  Hello, I would need to build a html table that has a horizontally scrolable column. The scroll should be placed in the column's header. My question first question is: do you know any jquery plug-in that is able to do this? My second question: is this possible using a single table. I've heard that in order to do this you need to use multiple synchronized tables that look like a single one from the user's perspective. Any ideea/advice would be welcomed. Thank you.

On a licensed machine, a Licenses.licx is created - with what appears to be just the assembly full name/identifiers. This file has to be included when the client assembly is built. How does this model work? Both from component-vendors' and users' perspective. What is the .licx file used for? Should it be checked in?   Given multi-tenant application, How are vendors implementing email notifications from an email account setup and programming perspective: Sending emails could come from a generic account: eg [email protected] or [email protected], this seems reasonable considering reply addresses and lilnks can be contained within the email contents. Receiving Emails: How would an application receive email, for instance; to generate support tickets or assign comments in an email to a project/task. I have seen ID's within the subject and some reply to addresses containing the account name eg: [email protected] I realise one can programatically connect to a pop3 server and receive emails and look for the IDs with the subject, but is there a way of setting up and receiving email to a single pop3 account from multiple sub-host name email addresses (not sure on terminology there) eg: [email protected] or [email protected] and check the Account Name from the address? (similar to checking subdomains on a URL) Any practices, experience, comments or sughestions? (not sure its relevant, but using C# asp.net-mvc and services etc)

  In mysql, you can insert multiple rows to a table in one query for n 0: INSERT INTO tbl_name (a,b,c) VALUES(1,2,3),(4,5,6),(7,8,9), ..., (n-2, n-1, n); Is there a way to achieve the above with Django queryset methods? Here's an example: values = [(1, 2, 3), (4, 5, 6), ...] for value in values: SomeModel.objects.create(first=value[0], second=value[1], third=value[2]) I believe the above is calling an insert query for each iteration of the for loop. I'm looking for a single query, is that possible in Django?

• Saving a huge dataset into SQL table in a XML column - MS SQL, C#.Net

  Hello all I'm having a requirement where i've to save a dataset which has multiple tables in it in a sql table XML column by converting into an XML. The problem is that in some cases the dataset grows extremely huge and i get OutOfMemoryException. What i basically do is that i convert the dataset into an xml file and save it in the local disk and then load the XML again and send it as a stored procedure parameter. But when i write the dataset xml into the disk the file sizes over 700 Mb and when i load it in the XMLDocument object in memory i get OutOfMemoryException. How can get the dataset xml without saving it in a file and re-reading it again? Thank You NLV

• Google Visualization API - Line and Scatter on one Chart.

  Does any one know if it is possible to use the Default Google Scatter Chart in the Google Visualizations Gallery to draw a scatter chart that has both a series with points only, a series with a line of best fit and on top of this a set of lines across the chart indicating limits. i.e. at +/- 20% etc. The chart we need is actually a Control Chart with multiple series and individual formatting of each series displayed on the chart. i.e some series with only points other series with a line of best fit. Does any one know of a Control Chart that has already been done using the Google Visualization API?

• SetSel on EN_SETFOCUS or WM_SETFOCUS doesn't work

  I've ran into next mystic thing in Winapi/MFC, I have an edit box, contents of which I have to select on Tab, Lclick, Rclick, Mclick and so on. The sort of obvious path is to handle the SETFOCUS message and call SetSel(0, -1), which should select all text. But it doesn't work! What's wrong? I tried googling, everyone seems to override Lclilks or handle SetSel in parent windows, but this is wrong from encapsulation point of view, also multiple clicks (user wants to insert something in the middle of the text) will break, and so on. Why isn't my approach working, I tried like 10 different ways, tried to trap all possible focus messages, looked up info on MSDN, but nothing works as expected. Also, I need to recreate the carret on focus, which also doesn't seem to work. SETFOCUS message gets trapped alright. If I add __asm int 3, it breaks every time. It's the create carret and setsel that gets swallowed it seems.

• JTable.setRowHeight prevents me from adding more rows

  I'm working on a pretty simple Java app in order to learn more about JTables, TableModels, and custom cell renderers. The table is a simple table with 8 columns only with text in them. When you click on an "add" button, a dialog pops up and lets you enter the data for the columns. Now to my problem. One of the columns (the last one) should allow for multiple lines of text. I'm already putting HTML into the field, but it is not wrapping. I did some research and looked into JTable#setRowHeight(). However, once I use setRowHeight, I can no longer add rows to the table. The data is put into the table model, but it does not show in the table. If I remove the setRowHeight line, then it adds data just fine. Is there another step to adding data to my data model that I'm missing? Thanks a lot!

  I have a server that connects to multiple clients using TCP/IP connections, using C in Unix. Since it won't have more than 20 connections at a time, I figured I would use a thread per connection/socket. But the problem is writing to the sockets as I'll be sending user prompted msgs to clients. Once each socket is handled by a thread, how do I interact with the created thread to write to the sockets? Should each thread just read from the sockets and I'll write to sockets in the main program? Not sure if that's a good way to go about it.

  Hello Hoping that using something like this demo it is possible to drag items within and between two columns, and update their order either live or with a "save" button to MySQL. Point being that you can make changes and return to the page later to view or update your ordering. http://pilotmade.com/draggable2.html Doing it for just one column is fine, but when I try to pass the order of both columns, the issue seems to be passing multiple serialized arrays with jQuery to a PHP/MySQL update script. Any insight would be much appreciated.

  I have a web service method in which I create a particular type of object, use it for a few seconds, and then dispose it. Because of problems arising from multiple threads creating and using instances of this class at the same time, I need to restrict the method so that only one caller at a time ever has one of these objects. To do this, I am creating a private static object: private static object _lock = new object(); ... and then inside the web service method I do this around the critical code: lock (_lock) { using (DangerousObject do = new DangerousObject()) { do.MakeABigMess(); do.CleanItUp(); } } I'm not sure this is working, though. Do I have this right? Will this code ensure that only one instance of DangerousObject is instantiated and in use at a time? Or does each caller get their own copy of _lock, rendering my code here laughable?

• deciding between subprocess, multiprocesser and thread in Python?

  I'd like to parallelize my Python program so that it can make use of multiple processors on the machine that it runs on. My parallelization is very simple, in that all the parallel "threads" of the program are independent and write their output to separate files. I don't need the threads to exchange information but it is imperative that I know when the threads finish since some steps of my pipeline depend on their output. Portability is important, in that I'd like this to run on any Python version on Mac, Linux and Windows. Given these constraints, which is the most appropriate Python module for implementing this? I am tryign to decide between thread, subprocess and multiprocessing, which all seem to provide related functionality. Any thoughts on this? I'd like the simplest solution that's portable. Thanks.

  Hello, I want to develop a POS application in .NET (C#) that would be used to rent items. I have a good idea of what will be done and the famous question that I have is about the DBMS that I should use. I would like to use MySQL database. The question is: If some places use only one computer (no network, no internet connection), can I use a MySQL database in local? Do I need to install MySQL server on all thoses computers to be able to use such a database? I know SQLite but I'm not sure if the limitations can cause problems in the future... I also looked at SQLServer Express versions. (I must consider that other point of sales are using multiple computers and more transactions so there I can't put sqlexpress or sqlite) So can anybody suggest me what I should do in that situation?   I would like to have a TextBox that supports AutoComplete and lets users type multiple words separated by a comma or semicolon, offering suggestions for each word. I have a standard TextBox with textBox.AutoCompleteCustomSource.AddRange(new[] { "apple", "banana", "carrot" }); textBox.AutoCompleteMode = AutoCompleteMode.SuggestAppend; textBox.AutoCompleteSource = AutoCompleteSource.CustomSource; Unfortunately it will only suggest for the first word. Anything typed after that and it stops suggesting. I want to be able to perform the following scenario: Type "ap" Have it suggest "apple" Press the comma Have it fill in "apple," with the cursor after the comma Type "ba" Have it suggest "banana" Press the comma Have it append "banana," resulting in "apple,banana," I've tried Googling for a solution, but haven't had much luck. This seems to be a popular feature for web apps, but apparently not for winforms. Any suggestions?

• Latex change color of intext citing with hyperref package and natbib

  I am using the natbib and hyperref package in conjunction with my latex document. I would like to change to the color of my hyppereferenced citations (the box around the citation) from the ugly baseline green to a more muted (violet or navy blue). However, in using the suggested code to do this, I can not get the citation link colors to change. My code is as follows \usepackage[usenames,dvipsnames]{color} \usepackage[round]{natbib} \usepackage[hyperfootnotes=false]{hyperref} \usepackage[hyperfootnotes=false]{hyperref} \hypersetup{ colorlinks=false, citecolor=Violet, linkcolor=Red, urlcolor=Blue} \begin{document} \bibliographystyle{apsr} \bibliography{exp_final} \end{document} However, when I compile (I compiled multiple times to make sure) this my pdf file looks the same as if I had excluded the formatting in the hypersetup (still the same ugly green).   I have executed the commands as prescribed in the instructions at the rvm website but things don't seem to work.. Fetching the code from the git repository runs smoothly but when I try to use rvm notes Error: /usr/local/bin/rvm: line 73: /home/cody/.rvm/scripts/rvm: No such file or directory flashes in multiple lines and doesn't stop till I hit ctrl+C.. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and currently I am running ruby 1.9.2.. Sorry, if I am missing out any necessary information. Thanks in advance.

  Today someone asked me what was wrong with their source code. It was obvious. "Use double equals in place of that single equal in that if statement. Um, i think..." As i remember some languages actually take a single equals for comparison. Since i sometimes forget or mix up the syntax details among the several languages i use, i stepped over to my laptop to try a quickie experiment... It costs a bit of time and is a break in the flow to try "quick" experiments (though maybe the practice is good for memory.) What tips do you have for keeping straight in your mind the syntax (and other) details of multiple languages? (And nowadays, this applies just as well to the many wiki-like markups!)

  I have a datatable that contains rows of transaction data for multiple users. Each row includes UserID and UserTransactionID columns. What would I use for as a RowFilter in the tables DefaultView to only show the row for each user that has the highest UserTransactionID value? sample data and results UserID UserTransactionID PassesFilter 1 1 False 1 2 False 1 3 True 2 1 True 3 1 False 3 2 True My data is orginating in a non-SQL source, the DataTable is being created to be bound to a DataGridView so I can't make changes to a query being used to get the data initially.

• File system to choose for NAS box based on FreeNAS or OpenFiler [closed]

  I'm a photographer and I have a requirement find a better method of storing my photos other than multiple USB2 drives via USB hubs. Currently I use a Macbook Pro and 6 external drives connected via USB2 or FW800. 3 are a copy of the first three, kept up to day manually by running an rsync backup. I'd like to run a FreeNAS or OpenFiler NAS box using 2TB drives mirrored via software RAID. But - I would like to have the flexibility of also plugging into the drive physically for the faster throughput when necessary. So. My question is, is there a file system that both *nix and Mac OSX will play nice with? Many thanks, Chris.
