm trying to get FlashPunk working in the Flash CS5 IDE (don't ask), and I'm having trouble getting it to compile. In strict mode, the error I'm getting is: net/flashpunk/FP.as, Line 95 1119: Access of possibly undefined property _inherit through a reference with static type World. Typically, this means that there is a missing variable definition or the class being compiled cannot see that variable. Presumably, the framework compiles for others, so I'm pretty sure this isn't the issue, but I went in anyway and made sure the variables existed and set these variables to public (they were set to internal), but the error still occurred. It was almost like the compiler wasn't seeing the property definitions. If I turn off "strict mode", the app compiles, but then I get this error: ArgumentError: Error #1063: Argument count mismatch on World(). Expected 2, got 0. Now, World is a class in the FlashPunk package. In the class definition for it, the constructor does not expect any arguments: public function World() { ... ...and yet, for some reason, Flash is expecting two arguments. So it appears that everything is correct, but Flash is somehow expecting something different than what World's constructor defines. These two issues combined makes it seem like Flash is getting some other phantom version of another class called "World" which has two constructor arguments and different properties. I've gone in and checked the ActionScript settings. The only external-to-project stuff referenced is the default "$(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/libs". And I'm not using any of my own code other than a single "Main.as" file that super's Engine to set a few parameters - certainly, there's no new World class. With a generic name like "World", I thought perhaps this is a reserved class name within Flash or something, maybe imported from the default libs mentioned above, but some Googling turning up empty seems to put the lie to that. Any idea what might be going on?

• ASP.NET/C# - Deserialize XML, XSD.exe created multiple classes

  I'm trying to deserialize some XML (returned from a web service) into an object that I created using XSD.exe. The XSD executable created a .CS file with a different partial class for each parent node in the XML. For Example, the beginning of the XML looks like this (why can't I post xml here? sorry, this is ugly): <disclaimer><notificationDescription>Additional charges will apply.</notificationDescription></disclaimer><quote><masterQuote></masterQuote></quote> And the Class generated by the XSD.exe has a partial class named disclaimer with a get; set; string for notificationDescription. And another partial class for quoteMasterQuote with the corresponding child nodes as public strings. How can I deserialize this XML file into multiple classes? • cannot receive UDP broadcast packets

  Hello I have 2 boxes: - an embedded device (ARM Omap with linux) which I'll call "Omap". - a PC (can either be Windows or linux). Scenario 1 Both boxes are in the same network (example: my office). The Omap gets its address from a DHCP server (ex: 192.168.10.110). The PC has always the same address (ex. 192.168.10.104). I can successfully exchange UDP broadcast packets on any port. Success. Scenario 2 The 2 boxes are in a network withOUT a DHCP server. The PC has a static IP address (example: 10.10.10.20). The Omap boots, looks for a DHCP server, doesn't find it, and is in what I call "bad IP address" state. Now... Broadcasting UDP packets from the Omap works: the PC can see them. The opposite doesn't work: UDP packets broadcasted by the PC are not seen by the Omap. I am using Wireshark on another PC to verify that the packets are being sent. Failure. I tried to change the Omap ip address (with ifconfig)... no luck. What am I missing? To complete the picture, when the Omap is in Scenario 2, if I run udhcpc ... it can communicate with the DHCP server and get an IP address. I also see the packets with Wireshark. So this means that the DHCP client is able to broadcast UDP packets. (Yes, I tried to use DHCP ports 67/68 but it doesn't work). I am using Boost C++ Asio UDP sockets. Specifically, I took the multicast examples and changed them to do broadcasting. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Benedetto

  Hi, I'm trying to recreate a SyndicationFeed object (System.ServiceModel.Syndication) from XML data that has been stored locally. If I were working with XMLDocument, this would be easy.I'd call LoadXml(string). The SyndicationFeed will only load from an XMLReader. The XMLReader will only take a Stream or another XMLReader or a TextReader. • Good ways to dynamically generate the start image of an iPhone/iPad app

  I'm self-learning iPhone development and I see that one of the aspects of an iPhone/iPad app is the start image that gets displayed when your app is run. I'd like my start image to display some basic info about the user when the app is launched, but that info has to first be collected by the user when the app is first run. That tells me that I either need to dynamically generate the start image after the user enters their information or I need to place a label of some sort on top of my static start image in order to accomplish this. The first time the app launched and before the user enters their info, the start image can be anything or nothing at all, I'm not concerned about this. So, my two questions are this... Can you place controls, like a label, on top of the start image when your app is launched? If not, what's a good approach to dynamically generating the start image after the app is launched for the first time and the user info is collected? Thanks so much in advance for your help! • How to set "Run this program as an administrator" programatically.

  I'm having a problem with good ol' bdeadmin.exe in Vista. First, let's get the predictable responses out of the way: "You should not require your application to be elevated." This one does. C'est la vie. "You need to embed a manifest file." It is already compiled, it is many years old, the company that created it has no intention of doing it again, and it is installed from a Merge Module (MSM file). "BDE is obsolete, you should be using dbExpress" One and a half million lines of code. 'Nuff said. "Drop a manifest file next to the EXE." Tried that, did nothing. As a test, that same manifest file was able to make several other EXE files require elevation, just not the one I wanted. Something in there is preventing the external manifest from being read. "Create a shortcut and set SLDF_RUNAS_USER." Can't do that, it's a Control Panel applet. The only thing that worked was setting "Run this program as an administrator" under the Compatibility tab of its Properties window. I shouldn't have to tell users to do this. Bad for business. I need to have the installer do this. The MSM file uses a static path. Any ideas?
