• TestDriven.net, right click, run test, doesn't re-build

  I am using testDriven.net and when I right-click and run tests, it appears to build, then runs the test. Only it doesn't really do the build. I keep making changes and the test still fails:) I have to do a VS Build, then run the testDriven.net to get changes to take effect. This clears up for a while if I delete the solution's .SUO file. Any thoughts?

  i just tried to move from helios to maven with my gwt 2.4 application. so i began to follow the steps here: http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/wiki/WorkingWithMaven but on step 3 - installing the feature "m2e connector for build-helper-maven-plugin" i get an error from Eclipse: Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found. • Maven:install jar file during build process

  I have got a requirement as follows. I need to run ant build file during maven build process. I need to invoke the build.xml from my pom.xml file. I have done that using maven-antrun-plugin. Now I need to install the ant build generated jar file automatically into my local repository before maven compiles my project source. I tried using build-helper-maven-plugin but it did not help. Either I am doing something wrong, or i am not doing right. Please help. Update Thank you. ant maven tasks worked for me as well.   When I try to run my first application with the debugger, I get a pop up which says: Visual C__ 2008 Express Edition This project is out of date: ProgName - Debug Win32 Would you like to build it? [Yes[ [No] [Cancel] [ ] Do not show this dialog again? I find this somewhat bothersome, because the very last thing that I did just before that was build the application. And the build did complete successfully (immediately before I clicked on Start Debugging -- F5.) The second time I pressed with wrong cilck on the Answer [No] on the same msg Now, I can't compile my apps What exactly does "do not show this dialog again" mean? It sounds to me like its going to remember my answer and use the same answer every time this situation occurs in the future. I did some stuffs like "Clean Solution" then "Build Solution" then "Start Debugging" ,but the same problem what's the solution ,how can I reset this message to make it work again .

  I am trying to build Linux From Scratch, and now I am at chapter 5.4, which tells me how to build Binutils. • TFS Build Server Cannot find Assembly Reference

  I looked at this post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/547468/assembly-references-wont-resolve-properly-on-our-build-server but it didn't help the issue. I am (extremely) new to TFS, and just installed 2010 on a VM. I imported a project and got everything working-ish. I went to create a new build through team explorer, and set it up to build on each check-in. It build's locally just fine, but when it's built on check-in it dies on a 3rd party assembly reference. The reference is not in the GAC, but part of the local references. There is only one 3rd party dll, and the projects only reference each other in the solution. I have a feeling I'm missing some important step with regards to TFS and references. Any ideas? EDIT: This a test installation...there is nothing else installed on this box, with the exception of SQL and IIS.

• Using MSBuild 4 command line to publish ASP.NET web application

  In previous msbuild we used the target '_CopyWebApplication' in order to build and convert the source of a project into a published site, this worked OK, but wasn't ideal. In .NET 4, the publishing process is somewhat more sophisticated and additionally seems a bit of a black box to understand. Whilst packages look great, I cannot fully understand how they can be harnessed by a build server, the build server would not get any manifest information, and equally, something (msbuild?) is CREATING this manifest information FROM the project file. In our build server, I ideally want to say, here is my csproj file, deploy it by the package configuration 'x'. I'm trying to understand the workflow I need to make this happen. Right now when I use _CopyWebApplication, the result is different to doing a publish from visual studio 2010, primarily that web.config transforms aren't processed, and obviously msdeploy isn't involved at all. Can somebody point me in the right direction, I believe I need to get msbuild to do the equiv of 'Build Deployment Package', and then use msdeploy to deploy this from our build server to our CI testing environments. I know this is a very vague post, but I hope somebody can give me some hints, I'll be continuing research also, so if I make any progress, I'll post my findings here. Thanks in advance, Stephen.

  There should be a standard for saving viewing bunches of webpages as a website. For instance, say I have a whole bunch of pages, such as I get from the WordPress plugin "Really Static" which saves an entire site, and I have all the links start with a slash. Now, I can't really use those links if I am reading it from the file system. If there would be a standard where we could zip up files, give them a unique extension (like "hzip" for html zip), and open the file with any browser, which would display it as though the root of that file were the root of the pages. "http://example.com" The links would all work right. This would facilitate sharing and copying groups of webpages.

  I have an Xcode project that contains many sub-projects. The main project file and all sub-projects have the same xcconfig file. Some of the sub-projects currently have a build rule set on them to use the Intel compiler for C++ files. • Integrate code generation with eclipse c++ build

  Hi, I am using Eclipse for C++ development on windows. I have also written a code generator that take an xml file and produces several C++ files. The project I am working on is currently setup to use the internal builder. What I would like to do is to run the code generator as part of the build process. My problem is that I haven't been able to find a way to make Eclipse identify that the files are present (or have been updated) without 'Refeshing' the project. So although I can run the code generator as a pre-build step, the files generated aren't guaranteed to be included in the build. Does anybody know whether there is a way to make Eclipse do a refresh after the pre-build step or something to that effect, using the internal builder? Thanks

  We're using Hudson on Windows to build a .NET solution and run the unit tests (NUnit). Hudson is thereby used to start batch files that do the actual work. I am now trying to set up a new test that is to run on a build slave and will run very long. The test should use the binaries produced by the upstream build. I have searched the Hudson documentation but I cannot find how to pass upstream build artifacts to downstream slaves. How do I do this?
