  Dear reader, I'm working on a twitter client which uses the twitter streaming json api. Twitter advices JSON as XML version is deprecated. I'm looking for a good JSON parser which can parse the json data below.   This is really two questions one leading into the other. Firstly what does 'Permission denied to access property 'href' from a non-chrome context' actually mean? • PHP - Plus sign with GET query

  I have a PHP script that does basic encryption of a string through the method below: <?php $key = 'secretkey'; $string = $_GET['str']; if ($_GET['method'] == "decrypt") { $output = rtrim(mcrypt_decrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_256, md5($key), base64_decode($string), MCRYPT_MODE_CBC, md5(md5($key))), "\0"); } if ($_GET['method'] == "encrypt") { $output= base64_encode(mcrypt_encrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_256, md5($key), $string, MCRYPT_MODE_CBC, md5(md5($key)))); } echo $output; ?> An example of a URL to encrypt a string would look like this: Encrypt.php?method=encrypt&str=the quick fox Which would return this as the encrypted string: LCuT/ieVa6cl3/4VtzE+jd9QPT3kvHYYJFqG6tY3P0Q= Now to decrypt the string all you have to do is change the "method" query to "decrypt", like so: Encrypt.php?method=decrypt&str=LCuT/ieVa6cl3/4VtzE+jd9QPT3kvHYYJFqG6tY3P0Q= The only problem is that when that encrypted string is decrypted it returns this: ¬ƒ§rYV}̳5Äš·nßì(ñïX8Þ;b I have narrowed down the problem to the plus sign that is in the encrypted string. PHP's GET method seems to translate a plus sign into a blank space. I have searched this bug and found out that it has already been filed here. I have tried different methods listed on that page and others with no success. The closest I got is by using this: $fixedstring = str_replace(" ", "+", $string); and then using $fixedstring in the encryption methods, the problem is, upon decryption, all blank spaces are converted to plus signs. Any ideas?

• Why is "Fixup" needed for Persistence Ignorant POCO's in EF 4?

  One of the much-anticipated features of Entity Framework 4 is the ability to use POCO (Plain Old CLR Objects) in a Persistence Ignorant manner (i.e. they don't "know" that they are being persisted with Entity Framework vs. some other mechanism). I'm trying to wrap my head around why it's necessary to perform association fixups and use FixupCollection in my "plain" business object. That requirement seems to imply that the business object can't be completely ignorant of the persistence mechanism after all (in fact the word "fixup" sounds like something needs to be fixed/altered to work with the chosen persistence mechanism). Specifically I'm referring to the Association Fixup region that's generated by the ADO.NET POCO Entity Generator, e.g.: #region Association Fixup private void FixupImportFile(ImportFile previousValue) { if (previousValue != null && previousValue.Participants.Contains(this)) { previousValue.Participants.Remove(this); } if (ImportFile != null) { if (!ImportFile.Participants.Contains(this)) { ImportFile.Participants.Add(this); } if (ImportFileId != ImportFile.Id) { ImportFileId = ImportFile.Id; } } } #endregion as well as the use of FixupCollection. Is there a clever way to hide this persistence dependency from the POCO developer? How does this work out in practice, end-to-end? For example, I understand support was only recently added for ObservableCollection (which is needed for Silverlight and WPF). Are there gotchas in other software layers from the design requirements of EF-compatible POCO objects?

• Cookies not present after using XMLHttpRequest

  I'm trying to make a bookmarklet to download videos off of YouTube, but I've come across a little problem. To detect the highest quality video available, I use a sort of brute force method, in which I make requests using the XMLHttpRequest object until a 404 isn't returned (I can't do it until a 200 ok is returned because YouTube redirects to a different server if the video is available, and the cross-domain policy won't allow me to access any of that data). Once a working URL is found, I simply set window.location to the URL and the download should start, right? Wrong. A request is made, but for reasons unknown to me, the cookies are stripped and YouTube returns a 403 access denied. This does not happen if the XML requests aren't made before it, i.e. if I just set the window.location to the URL everything works fine, it's when I do the XMLHttpRequest that the cookies aren't sent. However, simply doing this: document.location = /get_video?video_id=" + yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['video_id'] + "&t=" + (unescape(yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['t'])) DOES send the cookies along with the request, and does work. The only downside is I can't automatically detect the highest quality, I just have to try every "fmt" parameter manually until I get it right. So my question is: why is the XMLHttpRequest object removing cookies from subsequent requests? This is the first time I've ever done anything in JS by the way, so please, go easy on me. ;)

  The Problem I am tring to do an ajax request to a PHP script, however I am having a problem getting the data into the format that the PHP is expecting it, the PHP is expecting the data to come in as array within an array something like, Array ( [cv_file] => Array ( [849649717] => Y [849649810] => Y ) [save] => Save CVs ) What have I tried? • Problem compiling gnustep-gui-0.16.0 undefined reference to png_sizeof

  I'm trying to compile GNUstep on a linux box but gnustep-gui-0.16.0 package is failing. I downloaded GNUstep Startup stable 0.20.1 (http://wwwmain.gnustep.org/resources/downloads.php)and follow instructions about how to compile (./configure && make). I'm getting this error: libgnustep-gui.so: undefined reference to 'png_sizeof' I have compiled latest libpng (1.2.34) and I can see that png_sizeof is defined as macro. However, I'm not quite sure how to fix the gnustep-gui-0.16.0 build. I tried to pass the include/lib directory where libpng is installed to configure build but nothing seems to help. I have quite up to date linux box but using gcc 3.3 (upgrade is not an option - but this should not be a problem). Full error: Making all for tool set_show_service... Compiling file set_show_service.m ...   Problem: I am using a big C/C++ code base which works on gcc & visual studio compilers where enum base type is by default 32-bit(integer type). This code also has lots of inline + embedded assembly which treats enum as integer type and enum data is used as 32-bit flags in many cases. When compiled this code with realview ARM RVCT 2.2 compiler, we started getting many issues since realview compiler decides enum base type automatically based on the value an enum is set to. http://www.keil.com/support/man/docs/armccref/armccref_Babjddhe.htm For example, Consider the below enum, enum Scale { TimesOne, //0 TimesTwo, //1 TimesFour, //2 TimesEight, //3 }; This enum is used as a 32-bit flag. but compiler optimizes it to unsigned char type for this enum. Using --enum_is_int compiler option is not a good solution for our case, since it converts all the enum's to 32-bit which will break interaction with any external code compiled without --enum_is_int. This is warning i found in RVCT compilers & Library guide, The --enum_is_int option is not recommended for general use and is not required for ISO-compatible source. Code compiled with this option is not compliant with the ABI for the ARM Architecture (base standard) [BSABI], and incorrect use might result in a failure at runtime. This option is not supported by the C++ libraries. • MySQL performance

  Hi, I have this LAMP application with about 900k rows in MySQL and I am having some performance issues. Background - Apart from the LAMP stack , there's also a Java process (multi-threaded) that runs in its own JVM. So together with LAMP & java, they form the complete solution. The java process is responsible for inserts/updates and few selects as well. These inserts/updates are usually in bulk/batch, anywhere between 5-150 rows. The PHP front-end code only does SELECT's. Issue - the PHP/SELECT queries become very slow when the java process is running. When the java process is stopped, SELECT's perform alright. I mean the performance difference is huge. When the java process is running, any action performed on the php front-end results in 80% and more CPU usage for mysqld process. Any help would be appreciated. • Maintaing JTextArea scroll position

  I have a JScrollPane with a JTextArea set as its view port. I update the (multi line) text shown on the JTextArea continously about once a second. Each time the text updates, JScrollPane goes all the way to the bottom of the text. Instead, I'd like to figure out the line number that is currently shown as the first line in the original text, and have that line be the first line shown when the text has been updated (or if the new text doesn't have that many lines, then scroll all the way to the bottom).   have an app that finds your GPS location successfully, but I need to be able to compare that GPS with a list of GPS locations, if both are the same , then you get a bonus. I thought I had it working, but it seems not. I have 'newLocation' as the location where you are, I think the problem is that I need to be able to seperate the long and lat data of newLocation.   I am creating a form designer. It will generate PHP code which will produce an HTML form. Users will fill in fields and the PHP will store user input in a MySql database (and, of course, they can use the designer to generate forms which query the database). I am using Borland C++ Builder (very similar to Delphi & and you can get the same idea from VB, MSVC, Qt ... any IDE with a RAD GUI designer). Looking at the W3C page http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp it seems that the components I can use for my form and retrieve data from are - edit box / TEdit / <input type="text" - memo / TMemo / <input type="textarea" - check box / TCheckBox / <input type="CheckBox" - Combo box / TComboBox / <select ... <option... - Radio group / TRadioGroup / <input type="radio" - Group box / TGroupBox / <fieldset ... <legend ... - Panel / TPanel / <fieldset ... I am unsure whether to allow button / TButton/ input type="button" - other than a single submit button which my form designer program automatically adds to the end of the generated form. But my real question is - did I miss any? It might be nice to have masked edit which only accepts numbers, or maybe some form of "spin control" (TUpDown, or slider + linked read only TEdit), so that the user can click & hold to increment/decrement an integer value. And a calendar component would be nice. Very important: I want to implement it all server-side in PHP, so no client-side JS or Ajax or the likes. If there anything else that I can add to make my generated forms look more impressive in the browser?

Pressing this deleteButton I want to delete items (innerListItem) for which this button was created. The idea is to find the innerlistview and use it instead of ConditionsList, however I don't know if it will work. If anyone have some samples concerning using listview in listview or how to operate the button in a different way please help me

• Get website's server from IP address

But if I enter an IP address, I get an error saying "Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined." when calling WebRequest.Create(url). Does someone know how I can modify this to accomplish what I want?
