  • NHibernate handling mutliple resultsets from a sp call

    I'm using a stored procedure to handle search on my site, it includes full text searching, relevance and paging. I also wanted it to return the total number of results that would have been returned, had paging not being there. So I've now got my SP returning 2 select statements, the search and just SELECT @totalResults. Is there any way I can get NHibernate to handle this? I'm currently accessing the ISession's connection, creating a command and executing the SP myself, and mapping the results. This isn't ideal, so I'm hoping I can get NH to handle this for me. Or if anyone has any other better ways of creating complicated searches etc with NH, I'd really like to hear it.

  • Does Marshal.ReleaseComObject call the garbage collector ?

    Hi, I was asked this question today by a colleague, and couldn't find any clue on the Internet... Can someone tell me if calling Marshall.ReleaseComObject()directly calls the garbage collector ? As I understand it, it only removes COM references, and then the G.C. cleans memory on its next pass, but I can be mistaken... Thanks in advance for your help!

  • PHP set timeout for script with system call, set_time_limit not working

    I have a command-line PHP script that runs a wget request using each member of an array with foreach. This wget request can sometimes take a long time so I want to be able to set a timeout for killing the script if it goes past 15 seconds for example. I have PHP safemode disabled and tried set_time_limit(15) early in the script, however it continues indefinitely. Update: Thanks to Dor for pointing out this is because set_time_limit() does not respect system() calls. So I was trying to find other ways to kill the script after 15 seconds of execution. However, I'm not sure if it's possible to check the time a script has been running while it's in the middle of a wget request at the same time (a do while loop did not work). Maybe fork a process with a timer and set it to kill the parent after a set amount of time? Thanks for any tips!     Hello everyone, Here is the thing. I currently have a tabBar controller, with several navigation controllers in it. Just like this : http://tof.canardpc.com/view/d27d1361-c81b-43a0-9b5b-abb13d78e422.jpg In my first navigation controller, i have a view controller called NewsViewsController. Here is its nib (see picture). My goal is to show/hide the subviews (with tableview inside) according to the position of the segmented control. This way, I can have two separates viewControllers for each tableview. This is actually working. And here is the result (see picture). My problem is the following one. When i try to click on a cell, the pushview doesn't work. Indeed my self.navigationController is null. How can i push my detail view using the parent navigation controller ? Is the architecture of my application wrong ? Thank you =)

  • UIAlertView won't rotate to landscape even with applicationDidFinishLaunching call

    I am trying to use UIAlertView on my landscape right (home button on the right) app but it is showing up in portrait orientation. I have tried putting: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarOrientation: UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight animated: NO ]; in applicationDidFinishLaunching, but it doesn't work. Are there any other usual suspects to what might be causing this? I am setting the orientation through my plist file currently.

    Tornado enables win32 support by faking Python's fcntl function using SetHandleInformation, which is available via ctypes on Windows. After some other small fixes, this actually works using IronPython on Windows as well (sadly, IronPython is five times slower). I'd like to get Tornado working on any CLI platform, such using Mono on OSX or Linux. Is there a managed, cross-platform, .Net approach that can fake fcntl?     I have a SwingWorker as follows: public class MainWorker extends SwingWorker(Void, MyObject) { : : } I invoked the above Swing Worker from EDT: MainWorker mainWorker = new MainWorker(); mainWorker.execute(); Now, the mainWorker creates 10 instances of a MyTask class so that each instance will run on its own thread so as to complete the work faster. But the problem is I want to update the gui from time to time while the tasks are running. I know that if the task was executed by the mainWorker itself, I could have used publish() and process() methods to update the gui. But as the tasks are executed by threads different from the Swingworker thread, how can I update the gui from intermediate results generated by threads executing tasks.

  • ASP.NET MVC - PartialView html not changing via jQuery html() call

    When I change the selection in a DropDownList, a PartialView gets updated via a GET request. When updating the PartialView via the jQuery html() function, the html returned is correct but when it displayed in the browser it is not correct. For example, certain checkboxes within the PartialView should become enabled but they remain disabled even though the html returned says they should be. When I do a view source in the browser the html never gets updated. I'm a little perplexed. Thoughts?     I have multiple document.ready functions on a page and I want a function to be called when all my document.ready functions have been executed. I simply want the function to be called at the very end, after all other document.ready functions have executed. An example of this could be that each document.ready function increments a global variable when it has been executed, and the last function needs to check the value of that variable at the very end.   • crude Runtime.exec to call java -cp not working in linux

    I'm using a java process to spawn many other java processes using Runtime.exec(cmd) where cmd is like the following: java -cp "MyJar.jar" pkg.MyClass some-more-arguments running the same command from the command line works fine in windows and linux, however when my spawning java process calls the command via Runtime.exec it works in windows but not in linux. in linux i get Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: pkg/MyClass any ideas?
