  • Unable to remove package from Delphi 2005

    I needed to reinstall a package, DrRX.bpl. I removed it from the package list, and trying to install a newer version of the same package. I've replaced the old component's dir with the new one. When I open the new DrRX.bpl and click install, I get the error "Package C:\Program Files\Borland\BDS\3.0\components\rx work\output\DrRx.bpl cannot be installed because another package with the same basename is already loaded (DrRx.bpl)" I cannot find any reference to DrRX in my package list, DrRX does not appear in the Tool Palette. How do I locate where Delphi thinks this is installed, and remove it, so I can reinstall the package?

  • What are some C++ Standard Library usage best practices?

    I'm learning C++ and the book I'm reading (The C++ Programming Language) says to not reinvent the wheel, to rely on the standard libraries. In C, I often end up creating a linked list, and link list iteration over and over again (maybe I'm doing that wrong not sure), so the ideas of containers available in C++, and strings, and algorithms really appeal to me. However I have read a little online, and heard some criticisms from my friends and coworkers about STL, so I thought I maybe I'd pick some brains here. What are some best practices for using STL, and what lessons have you learned about STL?

  • CSS three column layout, liquid center, no left-margin!

    Hi, I am all in favor of CSS based layouts, but this one I just can't figure out. Again this is easy with the table. Delete the column and "Content" expands. Beautiful. I have looked through many examples (and "holy grails") of liquid and table less three-column CSS based layouts, but I have not found one which is not using some kind of margin-left for the middle column ("Content"). Any margin-left will suck once "Left" is gone as "Content" will just stay at it's place. I'm just about to switch to old school table based layout for this problem, so I'm hoping someone has some idea - I don't care about excess markup, wrappers and the like, I would just like to know how to solve this with plain CSS. Btw: look at how easy equal height columns are... Cheers PS: No CSS3 please

    In .NET the BinarySearch algorithm (in Lists, Arrays, etc.) appears to fail if the items you are trying to search inherit from an IComparable instead of implementing it directly: List<B> foo = new List<B>(); // B inherits from A, which implements IComparable<A> foo.Add(new B()); foo.BinarySearch(new B()); // InvalidOperationException, "Failed to compare two elements in the array." Where: public abstract class A : IComparable<A> { public int x; public int CompareTo(A other) { return x.CompareTo(other.x); } } public class B : A {} Is there a way around this? Implementing CompareTo(B other) in class B doesn't seem to work.

Till now I am able to append and create DOM structure using Jquery. But I am not able to access the dynamically created list.   • JQuery: Specify placement of error messages inline using Metadata and Validate plugins

    I'm doing form validation using JQuery with the validate and metadata plugins. I'm using the metadata plugin so I can specify the rules and messages inline in the html form instead of in the javascript in the page . I'm getting an error when I try to specify the location of the error message using errorPlacement. (If I specify it in the section it works fine, but not if I specify it inline.) Here's what my html looks like: <input name="list" id="list1" type="checkbox" validate="{required:true, minlength:1, messages:{required:'Please select at least one newsletter.', minlength:'Please select at least one newsletter.'}, errorPlacement: function(error, element) { error.appendTo('#listserror');} }"> As reported by the validate debug function, the error is: "error.appendTo is not a function."   • Service injection into Controller (Spring MVC)

    Hi I have a Spring web application, I have built it up to the controller stage and I could inject my Daos, into my Services fine. Now when I want to inject my Service into my controller i get an error for dependency with the Dao and further down the sessionFactory. I don't want to inject these again cause this will ultimately lead me to eventually create a data source but I have my Daos for data access and they already know about sessionFactory.     I have a simple Java program which reads a file directory and outputs a file list. I sort the files by name: String [] files = dirlist.list(); files = sort(files); My problem is that it sorts by name in a different way than Windows Explorer does. For instance if I have these files: abc1.doc, abc12.doc, abc2.doc. Java will sort like this: abc1.doc abc12.doc abc2.doc When I open the folder in Explorer, my files are sorted like this: abc1.doc abc2.doc abc12.doc How can I make Java sorts my files like in Windows Explorer? Is this a Windows trick?

I've tried to call drawContact(String name, String number) before the if statement without querying for the phone number, and it worked (it draws two times the name). but on the LinearLayout they are not ordered alphabetically... how can i order alphabetically (similar to the original contacts app)? thank you in advice, Luca

  • Odd visual issue with ListView item layout with two pressable pieces

    I wanted to make a ListView where the items have two pressable pieces, like the layouts that show up in a couple of places in the stock Android phone/contacts application: I have the layout working fine, including handling events from each piece separately, except for a visual issue when the smaller piece is pressed. In my application the smaller piece only gets a small ellipse for the background when it is pressed, like this: Note that is actually not my application - that is NubDial, but my application has the same problem. Since NubDial uses the exact same XML layout as the phone app, I'm not sure how relevant the list item layouts are, but here they are anyway: Contacts list: contacts_list_item.xml NubDial: contacts_list_item.xml Does anybody know what might be happening there?

  • Determine if a specific activity in an application can be launched...

    Applications can have any number of launchable activities. I know how to get the list of these activities via PackageManager. Is there a way to determine which activities can be launched via startActivity? For example, the Documents To Go app has different activities that will start Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, etc... I am able to launch all o these just fine. However, it also contains some activities that I am not able to launch with startActivity... If I attempt to do this I get a SecurityException. I want to be able to determine which activities I can safely launch and which I cannot so I only present the user with a list of activities that I can safely launch from within my application... Is this possible?
