  • Missing Driver - Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

    I have a HP 2000-2106TU Notebook PC running Windows XP. I want to get the brightness keys to work. They are placed over the F2 and F3 buttons and are meant to be used in conjunction with the Fn key. But these combinations do not work, though other Fn keys such as the volume control keys do. I see a missing driver for a device called Video Controller (VGA Compatible) in the Windows Device Manager. The hardware id is PCI VEN 8086 DEV 0106 SUBSYS_1858103C which a Google search suggests is in an Intel HD Graphics family, but I don't know where to locate the driver. HP's driver scan does not help, as it does not show any missing driver related to video/graphics. What can I do next?

  • Is the quadro 4000 still worth it's price? [closed]

    I am going to be purchasing a quadro graphics card for learning 3d CAD at work. It's not critical I have it right now otherwise I would just buy the current 4000 (PC). I am buying this with my own money and am concerned Nvidia will release a new Quadro 4000 sometime in the near months. Is the current 4000 still worth it's price tag at $700.00? If i were to purchase it, how long would it be useful? I am going to be running E-PLAN, SOLIDWORKS, DRAFTSIGHT, MASTERCAM. My computer is a second generation i7-2600k with z68 chipset (intel DZ68BC mobo).

Something a lot like the existing mx:Panel class, which includes a title label, but acts like a plain mx:Box with regards to adding children. What's the easiest way to do this? Edit: To be clear, I want to be able to extend the container using MXML, so the "Multiple visual children" problem is relevant.

  • EC2 Windows 2008 VM import Not Working

    I am trying to upload a Windows 2008 SP2 server image to Amazon EC2, but once the process is complete, I can't connect to it. I had ops export a VMDK from our datacenter. The image appeared to have a fixed IP, so I loaded it in VMWare player and enabled DHCP. I uploaded it following amazon's instructions: http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/vmimport/ I start the new instance and try to RDP to the public DNS; connection fails. My two thoughts are: Loading it in VMWare player messed it up somehow, since the instructions say use an ESX image. The image they made me had the wrong network adapter type. The image has an Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT adapter using the E1G60I32.sys driver.

    Is there any way showing the detailed exception for String or binary data would be truncated. I use LINQ to SQL and i cant figure out which column is that!? Tried numerous things but i get the same meaningless error i got from within Visual Studio. Also I use .NET 3.5 SP1, but errors are still returned useless.

    Hello, In ASP.NET MVC, we don't have controls which can do stuffs such as autocompletion (we don't have controls at all from Visual Studio like in web forms). But, Is it possible to still get 'Auto-completion' with a text box in ASP.NET MVC (like with the textbox found on the Google's Home page)? If this is the case, what's the best way to do so? JQueryUI? or there's someother way of getting that functionality? Thanks for helping.

    Hi, I'm using godaddy shared hosting, with IIS7, Integrated mode, and published up a bog standard MVC2 app to dev.lazygekko.com created with Visual Web Developer 2010. It all works, however when any of the links are clicked, they point to dev.lazygekko.com/dev/..., dev being the folder it is pointing at. Can anyone shed some light on what I may be doing wrong?   • Help me diagnose Windows 7 pc issue

    I have a dell pc running windows 7 with the intel i3 processor. Whenever I restart the computer, the os crawls. For example, I move the mouse and then I see it move on the screen 10 seconds later...everything runs slowly. This happens only on a restart (its fine when I turn it on after it has been shut down). Any ideas what is causing this (I haven't installed any new software since buying it). Does it sound like a hardware or software issue? Thanks

  • Booting drops to EFI shell but boots normally if exit'ed

    (first post here... I'm normally on stackoverflow) I'm booting an Intel ME 5788 board which uses EFI (a replacement for BIOS). On boot it drops out to the EFI Shell and the 'map' shows the drive as a blockdevice but there is no filesystem device mapped. If I just type 'exit' it boots normally to windows 7 and the configuration (using bcdedit.exe) looks fine. I'm confused - surely if its not been able to map the blockdevice as a filesystem device it should not boot? I would like to be able to get the boot to proceed without my interaction - does anyone know how to do it? (Also there is no Boot Manager options available in the shell, i.e. autoboot, bcfg etc)

    Hello, So when your using ASP.NET Wizards to create a login, it uses a set of auto generated tables using the aspnet_regsql.exe tool... When you create a user using the wizard it generates a very long userID "a40cf936-1596-4560-a26c-450792e2c8c0" I want to add users using another program that connects to this database... but how does visual studio auto-generate this ID. I want to auto-generate it as well Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -Scott

We use internet intensively to do our day to day activity. Please share you experience, whether you think this is a good ploy or there is any other more effective way of achieving the same result.

    I know I can pass a function pointer as a template parameter and get a call to it inlined but I wondered if any compilers these days can inline an 'obvious' inline-able function like: inline static void Print() { std::cout << "Hello\n"; } .... void (*func)() = Print; func(); Under Visual Studio 2008 its clever enough to get it down to a direct call instruction so it seems a shame it can't take it a step further?

The ram could do with another 4GB, for which I am thinking of replacing the 2x2GB for 2x4GB of the same type. My video card is struggling with the latest releases, so vitally should I ditch the video card and go for something newer (ATI 7850, GTX 660?) or try and get another 5850 for crossfire support? Bearing in mind 5850's are sort of hard to come buy now as they are not stocked in shops usually, which means they have to be bought second hand.

    I recently just changed my domain destination from the root (./) to (./Permias). Before I just did a website copy from visual studio to ./. So after changing my domain destination to ./Permias, I moved everything inside the Permias folder. But now when I tried to access the site it is as it's not there. What am I doing wrong?     Sometimes, my Linux PC unexpectedly closes my session (log out) while I am working, and puts me back the login window. If I have terminal 1 logged with root and 2 logged with another user (without X), these ones are not logged out. For example, for the last three hours, it has happened five times. Other times, it leads to a reboot. So I have investigated: the UPS, but the behaviour is unchanged without it). the temperatures, but everything is fine (cpu, disks, video card). I have started to investigate also: the memory (partially tested - I have to run a full testyt next night). EDIT: totally tested and passed. My configuration is: Linux 2.6.37-tuxonice x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz. Any idea please?
