  • How can I check if a TTTabItem gets selected?

    - by schoash
    I have several TTTabGrids in my view and now I am stuck with the problem, that I can't figure out, how to detect, when a TTTabItem gets touched. If someone selects an item in one of the TTTabGrids I should upadate some labels. Can someone tell me a way how to detect, when the selection in a TTTabGrid gets changed? My code looks like this: @interface MyTTTabGrid : TTTabGrid @end @implementation MyTTTabGrid - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame columns:(NSInteger)columns{ if (self = [super initWithFrame:frame]) { self.style = TTSTYLE(tabGrid); _columnCount = columns; } return self; } @end - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; _tabBarHours = [[MyTTTabGrid alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(10, _tabBarZone.bottom+10, 300, 0) columns:7]; _tabBarHours.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; NSMutableArray *tmpHours = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; int i=6; while (i<20) { [tmpHours addObject:[[[TTTabItem alloc] initWithTitle:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", i]] autorelease]]; i++; } _tabBarHours.tabItems = tmpHours; [_tabBarHours sizeToFit]; [self.view addSubview:_tabBarHours]; [tmpHours release]; }

  • Android Layout + Programming

    - by MD
    I'm trying to create a "scrollable" layout in Android. Even using developers.android.com, though, I feel a little bit lost at the moment. I'm somewhat new to Java, but not so much that I feel I should be having these issues--being new to Android is the bigger problem right now. The layout I'm trying to create should scroll in a sort of a "grid". I THINK what I'm looking for is the Gallery view, but I'm really lost as to how to implement it at the moment. I want it to "snap" to center the frame, like in the actual Gallery application. Essentially, if I had a photo gallery of 9 pictures, the idea is to scroll between them up/down AND side to side, in a 3x3 manner. Doesn't need to dynamically adjust, or anything like that, I just want a grid I can scroll through. I'm also not asking for anyone to give me explicit code for it--I'm trying to learn, more than anything. But pointing me in the right direction for helpful layout programming resources would be greatly appreciated, and confirming if it's a Gallery view I'm looking for would also be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • Httpsession with Spring 3 MVC

    - by vipul12389
    I want to use httpsession in Spring 3 MVC..i have searched all the web and got this solution..at http://forum.springsource.org/showthread.php?98850-Adding-to-stuff-to-the-session-while-using-ResponseBody Basically, My application auto authenticates user by getting winId and authorizes through LDAP..(Its a intranet site) Here is the flow of the application, 1. User enters Aplication url (http://localhost:8082/eIA_Mock_5) it has a welcome page (index.jsp) Index.jsp gets winId through jQuery and hits login.html (through Ajax) and passes windowsId login.html (Controller) authenticates through LDAP and gives back 'Valid' String as a response javascript, upon getting the correct response, redirects/loads welcome page i.e. goes to localhost:8082/eIA_Mock_5/welcome.html Now, i have filter associated with it..which checks for is session valid for each incoming request..Now the problem is even though i set data on to httpsession, yet the filter or any other controller fails to get the data through session as a result it doesnt proceeds further.. here is the code..and could you suggest what is wrong actually ?? Home_Controller.java @Controller public class Home_Controller { public static Log logger = LogFactory.getLog(Home_Controller.class); @RequestMapping(value={"/welcome"}) public ModelAndView loadWelcomePage(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response) { ModelAndView mdv = new ModelAndView(); • Why won't my Setup Project Perform my Custom Registration Process

    - by Jordan S
    I am trying to write an Setup Project/Installer for a class library driver that I wrote in C# using Visual Studio 2008. The driver project has a section of code that looks like this... [ComRegisterFunction] public static void RegisterASCOM(Type t) { Trace.WriteLine("Registration Started."); DoRegistration(true); } In the driver project Properties - "Assembly Information" I have set checked the box that says Make COM-Visible = true. I added a Setup Project to the solution in VS, added the output dll from the driver project so that it installs on the target machine and set the Register property of the dll to "vsdraCOM". So, my understanding is that when the installer runs it SHOULD execute the methods of the dll that are marked with [COMRegisterFunction]. Using SysInternals Debug View I can monitor when the above code snippet is hit by watching for the "Registration started" text to show up in the window. When I build the solution, I can see the text show up so I know the driver is registering properly. The problem is that when I run the installer, I don't think it is doing the registration bit. I see nothing show up in Debug View. And if i try to access my driver via another application I get an error saying it "Cannot create ActiveX object". Why does the registration not occur during the install process? The driver does register for COM but it does NOT call my custom registration method. Does anyone have and suggestions of what I could be missing? Is there another way I can debug this? (I can provide more code if anyone want's to take a look!!)

  • Refactoring Singleton Overuse

    - by drharris
    Today I had an epiphany, and it was that I was doing everything wrong. Some history: I inherited a C# application, which was really just a collection of static methods, a completely procedural mess of C# code. I refactored this the best I knew at the time, bringing in lots of post-college OOP knowledge. To make a long story short, many of the entities in code have turned out to be Singletons. Today I realized I needed 3 new classes, which would each follow the same Singleton pattern to match the rest of the software. If I keep tumbling down this slippery slope, eventually every class in my application will be Singleton, which will really be no logically different from the original group of static methods. I need help on rethinking this. I know about Dependency Injection, and that would generally be the strategy to use in breaking the Singleton curse. However, I have a few specific questions related to this refactoring, and all about best practices for doing so. How acceptable is the use of static variables to encapsulate configuration information? I have a brain block on using static, and I think it is due to an early OO class in college where the professor said static was bad. But, should I have to reconfigure the class every time I access it? When accessing hardware, is it ok to leave a static pointer to the addresses and variables needed, or should I continually perform Open() and Close() operations? Right now I have a single method acting as the controller. Specifically, I continually poll several external instruments (via hardware drivers) for data. Should this type of controller be the way to go, or should I spawn separate threads for each instrument at the program's startup? If the latter, how do I make this object oriented? Should I create classes called InstrumentAListener and InstrumentBListener? Or is there some standard way to approach this? Is there a better way to do global configuration? Right now I simply have Configuration.Instance.Foo sprinkled liberally throughout the code. Almost every class uses it, so perhaps keeping it as a Singleton makes sense. Any thoughts? A lot of my classes are things like SerialPortWriter or DataFileWriter, which must sit around waiting for this data to stream in. Since they are active the entire time, how should I arrange these in order to listen for the events generated when data comes in? Any other resources, books, or comments about how to get away from Singletons and other pattern overuse would be helpful.

  • Html.RadioButton group defaulting to 0

    - by awrigley
    Hi A default value of 0 is creeping into a Surveys app I am developing, for no reason that I can see. The problem is as follows: I have a group of Html.RadioButtons that represent the possible values a user can choose to answer a survey question (1 == Not at all, 2 == A little, 3 == A lot). I have used a tinyint datatype, that does not allow null, to store the answer to each question. The view code looks like this: <ol class="SurveyQuestions"> <% foreach (SurveyQuestion question in Model.Questions) { string col = question.QuestionColumn; %> <li><%=question.QuestionText%> <ul style="float:right;" class="MultiChoice"> <li><%= Html.RadioButton(col, "1")%></li> <li><%= Html.RadioButton(col, "2")%></li> <li><%= Html.RadioButton(col, "3")%></li> </ul> <%= Html.ValidationMessage(col, "*") %> </li> <% } %> </ol> [Note on the above code:] Each survey has about 70 questions, so I have put the questions text in one table, and store the results in a different table. I have put the Questions into my form view model (hence Model.Questions); the questions table has a field called QuestionColumn that allows me to link up the answer table column to the question, as shown above (<%= Html.RadioButton(col, "1")%, etc) [/Note] However, when the user DOESN'T answer the question, the value 0 is getting inserted into the database column. As a result, I don't get what I expect, ie, a validation error. In no place have I stipulated a default value of 0 for the fields in the answers table. So what is happening? Any ideas?

  • ListView in Android, handler for clicking item

    - by eljainc
    Hello, I have an activity in Android which uses a ListView. When I click on an item in the ListView, I would like to be able to determine which item was clicked. I have the following code: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setRequestedOrientation (ActivityInfo.SCREEN_ORIENTATION_PORTRAIT); setContentView(R.layout.listr); //setupDB(); // populateList3(); ListView lv = (ListView) findViewById(R.id.ListView01); lv.setClickable(true); lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() { public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> parent, View view, int position, long id) { Toast.makeText(ListRecords.this,"Clicked!", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); } }); } My XML code: xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/Linear03lr" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical" android:gravity="center" android:layout_height="fill_parent"> android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="400dp" / <Button android:id="@+id/previousbutton" android:gravity="center_horizontal" android:layout_width = "fill_parent" android:layout_height = "fill_parent" android:text="Previous Menu"/> </LinearLayout> What am I missing here to be able to intercept clicks on the Listview?   • What web platform is right for me?

    - by egervari
    I've been looking at web frameworks like Rails, Grails, etc. I'm used to doing applications in Spring Framework with Hibernate... and I want something more productive. One of the things I realized is that while some of the things in Grails is sexy, there are some serious problems with it. Grails' controllers: 1) are implemented awfully. They don't seem to be able to extend from super classes at runtime. I tried this to add base actions and helper methods, and this seems to cause grails to blow up. 2) are based on an obsolete request parameters model (rather than form backing objects, which are much nicer). 3) are hard to test. Command objects are treated totally differently... and it's actually MUCH harder to write the test than it is to write the controller code. 4) Command objects operate totally differently. They are pre-validated and bound, which causes a lot of inconsistencies than basic parameter model. 5) Command objects are not reusable, and it's a pain in the rear to reuse most of the stuff from the domain classes, like constraints and fields. This is TRIVIAL to do in basic Spring. Why the hell was it not trivial to do in Grails? 6) The scaffolding that is generated is pure crap. It doesn't generalize inserts and updates... and it actually copy/pastes a pile of code in two views: create.gsp and edit.gsp. The views themselves are gargantuan piles of doggie do-do. This is further compounded by the fact that it uses low-level parameters and not objects. Integration tests are 30x slower than a Spring integration test. It is disgusting. Some mocking tests are so hard to write and aren't guaranteed to work when it's deployed, that I think it discourages fast, tdd test cycles. Most things seem to screw up grails while it's running, like adding a taglib, or anything really. The server restart problem wasn't solved at all. I'm starting to think going with Spring/Hibernate/Java is the only way to go. While there is a pretty big cost at startup, I know it'll eventually smooth out. It sucks I can't use a language like Scala... because idiomatically, it is so incompatible with Hibernate. This app is also not a run-of-the-mill UI over a database. It's got some of that, but it's not going to be a slouch. I am deathly scared of Grails now because of how crap it is in the Controller layer. Suggestions on what I can do?

  • Can I use drawRect to refresh a UIView subclass?

    - by Timbo
    I've created a subclass of UIView called Status which is designed to display a rectangle of a certain size (within a view) depending on the value of a variable. // Interface #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import <QuartzCore/QuartzCore.h> @interface Status: UIView { NSString* name; int someVariable; } @property int someVariable; @property (assign) NSString *name; - (void) createStatus: (NSString*)withName; - (void) drawRect:(CGRect)rect; @end // Implementation #import "Status.h" @implementation Status @synthesize name, someVariable; - (void) createStatus: (NSString*)withName { name = withName; someVariable = 10000; } - (void) drawRect:(CGRect)rect { CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); //Draw Status CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 1); // fill CGContextFillRect(context, CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, someVariable, 40.0)); } //// myviewcontroller implementation - (void) viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewDidAppear:animated]; myStatus = [[Status alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(8,8,200,56)]; myStatus.backgroundColor = [UIColor grayColor]; [self.view addSubview:myStatus]; } How do I set this up so I can repeatedly call a refresh of the status bar? I'll probably call the refresh 4 times per second using a NSTimer, I'm just not sure what to call or if I should move this rectangle drawing to a separate function or something... Thanks in advance for your help :)

  • Keeping Linq to SQL alive when using ViewModels (ASP.NET MVC)

    - by Kohan
    I have recently started using custom ViewModels (For example, CustomerViewModel) public class CustomerViewModel { public IList<Customer> Customers{ get; set; } public int ProductId{ get; set; } public CustomerViewModel(IList<Customer> customers, int productId) { this.Customers= customers; this.ProductId= productId; } public CustomerViewModel() { } } ... and am now passing them to my view instead of the Entities themselves (for example, var Custs = repository.getAllCusts(id) ) as it seems good practice to do so. The problem i have encountered is that when using ViewModels; by the time it has got to the the view i have lost the ability to lazy load on customers. I do not believe this was the case before using them. Is it possible to retain the ability of Lazy Loading while still using ViewModels? Or do i have to eager load using this method? Thanks, Kohan.

  • Pointcut matching methods with annotated parameters

    - by Sinuhe
    I need to create an aspect with a pointcut matching a method if: - Is public - Its class is annotated with @Controller - One of its parameters (can have many) is annotated with @MyParamAnnotation. I think the first two conditions are easy, but I don't know if its possible to accomplish the third with Spring. If it is not, maybe I can change it into: - One of its parameters is an instance of type com.me.MyType (or implements some interface) Do you think it's possible to achieve this? And will performance be good? Thanks

  • Optimize a views drawing code

    - by xon1c
    Hi, in a simple drawing application I have a model which has a NSMutableArray curvedPaths holding all the lines the user has drawn. A line itself is also a NSMutableArray, containing the point objects. As I draw curved NSBezier paths, my point array has the following structure: linePoint, controlPoint, controlPoint, linePoint, controlPoint, controlPoint, etc... I thought having one array holding all the points plus control points would be more efficient than dealing with 2 or 3 different arrays. Obviously my view draws the paths it gets from the model, which leads to the actual question: Is there a way to optimize the following code (inside the view's drawRect method) in terms of speed? int lineCount = [[model curvedPaths] count]; // Go through paths for (int i=0; i < lineCount; i++) { // Get the Color NSColor *theColor = [model getColorOfPath:[[model curvedPaths] objectAtIndex:i]]; // Get the points NSArray *thePoints = [model getPointsOfPath:[[model curvedPaths] objectAtIndex:i]]; // Create a new path for performance reasons NSBezierPath *path = [[NSBezierPath alloc] init]; // Set the color [theColor set]; // Move to first point without drawing [path moveToPoint:[[thePoints objectAtIndex:0] myNSPoint]]; int pointCount = [thePoints count] - 3; // Go through points for (int j=0; j < pointCount; j+=3) { [path curveToPoint:[[thePoints objectAtIndex:j+3] myNSPoint] controlPoint1:[[thePoints objectAtIndex:j+1] myNSPoint] controlPoint2:[[thePoints objectAtIndex:j+2] myNSPoint]]; } // Draw the path [path stroke]; // Bye stuff [path release]; [theColor release]; } Thanks, xonic

  • Android - Take a photo, save it in app drawables and display it in an ImageButton

    - by Andres7X
    I have an Android app with an ImageButton. When user clicks on it, intent launches to show camera activity. When user capture the image, I'd like to save it in drawable folder of the app and display it in the same ImageButton clicked by the user, replacing the previous drawable image. I used the activity posted here: Capture Image from Camera and Display in Activity ...but when I capture an image, activity doesn't return to activity which contains ImageButton. Edit code is: public void manage_shop() { static final int CAMERA_REQUEST = 1888; [...] ImageView photo = (ImageView)findViewById(R.id.getimg); photo.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Intent camera = new Intent(android.provider.MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE); startActivityForResult(camera, CAMERA_REQUEST); } }); [...] } And onActivityResult(): protected void onActivityResult(int requestCode, int resultCode, Intent data) { ImageButton getimage = (ImageButton)findViewById(R.id.getimg); if (requestCode == CAMERA_REQUEST && resultCode == RESULT_OK) { Bitmap getphoto = (Bitmap) data.getExtras().get("data"); getimage.setImageBitmap(getphoto); } } How can I also store the captured image in drawable folder?

  • PHP what is faster to use

    - by user1631500
    What is faster / better to use? To put html into variables and print them later, or to just html print / echo print the content based on condition? EXAMPLE 1:(html into variables) if(!isset($_SESSION['daddy'])) { $var = "<span class='something'>Go here:<a href='#'>Click</a></span> <span class='something'>Go here:<a href='#'>Click</a></span>" } else { $one=$_SESSION["one"]; $two=$_SESSION["two"]; $three=$_SESSION["three"]; $var = You are cool enough to view the content; } echo $var; EXAMPLE 2:(print based on condition) if(!isset($_SESSION['daddy'])) { $var = 1; } else { $one=$_SESSION["one"]; $two=$_SESSION["two"]; $three=$_SESSION["three"]; $var = 0; } if ($var==1) { ?> <span class='something'>Go here:<a href='#'>Click</a></span> <span class='something'>Go here:<a href='#'>Click</a></span <?php } else { ?> You are cool enough to view the content. <?php } ?>

  • Rendering a CGPDFPage into a UIImage

    - by James Antrobus
    I'm trying to render a CGPDFPage (selected from a CGPDFDocument) into a UIImage to display on a view. I have the following code in MonoTouch which gets me part way there. RectangleF PDFRectangle = new RectangleF(0, 0, UIScreen.MainScreen.Bounds.Width, UIScreen.MainScreen.Bounds.Height); public override void ViewDidLoad () { UIGraphics.BeginImageContext(new SizeF(PDFRectangle.Width, PDFRectangle.Height)); CGContext context = UIGraphics.GetCurrentContext(); context.SaveState(); CGPDFDocument pdfDoc = CGPDFDocument.FromFile("test.pdf"); CGPDFPage pdfPage = pdfDoc.GetPage(1); context.DrawPDFPage(pdfPage); UIImage testImage = UIGraphics.GetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); pdfDoc.Dispose(); context.RestoreState(); UIImageView imageView = new UIImageView(testImage); UIGraphics.EndImageContext(); View.AddSubview(imageView); } A section of the CGPDFPage is displayed but rotated back-to-front and upside down. My question is, how do I select the full pdf page and flip it round to display correctly. I have seen a few examples using ScaleCTM and TranslateCTM but couldn't seem to get them working. Any examples in ObjectiveC are fine, I'll take all the help I can get :) Thanks
