  • Chrome error: Flash video player flickering instead of showing up

    hi, I cannot understand why the flash video player is not working in Google Chrome (it works perfectly in all other browsers...) could you give me a hand ?   • Windows service Null ReferenceException

    I built a windows service on my local machine. when I install and run it locally it works perfectly fine. When I try to move it to my production machine I get a null reference exception error. I've created an installation package that also works perfectly fine on my machine, but when i run it on the production machine the service still fails. The service references a .dll that in turn has references to 3 other dlls. when i build the project it pulls all of the dlls into the debug folder for the project... I've even installed the service from that folder and it works localy on my machine. I know this has to have something to do with the references, but this is beyond me. Any tips/hints would be appreciated.

    I have a few pages that require login, so all controllers that link to these pages start with $this->checkSession(); //...rest of the code CheckSession should verify the session is still live, otherwise display a message and stop the execution of the rest of the code in the controller: function checkSession() { if (!$this->session->userdata('is_logged_in')) { //the session has expired! $data['main'] = 'confirmation_message'; $data['title'] = "Session expired"; $this->load->vars($data); $this->load->view('template'); exit(); } } . I was expecting these instructions to happen in sequence, but I only get a blank page. How can I make sure exit() gets executed only after all views are loaded?

  • How can I call `update_attribute` for a list item in rails then actually update the html using jquery?

    I want my users to be able to mark one or more items from an index view as "Active" or "Inactive" using a link. The text for the link should be state aware - so it might default to "Mark as Active" if the corresponding attribute was false or null, and "Mark as Inactive" if true. Once the user clicks the link and the attribute is updated in the controller, the link-text should update based on the new state. I am WAY off here, but this is a small sample of the code I have been trying...     I'm refactoring some client-server code and it uses the terms Response, Result & Reply for the same thing (an answer from the server). And although its not really that important it's become hard to guess which word to use while writing new code, so I'd like to unify the three terms into one and do the appropriate refactoring, but I'm not sure which word is the "best", if there is such a thing. Any suggestions based on precedence and standards towards naming for this case?

I've tried create new PHP project from eclipse, but it seems not to work. I've successively tried to import the Drupal project but Eclipse only recognize the SimplyModern project from drupal themes folder, and not the main Drupal project. thanks

  • AppleScript Editor, write message to the "Result" window

    I am using the Mac OS X Apple Script Editor and (while debugging) instead of writing a lot of display dialog statements, I'd like to write the results of some calculation in the window below, called "Result" (I have the German UI here, so the translation is a guess). So is there a write/print statement that I can use for putting messages in the "standard out" window? I am not asking to put the messages in a logfile on the file system, it is purely temporary.

  • How to save XML file before update?

    Right so I have a simple app that consists of a calendar a Set Event button and list box that populates using a DataTemplate in WPF. When I build the app the Events.xml file is like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <events> </events> I add events to xml through code. Final structure of the xml file is the following <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <events> <event Name="Some Name"> <startDate>20.03.2010</startDate> <endDate>29.03.2010</endDate> </event> </event> Now here's my problem. If I update the app and deploy it with Click Once and the app updates it self, I lose the list because the new file is empty. Any workaround this?   • Can someone explain this java interface to me please?

    I realize that the method run must be declared because its declared in the runnable interface. But my question comes when this class runs how is the Thread object allowed if there is no import call to a particular package? how does runnable know anything about Thread or its methods? does the runnable interface extend the thread class?   • Verizon Fivespot firewall exceptions

    I have a Verizon Fivespot Wi-Fi router and am having issues connecting to the computer that uses it to get on the internet. I am able to connect to the Fivespot admin pages remotely and I am able to connect to the internet from the computer behind the Fivespot. I've tried asking this on superuser but have gotten nothing, I figure this is pertinent to programmers working on remote computers as well. There are two sections pertinent to this issue, Port Filtering And, Port Forwarding I've tried each individually and both together but cannot access anything through the router except for the admin page. I am trying to connect through SSH on Port 22 to an Ubuntu 10.04 box over wifi. I have called Verizon Tech Support but they were unhelpful, the person essentially read what it says on each screen without any elaboration. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • How do I check to see if a scalar has a compiled regex in it with Perl?

    Let's say I have a subroutine/method that a user can call to test some data that (as an example) might look like this: sub test_output { my ($self, $test) = @_; my $output = $self->long_process_to_get_data(); if ($output =~ /\Q$test/) { $self->assert_something(); } else { $self->do_something_else(); } } Normally, $test is a string, which we're looking for anywhere in the output. This was an interface put together to make calling it very easy. However, we've found that sometimes, a straight string is problematic - for example, a large, possibly varying number of spaces...a pattern, if you will. Thus, I'd like to let them pass in a regex as an option. I could just do: $output =~ $test if I could assume that it's always a regex, but ah, but the backwards compatibility! If they pass in a string, it still needs to test it like a raw string. So in that case, I'll need to test to see if $test is a regex. Is there any good facility for detecting whether or not a scalar has a compiled regex in it?

  • Boost.Test: Looking for a working non-Trivial Test Suite Example / Tutorial

    The Boost.Test documentation and examples don't really seem to contain any non-trivial examples and so far the two tutorials I've found here and here while helpful are both fairly basic. I would like to have a master test suite for the entire project, while maintaining per module suites of unit tests and fixtures that can be run independently. I'll also be using a mock server to test various networking edge cases. I'm on Ubuntu 8.04, but I'll take any example Linux or Windows since I'm writing my own makefiles anyways.

  • Drupal, Lightbox: cannot edit the content inside

    hi, I'm using Drupal and Lightbox module to display the content of articles in this website: donatellabernardi.ch/drupal if you click on an article the lightbox is displayed. However I have 2 problems with it: 1) I cannot use the libraries such as the tooltip library qTip from it. (If you move the mouse over the balls, you'll see the tooltips) 2) I cannot invert the title with the balls (tags), because it seems that the template of the node in the lightbox is not controlled by my theme. I tried also to change the node template (in the drupal root folder), swapping title and meta data but it didn't work. thanks

  • How to save an image in it's original format?

    I am trying to figure out how I can get the original format of an image so that I can store it with the same encoding. It seems that the only way to save an Image is by using a BitmapEncoder but I don't know how I can get the correct format from the image. Example: Clipboard.GetImage() returns a InteropBitmap which doesn't seem to contain any information about the original format. I also tried using an Extension method: public static void Save(this BitmapImage image, System.IO.Stream stream) { var decoder = BitmapDecoder.Create(image.StreamSource, BitmapCreateOptions.PreservePixelFormat, BitmapCacheOption.Default); var encoder = BitmapEncoder.Create(decoder.CodecInfo.ContainerFormat); foreach (var frame in decoder.Frames) { encoder.Frames.Add(BitmapFrame.Create(decoder.Frames[0])); } encoder.Save(stream); } but the problem is that a) the ImageSource is not always a BitmapImage (Clipboard.GetImage()) for example and b) the image.StreamSource can be null in some cases (seems to be when the image is loaded via a relative Uri)

    I have a php variable that comes from a form that needs tidying up. I hope you can help. The variable contains a list of items (possibly two or three word items with a space in between words). I want to convert it to a comma separated list with no superfluous white space. I want the divisions to fall only at commas, semi-colons or new-lines. Blank cannot be an item. Here's a comprehensive example (with a deliberately messy input): Variable In: "dog, cat ,car,tea pot,, ,,, ;;(++NEW LINE++)fly, cake" Variable Out "dog,cat,car,tea pot,fly,cake" Can anyone help?

  • Drupal, Views, Exposed filter: custom default selected tags

    hi I'm using Drupal, Views with a exposed filter (using taxonomy). My customer wants to set from back-end the default selected tags (in order to pre-filter the views content). In the exposed filter settings, there is functionality. However, it doesn't work properly: when I click on "Select None" link (I'm using better_exposed_filter module) I expect none of the tags are selected, instead, the default configuration (default selected tags) are selected, so actually it doesn't work anymore. I hope it is clear. So, I was wondering if I can prepare a custom menu in which my user can check/uncheck the default selected tags in the view. thanks

I need to serialize the group name, as well as the group_item's Id and name as JSON and pass back to javascript.   • Setting up separate ctags db's for C/C++ standard libs, boost, and third party libs

    I want to set up separate ctags databases for various libraries in /usr/include/ for use with OmniCppComplete. The idea is to be able to pull in only the libraries needed for a particular project in the target language - C or C++. For example, I'd like to have one database for the standard C libraries, one for system libraries that might be used by either C or C++ programs ( sockets / networking comes to mind ) one for the standard C++ libs / STL / Boost, and then other databases for various third party libraries such as QT or glib. Then I could pull something in simply by typing set tags+= ~/.vim/somelib.tags in vim. I assume that everything related to the C++ stdlib and STL are in the /usr/include/c++ and that Boost is all in /usr/include/boost. Unfortunately it seems that the standard C libs and system libs are just kind of dumped directly into /usr/include/ with a variety of other stuff. How can I get a list of which files and directories belong to which libs? I'm on Ubuntu 8.04.
