• .NET Windows Live Messenger Connectivity?

  Hey there guys, I'm working on an IRC bot project, Trying to integrate Windows live into a bot, And have received messages sent to the channel. But the current problem is that the old messenger API that I had no longer works. And the current API i can only find information about addins (complicated for the end user to set up unless I make an installer), Or contact information. I would like my bot to be stand-alone (no messenger required) and have it log in it self, But I can not find information on the login process anywhere. Any ideas?

  For performance tests I need a way to measure the time needed for a form to load its definition from the DFM. All existing forms inherit a custom form class. To capture the current time, this base class needs overriden methods as "extension points": start of the deserialization process after the deserialization (can be implemented by overriding the Loaded procedure) the moment just before the execution of the OnFormCreate event So the log for TMyForm.Create(nil) could look like: - 00.000 instance created - 00.010 before deserialization - 01.823 after deserialization - 02.340 before OnFormCreate Which TObject (or TComponent) methods are best suited? Maybe there are other extension points in the form creation process, please feel free to make suggestions.

• Fail to profile remote java app using TPTP

  Hi all, I am trying to profile CPU usage using TPTP. Application to profile run on Linux RH AS5. I installed and configured Agent Controller like described here I ran the java application using the command java '-agentlib:JPIBootLoader=JPIAgent:server=standalone,file=log.trcxml;CGProf' MyApp The monitoring station is All-In-one TPTP version 4.6.2. I followed the stepes described here on Eclipse - on the "Profile Configuration" I choose a new configuration for "Attach to Agent", set the host to my remote linux machine where MyApp is running, test connection succeed and when I get to the "Agents" tab, I see "Pending...", a background process "Feching children for host" is running and can't find anything which makes it impossible to profile. Any idea?

• How to add an Interbase connection pool to glassfish?

  Hi, I am attempting to add an Interbase connection pool to GlassFish v3 to use EJB 3.1 in a project. The glassfish log appears to be connecting to my database properly, it spits out all my table names and indices. However, I get an error INFO: fetching database metadata SEVERE: could not complete schema update java.lang.NullPointerException at interbase.interclient.ResultSet.local_Close(Unknown Source) ... And when I ping the connection pool from within Glassfish I receive "Ping failed Exception - null". I have the following properties set with my connectionpool: resource type: javax.sql.DataSource Datasource Classname: interbase.interclient.DataSource portNumber: 3050 as well as my database info. I can't seem to find information elsewhere. This question is similar but did not receive an answer. thanks.

• Best practice for storing global data in PHP?

  Hi I'm running a web application that allows a user to log in. The user can add/remove content to his/her 'library' which is displayed on a page called "library.php". Instead of querying the database for the contents of the users library everytime they load "library.php", I want to store it globally for PHP when the user logs in, so that the query is only run once. Is there a best practice for doing this? fx. storing their library in an array in a session? Thanks for your time

• MSDN Subscription Site Down?

  I am not sure that this is an SO worthy question. (At least it is not like ones I normally ask.) But I can't get my MSDN Subscription to work any more. Is anyone else having this issue? When I log in and select "My Account" I get this: and when I try to download I get this: I have asked other developers that I know and it is broken for them too. But before I go digging into this, it would be nice to know if this is a me/us issue or an everyone issue. Also, if I am breaking the rules by posting this here let me know and I will delete it. • How do I prevent Eclipse from hanging on startup?

  I am using Eclipse 3.3 ("Europa"). Periodically, Eclipse takes an inordinately long time (perhaps forever) to start up. The only thing I can see in the Eclipse log is: !ENTRY org.eclipse.core.resources 2 10035 2008-10-16 09:47:34.801 !MESSAGE The workspace exited with unsaved changes in the previous session; refreshing workspace to recover changes. Googling reveals someone's suggestion that I remove the folder: workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\.root\.indexes This does not appear to have helped. Short of starting with a new workspace (something which I am not keen to do, as it takes me hours to set up all my projects again properly), is there a way to make Eclipse start up properly?

• How to casue a CppUnit test to fail - from C?

  I'd like to have an equivalent to CPPUNIT_ASSERT, CPPUNIT_ASSERT_MESSAGE or `CPPUNIT_FAIL' which I can call from some common C code. Our code is a mix of C and C++. Some older apps and those with specific requirements are coded in C and most, especially newer, are coded in C++. However, a lot of project-agnostic, common code, such as memory buffer pools, debug tracing, etc are coded in C. When testing a C++ app in CppUnit, I'd to be able to sprinkle some ASSSERT()s which would cause any running CppUnit test to fail. Maye something like: if testing if running in debugger (Eclipse) then asm("int3"); // stop the debugger, even if no breakpoint at this line else if running CppUnit test - fail the test and move on to next else trace to log file Most of that can be run by wrapping a macro around a few #ifdefs, but I am not sure how I would cause a CppUni test to fail from C code. Can it be done?

• Incorrect site usage report (Sharepoint)

  Hi... After restarting "Windows Sharepoint Services Timer" service the "Site usage report" shows only one day of activity (matches the day we restarted the service) while every other day has zeros. I took a look in the "\LOGS\" dir and is plenty of logs with the visit's information for the whole year! Why the usage report ignores it? I think maybe the log file of the day showed could have some kind of mark that the other ones doesn't... Thanks, Jorge.

  I have a User Defined Function (UDF) written in Java to parse lines in a log file and return information back to pig, so it can do all the processing. Example: I run this in pig REGISTER myjar.jar DEFINE Extractor com.namespace.Extractor(); logs = LOAD '$IN' USING TextLoader AS (line: chararray); events = FOREACH logs GENERATE FLATTEN(Extractor(line)); With this input: 1.5 7 "Valid Line" 1.3 gghyhtt Inv"alid line"" I throw an exceptioN!! 1.8 10 "Valid Line 2" Will it process the two lines and will 'logs' have 2 tuples, or will it just die in a fire?

• HttpPost works in Java project, not in Android

  I've written some code for my Android device to login to a web site over https and parse some data out of the resulting pages. An HttpGet happens first to get some info needed for login, then an HttpPost to do the actual login process. When run with the above Jar files I get the 302 redirect, however if I run the exact same code from an Android project with the 1.6 Android Jar file on the build path I get the 200 response from the server. I get the same 200 response when running the code on my 2.2 device. My android application has internet permissions, and the HttpGet works fine. I'm assuming that the problem lies in the fact that HttpPost (or some other class) is different in some significant way between the Android Jar version and the newer Apache versions. I've tried adding the Apache libraries to the build path of the Android project, but due to the duplicate classes I get messages like: INFO/dalvikvm(390): DexOpt: not resolving ambiguous class 'Lorg/apache/http/impl/client/DefaultHttpClient;' in the log. I've also tried using a MultipartEntity instead of the UrlEncodedFormEntity but I get the same 200 result. So, I have a few questions: - Can I force the code running under android to use the newer Apache libraries in preference to the Android versions? - If not, does anyone have any ideas how can I alter my code so that it works with the Android Jar? - Are there any other, totally different approaches to doing an HttpPost in Android? - Any other ideas? I've read a lot of posts and code but I'm not getting anywhere. I've been stuck on this for a couple of days and I'm at a loss how to get the thing to work, so I'll try anything at this point.   Maximizing business process efficiencies in a heterogeneous environment is very difficult. The difficulty stems from the fact that the various applications across the Information Technology (IT) landscape employ different integration standards, different message passing strategies, and different workflow engines. Vendors such as Oracle and others are delivering tools to help IT organizations manage the complexities introduced by these differences. But the one remaining intractable problem impacting efficient operations is the fact that these applications have different definitions for the same business data. Business data is your business information codified for computer programs to use. A good data model will represent the way your organization does business. The computer applications your organization deploys to improve operational efficiency are built to operate on the business data organized into this schema.  If the schema does not represent how you do business, the applications on that schema cannot provide the features you need to achieve the desired efficiencies. Business processes span these applications. Data problems break these processes rendering them far less efficient than they need to be to achieve organization goals. Thus, the expected return on the investment in these applications is never realized. The success of all business processes depends on the availability of accurate master data.  Clearly, the solution to this problem is to consolidate all the master data an organization uses to run its business. Then clean it up, augment it, govern it, and connect it back to the applications that need it. Until now, this obvious solution has been difficult to achieve because no one had defined a data model sufficiently broad, deep and flexible enough to support transaction processing on all key business entities and serve as a master superset to all other operational data models deployed in heterogeneous IT environments. Today, the situation has changed. Oracle has created an operational data model (aka schema) that can support accurate and consistent master data across heterogeneous IT systems. This is foundational for providing a way to consolidate and integrate master data without having to replace investments in existing applications. This Global Single Schema (GSS) represents a revolutionary breakthrough that allows for true master data consolidation. Not shown, but not to be overlooked, are the accounting and the financial processes associated with all this procuring, manufacturing, and selling activity. Supporting all these applications is the master data. When this data is fragmented and inconsistent, the business processes fail and inefficiencies multiply. But imagine having all the data under these operational business processes in one place. ·            The same accurate and timely customer data will be provided to all your operational applications from the call center to the point of sale. ·            The same accurate and timely supplier data will be provided to all your operational applications from supply chain planning to procurement. ·            The same accurate and timely product information will be available to all your operational applications from demand chain planning to marketing. You would have a single version of the truth about your assets, financial information, customers, suppliers, employees, products and services to support your business automation processes as they flow across your business applications. All company and partner personnel will access the same exact data entity across all your channels and across all your lines of business.   Hello I am trying to setup per-user fastcgi scripts that will run each on different port and with different user. Here is example of my script: #!/bin/bash BIND=127.0.0.1:9001 USER=user PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN=2 PHP_FCGI_MAX_REQUESTS=10000 etc... However, if I add user with /bin/false (which I want, since this is about to be something like shared hosting and I dont want users to have shell access), the script is run'd under 1001, 1002 'user' which, as I googled, might be security hole. My question is: Is it possible to allow user(s) execute shell scripts but disable them to log in via SSH ? Thank you

  hi havent found the solution yet in the forum. i want to call a function i created in the index.html via a objective-c function. Whats the problem please help me i am atlost!! the help at cachevideo.com is not working because their security captcha cant be displayed and thus i am unable to contact anywhere!!   Hi, Recently I have joined a new project team where in the java application logs have logged messages in a non-formal way[can't think of suitable word]. here how they look :-) <message> for info messages :-| <message> for warn :-( <message> for error besides there's also ASCII art drawing , different one for each log when that particular service starts up or is killed .And there many more styles for certain application events. iam not sure if it has any significant overhead on the application or not. I would like to ask you folks if you come across such unique styles of logging messages or do you also practice any styles.what is your opinion about it. BR /jon

  Hello. I want to handle following scenarios in my new web application. If multiple users log into the application with same credentials, the application should deny access. Since I have out of process session store, I would be able to make out when this situation happens. So I can deny all requests after first successful attempt. This will however not work if the user instead of logging out of the application, closes the browser. The session will continue to reflect in the store for the period of timeout value. If a user attempts to open a new browser windows (Ctrl+N), the application should defeat this attempt. Every new page can potentially fiddle with cookies. I want to therefore deny the users the ability to open new window.

  Hi folks, I have a GWT application and wanna to test load and functionality using a tool like jmeter. I am not sure jmeter is right tool for GWT. Can anybody direct me to proper tool or can tell me how to do it with jmeter? I want to test login functionality: I have two text box 'User name' and 'Password' on login screen and want to test how many users can log in simultaneously, how much time a round trip to server it takes. Don't know how jmeter can get 'user name' and 'password' and can submit it to validate against DB for GWT application? Thanks in advance.

• Bad http connection (400) from Simple Native Iphone App to test .net Web Service

  Dear all, I have written a simple hello world .net web service which will accept 2 parameters and return the parameters as a string. The web service is hosted by IIS on a windows xp pc. I am able to access the web service using safari on the iphone simulator, successfully tested the operation using HTTP POST by clicking the "invoke" button. However, when I use the native app on the iphone simulator, I keep getting a bad http connection error 400 on the IIS log. I have tested my native app with http://viium.com/WebService/HelloWorld.asmx and it works. I have already added Does anyone know what is wrong? Is it some settings that have not configured correctly?
