How to rotate the text of a wx.StaticText?

Hello, I want to write a Static Text with an upside down ^ How can I do it? Thanks in advance :)

My question is this: I am wanting to align all the texboxes so that they are aligned. I have added spaces after the text, yet the textboxes just appear straight after the text, ignoring the spaces that I entered. What is the best, most effective way to do this? Maybe a table? thanks

He only knows, that it is some how connected to word settings. How could he search for that table name then? Text is a string property data bound to the text property of a textbox and VerticalOffset is a double property data bound to the VerticalOffset property of that same textbox. I need to save the VerticalOffset before and after the hiding of selected text takes place, but with my code below both hiddenTextContainer.PreHideVerticalOffset and hiddenTextContainer.ImmediatePostHideVerticalOffset are always set to the same value no matter what. I have figured out that this is because the text of the textbox has not been updated by the time the code reaches: hiddenTextContainer.ImmediatePostHideVerticalOffset = VerticalOffset; Is there any way I can fix this?

Hi all, I was doing some self learning on CakePHP 1.26 with Mysql 5. I got a simple table with only one field and had applied "Not Null" to this field. This field in the table was corresponding to a Input text box in a HTML form. I tried not to enter anything into the Input text field, and then I saw that empty data was able to be stored into the Table even if "Not Null" had been applied to this field. I am confused of this result. Could you help me please?

There some articles about the fastest way to write data using Excel interop assigning directly an Array of data to the value of the range. Can I float a block of text like an image?

If you change "float:right" to "float:left" in this W3schools example, you'll get an image floating to the left of the paragraph. I want to do the same thing with a block of text. The purpose is to be able to have little annotations to the left of paragraphs. If you know of any way to do this, I'd be very grateful. I'd be really grateful (and amazed) if there were a way to place this annotation midway in a paragraph and have text flow around it. I've searched all over for an answer but possibly don't know how to ask the question so that search engines can help me. So now I'm appealing to humans!!

How can I write my code to attempt a database action but continue executing code on failure?

Simple question I guess, I want to use PHP to write an update to an existing row in my database, if it doesn't happen I want to log the failure but continue executing the code. While it would be nice to have records of failures to track down issues, that the update failed isn't that important to my user, nor will it affect the running of any other code; the query is simply for a 'cosmetic' but entirely unnecessary piece of information. My database class's query function is set to die on failure, could I modify that or is there another way of doing it without altering my standard query code?

Once a feature has shipped, it is very hard to eliminate it from the next release. If I was in charge of the PowerPoint product, I would not hesitate for a second to remove the dreadful AutoFit feature. Fortunately, AutoFit can be turned off on a slide-by-slide basis and, even better, globally: go to the PowerPoint "Options" and under "Proofing" find the "AutoCorrect Options…" button which brings up the dialog where you need to uncheck the last two checkboxes (see the screenshot to the right). AutoFit is the ability for the user to keep hitting the Enter key as they type more and more text into a slide and it magically still fits, by shrinking the space between the lines and then the text font size. It is the root of all slide evil. It encourages people to think of a slide as a Word document (which may be your goal, if you are presenting to execs in Microsoft, but that is a different story). AutoFit is the reason you fall asleep in presentations. AutoFit causes too much text to appear on a slide which by extension causes the following: When the slide appears, the text is so small so it is not readable by everyone in the audience. They dismiss the presenter as someone who does not care for them and then they stop paying attention. If the text is readable, but it is too much (hence the AutoFit feature kicked in when the slide was authored), the audience is busy reading the slide and not paying attention to the presenter. Humans can either listen well or read well at the same time, so when they are done reading they now feel that they missed whatever the speaker was saying. So they "switch off" for the rest of the slide until the next slide kicks in, which is the natural point for them to pick up paying attention again. Every slide ends up with different sized text. The less visual consistency between slides, the more your presentation feels unprofessional. You can do better than dismiss the (subconscious) negative effect a deck with inconsistent slides has on an audience. In contrast, the absence of AutoFit Leads to consistency among all slides in a deck with regards to amount of text and size of said text. Ensures the text is readable by everyone in the audience (presuming the PowerPoint template is designed for the room where the presentation is delivered). Encourages the presenter to create slides with the minimum necessary text to help the audience understand the basic structure, flow, and key points of the presentation. The "meat" of the presentation is delivered verbally by the presenter themselves, which is why they are in the room in the first place. Following on from the previous point, the audience can at a quick glance consume the text on the slide when it appears and then concentrate entirely on the presenter and what they have to say. You could argue that everything above has nothing to do with the AutoFit feature and all to do with the advice to keep slide content short. You would be right, but the on-by-default AutoFit feature is the one that stops most people from seeing and embracing that truth. In other words, the slides are the tool that aids the presenter in delivering their message, instead of the presenter being the tool that advances the slides which hold the message. To get there, embrace terse slides: the first step is to turn off this horrible feature (that was probably introduced due to the misuse of this tool within Microsoft). SQL Server source control from Visual Studio

Developers have long since had to context switch between two IDEs, Visual Studio for application code development and SQL Server Management Studio for database development. While this is accepted, especially given the richness of the database development feature set in SSMS, loading a separate tool can seem a little overkill. This is where SQL Connect comes in. This is an add-in to Visual Studio that provides a connected development experience for the SQL Server developer. Connected database development involves modifying a development sandbox database, as opposed to offline development, where SQL text files are modified independently of the database. One of the main complaints of Data Dude (VS DBPro) is that it enforces the offline approach. This gripe is what SQL Connect addresses. If you don't already use SQL Source Control, you can get up and running with SQL Connect by adding a new project to your Visual Studio solution as follows: Then choose your existing development database and you're ready to go. If you already use SQL Source Control, you will need to link SQL Connect to your existing database scripts folder repository, so SQL Connect and SQL Source Control can be used collaboratively (note that SQL Source Control v.3.0.9.18 or later is required). Locate the repository (this can be found in the Setup tab in SQL Source Control). .and create a working folder for it (here I'm using TortoiseSVN). Back in Visual Studio, locate the SQL Connect panel (in the View menu if it hasn't auto loaded) and select Import SQL Source Control project Locate your working folder and click Import. This creates a Red Gate database project under your solution: From here you can modify your development database, and manage your changes in source control. To associate your development database with the project, right click on the project node, select Properties, set the database and Save. Now you're ready to make some changes. Locate the object you'd like to modify in the Solution Explorer, and double click it to invoke a query window or table designer. You also have the option to edit the creation SQL directly using Edit SQL File in Project. Keeping the development database and Visual Studio project in sync is as easy as clicking on a button. One you've made your change, you can use whichever mechanism you choose to commit to source control. Here I'm using the free open-source AnkhSVN to integrate Subversion with Visual Studio. Maintaining your database in a Visual Studio solution means that you can commit database changes and application code changes in the same changeset. This is desirable if you have continuous integration set up as you want to ensure that all files related to a change are committed atomically, so you avoid an interim "broken build". Unity GUI not in build, but works fine in editor

I have: GUITexture attached to an object A script that has GUIStyles created for the Textfield and Buttons that are created in OnGUI(). This script is attached to the same object in number 1 3 GUIText objects each separate from the above. A script that enables the GUITexture and the script in number 1 and 2 respectively This is how it is supposed to work: When I cross the finish line, number 4 script enables number 1 GUITexture component and number 2 script component. The script component uses one of number 3's GUIText objects to show you your best lap time, and also makes a GUI.Textfield for name entry and 2 GUI.Buttons for "Submit" and "Skip". If you hit "Submit" the script will submit the time. No matter which button you press, The remaining 2 GUIText objects from number 3 will show you the top 10 best times. For some reason, when I run it in editor, everything works 100%, but when I'm in different kinds of builds, the results vary. When I am in a webplayer, The GUITexture and the textfield and buttons appear, but the textfield and buttons are plain and have no evidence of GUIStyles. When I click one of the buttons, the score gets submitted but I do not get the fastest times showing. When I am in a standalone build, the GUITexture shows up, but nothing else does. If I remove the GUIStyle parameter of the GUI.Textfield and GUI.Button, they show up. Why am I getting these variations and how can I fix it? What do I need in order to extract and combine text files from multiple ZIP files, via command line?

I've got an interesting scripting challenge in front of me. I'm fairly certain there's a way to do it, but I feel like I'm probably lacking some particular tools and/or functional knowledge. There's some fifty-plus ZIP files that each contain, among other things, text files that need to be merged with one another. The structure is something like this: C:\Reports\FirstJob-1.zip |-MyName |-FirstJob |-1 |-[Some other folders] |-TXTReports |-English |-[Some other files] |-Report.txt C:\Reports\FirstJob-2.zip |-MyName |-FirstJob |-1 |-[Some other folders] |-TXTReports |-English |-[Some other files] |-Report.txt C:\Reports\SecondJob-1.zip |-MyName |-SecondJob |-1 |-[Some other folders] |-TXTReports |-English |-[Some other files] |-Report.txt If I had all the Report.txt files in one regular folder, and uniquely named, I could probably just write a FOR statement that targets *.txt and runs something like type filename.txt >> Consolidated.txt on each. However, these all have the same file name and are embedded deep within separate ZIP files. The potentially useful tools I currently have at my disposal are Windows XP Professional SP3, PowerShell, and WinZip. I'd rather not download or install anything else, but I do understand that third-party tools (or additional tools from Microsoft or WinZip) may be necessary. Whatever tools I use should run natively in Windows. I really don't want to have to mess with Cygwin or other emulators on this system. At the very least, I need a tool that will allow me to analyze and manipulate ZIP files from the command line. Also, are there any other particular complications to this that I've not yet thought of?

I have a Lighttpd server (on Centos) and would like to display 4 graphs: lighttpd traffic, lighttpd requests per second, CPU usage and MEM usage. What could cause the file command in Linux to report a text file as data?

I have a couple of C++ source files (one .cpp and one .h) that are being reported as type data by the file command in Linux. When I run the file -bi command against these files, I'm given this output (same output for each file): application/octet-stream; charset=binary Each file is clearly plain-text (I can view them in vi). What's causing file to misreport the type of these files? Could it be some sort of Unicode thing? Both of these files were created in Windows-land (using Visual Studio 2005), but they're being compiled in Linux (it's a cross-platform application). Any ideas would be appreciated. Update: I don't see any null characters in either file. I found some extended characters in the .cpp file (in a comment block), removed them, but file still reports the same encoding. I've tried forcing the encoding in SlickEdit, but that didn't seem to have an effect. When I open the file in vim, I see a [converted] line as soon as I open the file. Perhaps I can get vim to force the encoding?

Can I get all active directory passwords in clear text using reversible encryption?

EDIT: Can anybody actually answer the question? Thanks, I don't need no audit trail, I WILL know all the passwords and users can't change them and I will continue to do so. This is not for hacking! We recently migrated away from a old and rusty Linux/Samba domain to an active directory. We had a custom little interface to manage accounts there. It always stored the passwords of all users and all service accounts in cleartext in a secure location (Of course, many of you will certainly not think of this a being secure, but without real exploits nobody could read that) and disabled password changing on the samba domain controller. In addition, no user can ever select his own passwords, we create them using pwgen. We don't change them every 40 days or so, but only every 2 years to reward employees for really learning them and NOT writing them down. We need the passwords to e.g. go into user accounts and modify settings that are too complicated for group policies or to help users. These might certainly be controversial policies, but I want to continue them on AD. Now I save new accounts and their PWGEN-generated (pwgen creates nice sounding random words with nice amounts of vowels, consonants and numbers) manually into the old text-file that the old scripts used to maintain automatically. How can I get this functionality back in AD? I see that there is "reversible encryption" in AD accounts, probably for challenge response authentication systems that need the cleartext password stored on the server. Is there a script that displays all these passwords? That would be great. (Again: I trust my DC not to be compromised.) Or can I have a plugin into AD users&computers that gets a notification of every new password and stores it into a file? On clients that is possible with GINA-dlls, they can get notified about passwords and get the cleartext.
