  • jQuery Color **Swatch** Picker

    - by Alan Storm
    Has anyone coded up a jQuery query color picker that lets you pick colors from a predetermined list of colors? Something like a product color picker on an Ecommerce site. Most of the searching I've done reveals a lot of general purpose, pick-any-color-in-the-rgb-spectrum, but few options for picking specific colors.

    - by portoalet
    I am trying to add a ColorPalette into a TooltipDialog, which in turn is contained inside DropDownButton (dojo 1.3.1) Code: var paramsContent = new dijit.layout.ContentPane(); var colorPalette = new dijit.ColorPalette(); var tooltipThematic = new dijit.TooltipDialog({content: paramsContent}); var colorField = new dijit.form.DropDownButton( {label: 'Select Color', dropDown: tooltipThematic } ); How can I add the colorPalette into tooltipThematic? • What would be the best way to dynamically add a set of rows to a table using JQuery?

    - by user312157
    I have a following table using MVC that shows number of items the user has. <table border = "1" id="tblItems"> <% var itemnum = 1; foreach (var item in Model.Items) {%> <tr> <td colspan="2" bgcolor="Silver"><strong>Item#<%=itemnum%></strong></td> <td><%=Html.ActionLink("Delete", "DeleteItem", "Item", new { id = item.ID })%></td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>Name:</strong></td> <td><%=Html.TextBox("ItemName_" + itemnum, item.Name)%></td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>Description:</strong></td> <td><%=Html.TextBox("ItemDescription_" + itemnum, item.Description)%></td> </tr> <%itemnum++; } %> </table> I will have a button that will Add New Item that will dynamically add identical structure. Any ideas on what is the best way to do this using JQuery? Thanks for all the suggestions!

  • Html combo box to database record Id

    - by LanguaFlash
    I'm fairly sure there has to be a simple solution to my problem, but I am a new web developer and can't quite figure it out. On my page I have a combo box whose values are filled from my database. When the user submits the form, how to I go about converting those values back to the record numbers in the database? Up to now I have been just doing a sort of reversed lookup in my database to try to get the record's ID. This has quite a few obvious flaws and I am sure that there has to be a better way. I am used to MS Forms combo boxes where the record data and ID are never separated. But in the case of a web form, I have no way to do multiple columns in the combo box like I am used to. Thanks! Jeff

  • jQuery internals: Organization of the jQuery Object

    - by sonofdelphi
    I was going through the source code of jQuery. I'm having trouble understanding the wrapping strategy for the jQuery object. (function( window, undefined ) { // Define a local copy of jQuery var jQuery = function( selector, context ) { // The jQuery object is actually just the init constructor 'enhanced' return new jQuery.fn.init( selector, context ); }, .... .... .... // Expose jQuery to the global object window.jQuery = window.$ = jQuery; })(window); Specifically, what I'm not able to understand stems from the first line. What is the outermost unnamed container function? Why is it required? Why is the container function anonymous? What is the need for the outermost '(' parantheses ?

  • Jquery Basic Beginner Question: How do i make my function reusable?

    - by obikodi
    I have spent the last few hours attempting to do this on my own, and using Google to find a solution but to no avail. So if you can help out i would super appreciate it! Basically I have a page which has 3 separate biographies in 'preview mode', which shows only the first paragraph of each bio. When you click on 'read more' for one bio it opens up the 'full mode'. What is happening at the moment, is if i click on one 'read more' link, it opens up the full mode on all 3 bio's. How do i edit the following code so; It only opens the full mode bio of the link i click on Make it reusable so i don't have to duplicate the code 3 times for each bio $("a#btnReadMore").click(function(){ $('.readMoreSlider').slideToggle("fast"); $(this).toggleClass("readMoreSliderActive"); return false; }); Thanks for your help!

  • CasperJS Load next page in loop

    - by SquiresSquire
    I've been working on a script which collates the scores for a list of user from a website. One problem is though, I'm trying to load the next page in the while loop, but the function is not being loaded... this.thenOpen("http://www.url.com?ul=" + currentName + "&sortdir=desc&sort=lastfound", function (id) { return function () { this.capture("Screenshots/" + json.username[id] + ".png"); if (!casper.exists(x("//*[contains(text(), 'That username does not exist in the system')]"))) { if (casper.exists(x('//*[@id="ctl00_ContentBody_ResultsPanel"]/table[2]'))){ this.thenEvaluate(tgsagc.tagNextLink); tgsagc.cacheCount = 0; tgsagc.continue = true; this.echo("------------ " + json.username[id] + " ------------"); while (tgsagc.continue) { this.then(function(){ this.evaluate(tgsagc.tagNextLink); var findDates, pageNumber; pageNumber = this.evaluate(tgsagc.pageNumber); findDates = this.evaluate(tgsagc.getFindDates); this.echo("Found " + findDates.length + " on page " + pageNumber); tgsagc.checkFinds(findDates); this.echo(tgsagc.cacheCount + " Caches for " + json.username[id]); this.echo("Continue? " + tgsagc["continue"]); return this.click("#tgsagc-link-next"); }); } leaderboard[json.username[id]] = tgsagc.cacheCount; console.log("Final Count: " + leaderboard[json.username[id]]); console.log(JSON.stringify(leaderboard)); } else { this.echo("------------ " + json.username[id] + " ------------"); this.echo("0 Caches Found"); leaderboard[json.username[id]] = 0; console.log(JSON.stringify(leaderboard)); } } else { this.echo("------------ " + json.username[id] + " ------------"); this.echo("No User found with that Username"); leaderboard[json.username[id]] = null; console.log(JSON.stringify(leaderboard)); }

  • How can I specify my own Rhino context in Java?

    - by Dan Howard
    I'm trying to ensure that my Rhino scripts (running under Java 6) are strict so that if a script developer misspells an expression I want an exception to be thrown. Currently what happens is the expression simply evaluates to "undefined". Now according to Mozilla org https://developer.mozilla.org/en/New_in_Rhino_1.6R6 there are features to enable strict checking in the context. I cannot find a working example of this. What I did so far was write a class to extend ContextFactory and then override the hasFeature method. public class ScriptContextFactory extends ContextFactory { protected boolean hasFeature(Context context, int featureIndex) { switch (featureIndex) { case Context.FEATURE_STRICT_EVAL: return true; case Context.FEATURE_STRICT_VARS: return true; } return super.hasFeature(context, featureIndex); } } Then in the Main I set mine to the default. ContextFactory.initGlobal(new ScriptContextFactory()); and I get an illegal state exception. :( Any ideas or samples on how this works? TIA

  • jQuery - iGoogle style interface

    - by samhamilton
    Hi all, I'm currently working on developing a customizable website layout using jQuery, so I can drag, drop, add and remove blocks of content... much like the iGoogle interface. I have my blocks dragging and dropping working with 3 columns of content My question is to do with adding and removing blocks If I use hide(), I can simply hide and show the blocks. If I use remove, I would have to append the list of blocks to load in a new block into a column. I'm not sure which is the best approach to take. I'd be grateful for any advice on best practise, i.e. to hide() or remove() and any other advice on building this kind of interface. Thank, Sam.

  • merging two small pieces of jquery codes

    - by Billa
    Following are two pieces of jquery code. First one prints a text message when clicked on a link, and the second slides down a div when click on a link. I want to merge second code into first one, so that when I click the link, it displays the message (as the first code does), and also slides down the #votebox (as done in second code, and show content in that. I will be very thankful for any help. $("a.vote_up").click(function(){ the_id = $(this).attr('id'); $("span#votes_count"+the_id).fadeOut("fast"); $.ajax({ type: "POST", data: "action=vote_up&id="+$(this).attr("id"), url: "votes.php", success: function(msg) { $("span#votes_up"+the_id).fadeOut(); $("span#votes_up"+the_id).html(msg); $("span#votes_up"+the_id).fadeIn(); //Here, I want to slide down the votebox and content div (from code below). } }); }); The following code slides down votebox div and displays content in it, I want to include that in the above code. $("a.vote_up").click(function(){ var id=$(this).attr("id"); var name=$(this).attr("name"); var dataString = 'id='+ id + '&name='+ name; //I want to include this votebox in above code. $("#votebox").slideDown("slow"); $("#flash").fadeIn("slow"); $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "rating.php", data: dataString, cache: false, success: function(html){ $("#flash").fadeOut("slow"); //and want to use this div as well. $("#content").html(html); } }); }); Thanks for any help.

  • How to make some functions of a class as private for third level of inheritance.

    - by Shantanu Gupta
    I have created a class say A which has some functions defined as protected. Now Class B inherits A and class C inherits B. Class A has private default constructor and protected parameterized constructor. I want Class B to be able to access all the protected functions defined in Class A but class C can have access on some of the functions only not all the functions and class C is inheriting class B. How can I restrict access to some of the functions of Class A from Class C ? Class A { private A(){} protected A(int ){} protected calc(){} protected allow(){} } Class B : A {} // calc() and allow() should be accessible here CLass C:B { // calc() should not be accessible here but allow() should be accessible here. }

  • URL tracking functionality

    - by Mika H.
    I want my webpage to have two parts. The top part has a textbox. When the user types a URL into the textbox, the bottom part browses to the content of that URL. When the user clicks a link within the bottom part, the bottom part navigates to the new URL, and the textbox in the top part changes to the new URL. How can I do it? NOTE: This behavior is the same as in Google Translate (e.g. here), but without any translation.

  • Printable Version of Google Visualizations DataTable

    - by maleki
    I have a custom routing application that takes information for a route from google maps. It then creates a Google Visualizations DataTable to hold all the steps in the route. My current problem is that in order to reduce overflow for very large routes, I have enabled paging in the options of the DataTable. This leads to a not so printer friendly version because only the portion of the data that is shown in the table will be printed. The other portions of the table are loaded dynamically by the API when you click prev and next. Is there a not so hard way to get the DataTable to be printer friendly when it comes time without sacrificing the ability to have paging enabled?

  • customise jQuery totemticker plugin

    - by Don
    I'm using the totemticker jQuery plugin, but need to be able to stop it programatically. It doesn't seem to provide this feature, so I had a look at the source code to see if I could add it myself. It seems that all I need to do is figure out how to call base.stop_interval() However, I can't seem to make the object that is stored in base accessible to callers. I've made a couple of unsuccesful atttempts, but hopefully someone who knows a bit more about how jQuery plugins work can point me in the right direction.
