All plugins either have too many advanced options that I don't require and have already styled tooltips that might be difficult to modify. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

  • Detect click events outside div inside usercontrol

    I have a div inside a user control that is displayed by the user after some event. I want to hide this div when user clicks anywhere elese on the page but not on the div (or not on any element that is inside the div). If it wasn't a user control I could use body's clieck event to check the target, but because this is usercontrol that is hosted by other page I can't just "play" with it's elements. How can I achieve that without using body of the hosting page?

  • Resources for looking up differences in rendering behavior between web-browsers and browser bugs

    I recently encountered a printing issue in Firefox that eventually turned out to be a problem with the fieldset tag we wrapped the entire page in. (Bugzilla: Bug 471015) All browsers have their own rendering quirks and issues, but it can be very hard to know what's causing different behaviors. Sure, you can Google, but that's often taking a shot in the dark about what you think is causing the problem. It also doesn't stop you from having to sort through multiple complains about the same behavior before you find someone who has the issue your looking for. Are there any websites out there that let you search for rendering behavior issues by browser version, browser function, css tag, or html tag? I've seen this SO Question, Wanted: Resource for documented Cross-Browser differences, but I'd like to find something more detailed that includes browser bugs.

    Hi, I have a Firefox 3.6.2 problem (3.5.x works just fine).   • Having issues when trying to insert an ajax response which is an html block into an element on IE 8

    Hello Everyone just like my title states, I am having issues with IE8 and innerHTML. For whatever reason, when I make an ajax call which returns an html block and try to insert it into an element using innerHTML, the browser gives me an error "Unknown Error Code: 0". The interesting part of this is that, if the message response does not have html element, innerHTML works. My code is like so: setTimeout(function() { element.innerHTML = context.response.message; }, 1000).bind(context) WORKS: context.response.message = 'String'; Does not WORK: context.response.message = '<p>String</p>';

    I have a custom UIImageView class that creates thumbnails (UIImageView) and each thumbnail has a label. The label is created by another class. The label class creates a UIImageView and a UITextView on top of it. This is the init object class' init method: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if ([super initWithFrame:frame] == nil) { return nil; } CGRect myFrame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 100, 100); myLabel = [[myLabelClass alloc] initWithFrame: myFrame]; //myLabelClass is a UIImageView based class [myLabel setCenter:CGPointMake(50, 50)]; [self addSubview: myLabel]; return self; } So, I have this MAIN VIEW CONTROLLER | |___ UIImageView WITH LABEL | |____ label background (UIView) |____ UITEXTVIEW (text) Now I want to write the contents of all these 3 components to a quartz context. I need to write using drawInRect, because I need to write the full object to a precise location. I expected object.layer.contents to be the image equivalent to these 3 "layers" flattened, in other words, the object's image, the label background and the label text, as it would if I created these 3 objects in Photoshop and flatten the composition. I also expect object.myLabel.layer.contents to contains the rendered contents of the UITextView over the label background. The problem is that when I use UIImage *myImage = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:objecto.myLabel.layer.contents]; [myImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, 100, 100)]; I get nothing. How can I obtain a "flattened" image resultant to the full object (including its subviews)? thanks

  • How to skip to next iteration in jQuery.each() util?

    I'm trying to iterate through an array of elements. jQuery's documentation says: jquery.Each() documentation Returning non-false is the same as a continue statement in a for loop, it will skip immediately to the next iteration. I've tried calling 'return non-false;' and 'non-false;' (sans return) neither of which skip to the next iteration. Instead, they break the loop. What am i missing?

    Is there anyway of retrieving coordinates through google search? right now my search is able to have markers on the map, but however i do not have any idea how to retrieve coordinates through just the search api alone. I have a html page named mapsToolKit.html and two js scripts with maps.js and search.js, i want the coding to be in search.js, so far i have managed to done in the maps section but is there anyway to retrieve it back through the search.js part?

  • jQuery.keypad Performance Issues

    I am working on a Kiosk Touch Screen application and using the JQuery.keypad plugin and noticing some major performance issues. If you click a number of buttons in rapid succession the CPU gets pegged, the button clicks don't keep up with the clicking and some button presses even get lost. On my dev machine this isn't as noticeable, but on the Kiosk itself with 1 gig of ram it's painful. Trying the demo keypad at http://keith-wood.name/keypad.html#inline the one with multiple targets (which is the case with mine) has the exact same issues. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we might be able to improve this? The Kiosk runs in Firefox only so something specific to that would work. I'm using v1.2.1 of jquery.keypad and just upgraded to v1.4.2 of jquery.

  • Float Issue in IE

    Ok I am making a simulated OS type interface. It should open up windows and have a drag handle. This all works perfectly. Then I added a image for an exit button I floated to the right... this made IE mad and IE screwed with the sizing and positioning =[ I've tried a crap load of things. None of which work.   • Stream PDF to another local App

    Hi, I'm currently trying to optimize a small firefox extension that will grab a pdf off the current document and send it to a port that another local application is listening on. Right now it uses a terrifying hackjob of cache viewer. The way I'm getting it is loading the cache, searching through it using the current URL and grabbing the file and saving it to a temp directory. Then I stream the file in, delete the temp, and send it through the socket. Now, my new design, ideally I'd want to build it from scratch and cut out saving it to the local machine at all, and just stream it through the socket. I've been looking at doing something like, //check page to ensure its a pdf //init in/out streams //stream through sock //flush Now, this would be vastly superior to the 400 line hacked up mess I have now, but I'm new to building FF extensions, and after reading a lot about URIs and the file streaming and such I'm probably more confused than when I started trying to fix this three hours ago. I'm okay with sending things through the sockets and whatnot, I understand that, I'm mainly confused about what multitude of interfaces I want to use. Gah! Thanks! Is this the best way to do this, or is there some kind of nifty jQuery method that you prefer?

    Hello. I have a problem: When I enter a text into suggestion text box, popup panel appears. But when user places mouse over this popup panel with suggestions - text box loses focus.   • Detecting own posts on Facebook from a Chrome extension perspective

    I want to create a Chrome extension that will automatically like every post I make on Facebook. My question is, how can I detect when I post something, and if that post if mine? Is there an event that occurs or something? (And just for the record, I know that these sorts of things are impossible when other apps post on my behalf, at least from an extension perspective. So I'm only concentrating on posts that I actually click the "post" button, or enter for, myself.)
