  I am trying to build a simple java program which creates a db file, then a table and inserts dummy values in the table. • Weird Behavior with Jquery image slideshow... Help!

  I built a jquery slideshow based on the tutorial found here: http://www.queness.com/post/152/simple-jquery-image-slide-show-with-semi-transparent-caption It seems to be working perfectly fine, except that it behaves strangley right at the beginning when it displays the first image. The first image appears like normal and then flashes, fades to white and disappears completely. After that, the first slide reappears and behaves normally, transitioning to the next image. The slideshow in question is center page on the right: http://www.loftist.com/ I am not a JS developer, so I am not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

• JCarousellite not working in IE8

  I have a user who's having issues running the JCarousellite plug-in in IE8. Not just on my own site, but also on the jcarousellite homepage (http://www.gmarwaha.com/jquery/jcarousellite/) It runs fine on my own machine and all his IE Security settings/levels are the same as my own (Secruity is at "Medium-High" and Privacy at "Medium"). JQuery also seems to be working for him as other aspects controlled by jquery on the site are functioning correctly. I use Firefox normally, so am not aware of every feature IE8 offers, but am thinking he has some setting/option set incorrectly. Anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions for settings I could look at changing? Thanks

• Referencing View directory in asp.net mvc

  i have some html files as part of a regular website that has been ported over to asp.net mvc. • Need an Asp.net MVC Application solution

  I have implemented a small ordering and stock control system (for internal using) with the MVC 2 framework. Now my friends, they want to have a website to present the existing products for their customers. I know, I know they will ask me to do this one day. So in the beginning, I have made the controller name to start with "Admin". But now I am not sure the best way to implement their requirements. Could you advise me? 1.For the security reason, I did not allowed anonymous user to access the website a part from the CSS and image files. My question is the controllers' name are not folders' name, how could I set this up? 2.I'm planning to put the admin section into an "area" and will it be a good way to go? • How do I map a texture onto a Octahedron?

  I'm about to go mad. I cant for the life of me figure out texture coords. I have a Octahedron defined by the 8 triangles below. I want to map a texture of the earth on it. • Show all objects on canvas in window

  Hello -- We have a canvas with a large number of objects. The user can pan and zoom the view of the canvas. I am trying to figure out how to implement "show entire canvas" -- that is, zoom and center the canvas in the window to show all objects. We know the max and min X and Y coordinates. I am looking at our current zoom and pan implementations to try to figure out if there is a way to use them. Any suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated... Thanks.

  Hi, I have a MVC app that has forms authentication enabled. The app allows printing of invoices. I have an external app that converts html to pdf. How can I call the secured page from this pdf converter app so that some security remains? The PDF converter app just requires a URL. One thought was to create a HttpHandler for an extenion of say .print and pass a public key in the URL qureystring that can be validated by the MVC app. Any ideas on this? Malcolm

• How do I set permissions on a Server 2003 folder

  Hi There, In my part time position as entire IT department at my Office ( I'm a MCSD developer normally ) I have been asked to change a shared folder. Only I don't really understand all the Shared / Security options. I have a folder that must be accessed by 2 people in the company (and no one else). They both must have read/write/edit and change access. They must be able to read/write/edit each others files; existing or newly created. Should be easy but I'm a bit overwhelemd by all the choices.   Hi there, I am a Java newbie trying to maintain an application that works fine under J2SE 5.0 (32- and 64-bit) but has a very specific problem when run under Java SE 6 64-bit: [Tims-MPB:~] tlynch% java -version java version "1.6.0_15" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03-226) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.1-b02-92, mixed mode) The application is cross-platform and reportedly works correctly on Java SE 6 under Windows, though I haven't been able to verify that myself. The program uses a JTextField for some text entry and a JLabel to indicate the text to be entered. The first time the showDialog() method is called to set the label text and display the dialog, it works correctly, but subsequent calls all result in the display of the label from the initial invocation rather than the one most recently specified via setText(). public void showDialog(String msgText) { System.out.println("set ChatDialog: " + msgText); jLabel1.setText(msgText); jLabel1.repaint(); // I added this; it didn't help System.out.println("get ChatDialog: " + jLabel1.getText()); super.setVisible(true); } [the full text of the class is provided below] The added printlns validate that expected text is passed to the label's setText() method and is confirmed by retrieving it using getText(), but what shows up on the screen/GUI is always the text from the very first time the method was called for the object. A similar issue is observed with a JTextArea used to label another dialog box. These problem are consistent across multiple Mac systems running Java SE 6 under OS 10.5.x and 10.6.x, but they are never observed when one reverts to J2SE 5.0. If there is some background information pertinent to this problem that I have omitted, please let me know.   How do I perform an HTTP request and sign it with a X.509 certificate using Java? I usually program in C#. Now, what I would like to do is something similar to the following, only in Java: private HttpWebRequest CreateRequest(Uri uri, X509Certificate2 cert) { HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(uri); request.ClientCertificates.Add(cert); /* ... */ return request; } In Java I have created a java.security.cert.X509Certificate instance but I cannot figure out how to associate it to a HTTP request. I can create a HTTP request using a java.net.URL instance, but I don't seem to be able to associate my certificate with that instance (and I'm not sure whether using java.net.URL is even appropriate).

• Sanitize HTML before storing in the DB or before rendering? (AntiXSS library in ASP.NET)

  I have an editor that lets users add HTML that is stored in the database and rendered on a web page. Since this is untrusted input, I plan to use Microsoft.Security.Application.AntiXsSS.GetSafeHtmlFragment to sanitize the HTML. Should I santiize before saving to the database or before rendering the untrusted input into the webpage? Is there an advantage in including the AntiXSS source code in my project instead of just the DLL? (Maybe I can customize the white list?) Which class file should I look in for actual implementation of the GetSafeHtmlFragment

  One of my clients uses Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security to protect their internal mail services. Suddenly InterScan decided to filter out all messages coming from Google App Engine. Unfortunately they haven't been able to whitelist the sender address as each e-mail gets a different one. For example, *3ckihSOVMMHlZHSL.JSMMHlZHSL.JS*@apphosting.bounces.google.com, with everything before the @ being variable. Update I'm including this screenshot of how Interscan sees the incoming e-mail. Notice that all senders are different: If I look into the e-mail headers, the apphosting domain appears inside the Return-Path field: Return-Path: <36kSiSwYIBh0883XL3E7.5EH883XL3E7.5E@apphosting.bounces.google.com> The "From" field looks ok. It says what I set it to say, but the spam filter only looks at the Return-Path. My client sysadmin doesn't want to whitelist the whole apphosting domain, as it wouldn't be only whitelisting my application. How could I bypass this e-mail filters if I can't get an unique sender?   My jQuery code (using ajax) request's data from a php script (pgiproxy.php) using the following function: function grabPage($pageURL) { $homepage = file_get_contents($pageURL); echo $homepage; } I then extract the html code i need from the returned data using jQuery and insert it into a div called #BFX, as follows: $("#btnNewLoadMethod1").click(function(){ $('#temp1').load('pgiproxy.php', { data : $("#formdata").serialize(), mode : "graph"} , function() { $('#temp').html( $('#temp1').find('center').html() ); $('#BFX').html( $('#temp').html() ); }); }); This works fine. I get the html data (which is a gif image) i need displayed on screen in the correct div. The problem is i can see the html data loading into the div (dependant on network speed), but what I want is to insert the extracted html code into #BFX ONLY when the ajax request has fully completed.

• My AES encryption/decryption functions don't work with random ivecs

  I was bored and wrote a wrapper around openSSL to do AES encryption with less work. If I do it like this: http://pastebin.com/V1eqz4jp (ivec = 0) Everything works fine, but the default ivec is all 0's, which has some security problems. Since I'm passing the data back as a string anyway, I figured, why not generate a random ivec and stick it to the front, the take it back off when I decrypt the string? For some reason it doesn't work though. With random ivec: http://pastebin.com/MkDBFcn6 Well actually, it almost works. It seems to decrypt the middle of the string, but not the beginning or end: String is: 0123456789ABCDEF0123456789ABCDEF0123456789ABCDEF0123456789ABCDEF0123456789ABCDEF Encrypting.. ???l%%1u???B! ?????`pN)?????[l????{?Q???2?/?H??y"?=Z?Cu????l%%1u???B! Maybe some stupid mistake, or maybe I'm missing something about AES?
