  • Recording a screencast of an Android app using the emulator

    Unlike the iPhone simulator, the Android emulator doesn't look like an Android device. If you have to create a screencast or promotional video of your Android application, the default skin of the emulator is no good. Is there any way to configure the emulator to look like an Android device? If you have dealt with this already, what other things do you recommend taking into account to record an emulator screencast? Not a programming question per se, but an useful question for Android developers.

I'd like some way of detecting canvas non-support so that I can present the rest of my page accordingly. What would you recommend?

I have done console programming with C++ and graphics programmign with C++ in Borland, but I've have never done Win32 C++ programming and I'm curious if anyone knows of a good site to start with?   • How to still webcam image

    I need some help deciding what to use to acquire an image from a webcam. I want to acquire a single image. I know you can typically acquire a still image at a higher resolution than a single video frame. Currently, I am using MATLAB's image acquisition toolbox.. which apparently only supports obtaining frames in video mode(so lower resolution). Which other libraries do you recommend? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    I was wondering if there is a recommended 'cross' Windows and Linux method for the purpose of converting strings from UTF-16LE to UTF-8? or one should use different methods for each environment? I've managed to google few references to 'iconv' , but for somreason I can't find samples of basic conversions, such as - converting a wchar_t UTF-16 to UTF-8.     I need some PHP classes that deal with image processing in a good manner. I have made a thumbnail creator myself but the end result quality is just horrible. Is it also possible to let PHP convert and save all images to one type. For example take an image(jpg,png,gif), compress it, resize it, and save as png. (A multiset, or bag, is a set that can have duplicate values, and on which you can do set operations: intersection, difference, etc. A shopping cart for instance could be thought of as a multiset because you can have multiple occurrences of the same product.)

Also I want to keep the previously download xml so next time I may not need to download again until certain hours is passed or whatever period of time according to settings. Do you recommend me to download it first and store locally before process it? Or should I process it while downloading (with libxml2 I guess)? What do you usually with apps using remote XML? Basically I would like to -have all files encrypted locally before sending to the server. the server should never receive any file or data unencrypted. -Every other feature should work pretty much the same way as SVN or CVS does today.
