• New form on a different thread

  So I have a thread in my application, which purpose is to listen to messages from the server and act according to what it recieves. I ran into a problem when I wanted to fire off a message from the server, that when the client app recieves it, the client app would open up a new form. However this new form just freezes instantly. I think what's happening is that the new form is loaded up on the same thread as the thread listening to the server, which of course is busy listening on the stream, in turn blocking the thread. Normally, for my other functions in the clients listening thread, I'd use invokes to update the UI of the main form, so I guess what I'm asking for is if here's a way to invoke a new form on the main form.

• Core Data-Linking one-to-many relationships

  I have a one-to-many relationship where each department has many employees. When I create a new employee object I just link it to the parent department manually by setting the property to the instance of the department I have fetched from my fetch request. However, this seems to be improper because when I try to access the set of employees from the department by simply accessing the .employees property on my department object instance it returns a 0 count. Isn't the fault suppose to fire once I access a property? Am I linking my parent/child objects incorrectly?

• How can I use "IF statements" in a postgres trigger

  I have a trigger function that I only want to fire on certain instances of INSERTS, in this case, if do_backup = true. If it fires in all instances, I get an infinite loop. The logic seems pretty simple to me, and the rest of the function works. But the trigger function does not seem to register my conditional and always runs, even when backup = true.   Hi guys, I've just updated my nexus one to 2.2...now all of my (own and some from the market) apps throw exceptions and were closed... It's weird, in the app i'm developing atm, there it displays only my start page with buttons, but when i tap on one button to fire an intent to another activity my app gets closed with an exception. Yesterday before the update everything worked fine... The same thing in my emulator: I have two devices, one with API level 7 and one with level 8...Level 7 worked fine, but level 8 killed my app :( What is the problem and how can I solve this? I'm desperatly trying to get it working again :( I hope someone can help me fixing this

So the query is, if we design the trigger, how can we make sure this dynamic thing happens.. As during the stored procedure, it is not workingg.. • How do I execute an action in drupal after each time a node is saved?

  I'm developing an Action in Drupal which is supposed to activate after saving a node, exporting content to XML (which includes data from the node that was just saved), using the "Trigger: After saving an updated post" trigger. Unfortunately this action actually happens right before the information from the recently saved post is saved to the database. ie. when looking at the XML later, I find that the most recent change I made was not included. Saving after editing a different node will restore the previously missing data. How can I get my action to fire after the saving process is complete?

  I have a partial view that is rendered within a main view. The partial view takes advantage of System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations and Html.EnableClientValidation(). A link is clicked, and div containing the partial view is displayed within a JQuery.Dialog(). I then click the save button without entering any text in my validated input field. This causes the client side validation to fire as expected, and display the '*required' message beside the invalid field. When the cancel button is clicked, I want to reset the client side MVC validation back to it's default state and remove any messages, ready for when the user opens the dialog again. Is there a recommended way of doing this?

  Here is my situation and my constraints: I am using Java 5, JDBC, and DB2 9.5 My database table contains a BIGINT value which represents the primary key. For various reasons that are too complicated to go into here, the way I insert records into the table is by executing an insert against a VIEW; an INSTEAD OF trigger retrieves the NEXT_VAL from a SEQUENCE and performs the INSERT into the target table. I can change the triggers, but I cannot change the underlying table or the general approach of inserting through the view. I want to retrieve the sequence value from JDBC as if it were a generated key. Question: How can I get access to the value pulled from the SEQUENCE. Is there some message I can fire within DB2 to float this sequence value back to the JDBC driver?

I create events like: OnEdit OnCreate OnDelete PreCreate PreDelete Now I want someone to be able to hook into these events, and add their custom functionality at each event they wish. I don't want them touching the core source code, so they would have to wire these custom methods to fire somewhere else. I'm new to both python and django so please be as detailed as possible if you can.

• [.net] Treeview prevent Node collapse (weird problem)

  Hey guyz! I have a .net 2.0 C# Project. I have a Treeview with 2 Nodes, each of them has many child nodes. When you click on a child node, a PDF is displayed in a webbrowser control depending on the properties of the node. Fine, but the problem is that when both Nodes are expanded, and I click on a child node, the other node gets collapsed! I don't have any code that collapses any node of the treeview, but somehow it happens! I also had a look at the BeforeCollapse Event, but somehow it doesn't fire, alltough the other node collapses! Can anyone imagine why this happens? I would be very grateful if anyone can teach me how to prevent this happening! Thank you very much!

• Limiting Subscriptions to be emailed using SSRS

  Currently, our system will do a "foreach" over all Subscriptions which are returned from the ListSubscriptions method of ReportingService and fire a Timed Subscription event so that they receive the report as an email. In our dev environment, I don't want every subscription of these reports to be sent out when we are testing. Is there a way I can create a new subscription with my own email address being used so that I receive the report? The temp subscription could then be deleted after sending. Any ideas on how to do this?

  Hi I am having trouble with the onmouseout function in a absolute positoned div. When the mouse hits a child element in the div, the mouseout event fires, but I do not want it to fire until the mouse is out of the parent, absolute div. How can I prevent the mouseout event from firing when it hits a child element WITHOUT jquery. I know this has something to do with event bubbling, but I am having no luck on finding out how to work this out. A similar post I found here: How to disable mouseout events triggered by child elements? How ever that solution uses jquery.

• Pass off execution to different/specific thread in Java

  I have about 4 threads. One thread keeps checking some data that the other thread is updating. The others are doing some processing in the background. All have been started at this point. My question is when the checking thread sees that the data has not been updated yet I currently sleep for a little bit but is there any way for me to tell the system to back to executing the thread that does the updating? That or is there any way I can put something like a listener on the data(a String) and once its updated an event will fire that will do what it needs to do? I tried using yield() and it seemed to just keep returning to the thread I called yield() from. Thanks

• Activate first workbook after closing second one?

  Open workbook A. Code in A opens workbook B. B is now the active WB. Code in B ends with ThisWorkBook.Close B closes, so A appears. Problem is, I can't get ANY Activate events in WB A to fire automatically after WB B closes. But if I close WB B manually, using mouse to 'x' out the WB, or via the menus, then WB A triggers Activate events. Somehow using VBA to close WB B prevents WB A Activate events from triggering. Same results in Excel 97 and 2003 Am I missing something, or is there a workaround?? Thanks! John

  Is there any way to stop the page from loading the next page when someone clicks on a <a> tag instead i want it to give the href value so for example "www.google.com" and then do a jquery .load() which is like this $(".window").load(hrefvalue); i know i could just change all the href values to fire up a javascript function but that takes a bit of time so im just looking for the easiest way. so i want it to do stop the page loading the next part on a <a href click. get the href value e.g http://www.google.com. and then do a jquery (.load() or $.ajax()) call for the href page.

• Why isn't this button firing the anchor tag?

  My idea is to press a button that takes me to a web page. I've created a thing that dynamically creates a button and an anchor tag. When the button is clicked, I want it to "click"/fire up the anchor tag.. I've uploaded a demo to my site, when you try it out just leave everything as it is. Click the first button then the add button right away.. then try to click the dynamically created button. Nothing happens, but if you watch the source you can find an anchor tag with the ID FL1000, I've set it up so that the anchor tag gets the ID from the value of the created button + 1000 just incase I need to use that ID.. Thanks guys... edit: this is optimized for google chrome, haven't tried it out with other browser.

  Hello, I'd like to have two Threads. Let's call them : Thread A Thread B Thread A fires an event and thread B listen to this event. When the Thread B Event Listener is executed, it's executed with the Thread A's thread ID, so i guess it is executed within the Thread A. What I'd like to do is be able to fire event to Thread B saying something like: "hey, a data is ready for you, you can deal with it now". This event must be executed in its own Thread because it uses things that only him can access (like UI controls). How can I do that ? Thank you for you help.

  Put simply I have an ajax call that sometimes completes before the page is loaded, so I tried wrapping the callback in $( fn ), but the callback doesn't fire if the page is loaded...   i have a problem in firing dropdownlist event i have following dropdown asp:dropdownlist id="ddlhello" Runat="server" AutoPostBack="True" onchange="javascript:return ChangeHeader();" i have also added event in code behind i.e. selectedindex change event. Now problem occurs when i execute the page, it executes javascript but server side code doesnot fire, but if i remove this line onchange="javascript:return ChangeHeader();" then server side code fires. when i checked source page it shows me two onchange events associated one for javascript and other for server side. i think that it is picking client side code and neglects server side. I am not pretty sure, so i want to know the behavior reason. And what is the way out for this. i want server and client side code to be executed. i have searched for solutions but i have not found any correct reason. please reply for the same. Any way to let delay message handling in objectB ? for example, something like using [obj performSelector:@selector(callSecond) afterDelay:0.01]; instead of [obj callSecond]; ?

• Javascript opens new window despite no call

  I have a javascript that opens a new window for "PreChecking" a site. The problem is when i click the button, it works fine... but wichever i button i press next makes the method fire again, despite i doesn't call it. Its just the button with id "lnkPrecheck" that should call the method. Have searched far and wide for a slolution that just opens a new window for the lnkPrecheck button, not the others on the site. THere must be a way for only 1 of 3 buttons makes the function call, not all of them!
