• System context menu Icon not transparent like WinRAR

  I added a icon at the system context menu(the popped up menu when we right mouse click on any file/foler). But the icon is not transparent(in xp its not notice able, but in vista/win7 it is clearly visible) there is a white background beneath the icon. But WinRAR or TortoiseSVN icons don't have any white background, they are transparent. I tried the following C++ code: #define BITMAP_MAIN 201 //in resource.h BITMAP_MAIN BITMAP "main.bmp" // in .rc file // showing icon in menu... • simplemodal contact form does not close after sending mail in ie8

  hi, i am using the simplemodal contact form for my website. it works perfectly on safari, firefox and opera on mac os, and firefox and chrome on windows. the only issue i have is with ie8. when i click the "send" button the mail is actually sent but i get an error message (alert window with "unknown" in it) and then everything seems to be in some infinite loop with the "loading.gif" turning and turning. it never gets to the step where i ahve the message "your mail has been sucessfully sent" although like i said the mail is sent. any idea where the problem is coming from ? thanks for your help. frank

  Hi iam using a listbox to show a list of items. in the listbox i ahve an togglebutton on every item. When i click on the toggle button the state of the togglebutton is pressed. But when i am scrolling down in the listbox and scolls up again. The togglebutton state is not pressed. How can i prevent this please help. • Manually Writing the HTML in TWebBrowser

  I am using the strategy suggested here: http://cc.embarcadero.com/Item/23992 to get my HTML in the TWebBrowser, but I get a bunch of JavaScript errors when the page loads. If I click yes enough times I can see a page with no formatting and I'm guessing the page does nothing. My theory is that because the links in the HTML are relative, the browser can't load any of it. I have switch from passing the URL, 'about:blank' to the navigate function, to passing the servers home page - in the hopes that some internal mechanism will be able to generate full paths, but no luck. Any one successfully been able to manually write HTML to the TWebBrowser.

• SSL in overlay window for login

  HI I have to implement login over SSL in my website. for example cloginForm - this is the form https://www.myweb.com/loginProcess - this is the action which process the form -authenticates user. I am able to do this with usual web form but the problem is the overlay dialog box for login for example if I am on my website home page http://www.myweb.com - notice http and I click a login link there , it shows a small html div with login form (like a litebox).now ,as I am on a non SSL page (http) the data which I post does not get encrypted,and posted to the process action. How do I get around with this so that my overly login also becomes secure. thanks for your help in advance. :)

• Trouble using Prototype JS

  I have three files named like: AjxDm.php db_test website.php What I am trying to do is AjxDm.php in this file I click and I am using Ajax.Request and it directed me to the db_test.php. In this file I am retrieving a value from the database and I assign the value into a dropdown. Again when I try to select one of the options in the dropdown it is direceting me to the Website.php using Ajax.Request with the dropdown selected value and retrieve data from database and display. The problem is that when I call from AjxDm.php to Db_test it works but when I select option in db_test.php it doesn't find a JavaScript function which direct me to the website.php. What can I do to make it work?

  I'm not sure whether this topics has been disscussed before or not, but I'm not sure the exact word to search for it. What method/class should I use? The program has 3 buttons: 1) for folder browsing, 2) scan for the selected folder content, and 3) open the file. When user browse the selected folder*(1), user click scan button to scan from the first file until the last available files and listed it text box(2)* and from that user can decide whether to open the files or not*(3)*. • ValidatorEnable is not defined when rolled with AJAX

  I have some webforms which have been working fine with various static and dynamically generated validators. For some reason now that I have implemented UpdatePanels on the forms, when I manually call the ValidatorEnable() method on one of them (when I click a checkbox) I get the "ValidatorEnable is not defined" error message. I am passing the same clientID etc into the method that I was using before I implemented the AJAX.net controls It would seem .net isnt rendering the /WebResource.axd?d=aUu4P3dfjWWyw3KQ9t2ZdqxnzYhrtq9uWWiRZduXE-g1 script to the page, adding it manually I get other missing JS objects. So how can I force it to register the relevant scripts? N.B. The validators in question are being rendered in a repeater

• Do I have to remove VS 2010 beta1 in order to get a web app to work on asp.net 2.0?

  I think the title is enough :). I have VS 2010 beta1 installed, and I wish to run an asp.net mvc application on my local IIS. The problem is, the asp.net 4.0 runtime is selected by default for all the web sites, when I try to change it to asp.net 2.0, I get the following error message: I click yes, then ok, and when I get back to the ASP.NET tab of my site's properties, I see the 4.0 version is selected back again! Do I have to remove VS 2010 in order to get this to work? (hopefully not) Ps: I'm using windows XP and IIS 5.1

• stripe payment issue ruby on rails

  So I have made a stripe payment option in my app. When I click the button pay now, it shows me that the payment is successful. and when I go to my stripe account and go to stripe-test and check logs, I can see my test payment with the code 200 OK. But this payment doesn't show in stripe-test events, or in stripe-test payments. • Faking user interaction on CMS

  I'm working with a CMS and need to import data to it using typical html forms. The data itself is in csv files with one page per row. Such is the CMS that importing directly to db isn't possible due to the complexity of the design. It's pretty important that i "fake" usual user interaction because the CMS does a lot of background work that's crucial for the import. Basically, for each row in the csv file, I need to copy a csv column to a html textfield, or select a checkbox, or click a certain button. One major issue is mapping the data in the csv to actions in the CMS. So if one column contains the string 'foobar' is really means "set the firstName dropdown widget to 'foobar'". Is there a tool to automate this? I´ve been looking at AutoHotKey, Selendium, Web-Harvester and many other tools but I'm not convinced they are the correct tools. The main problem is being able to interact with the html pages in a easy way.

• View Window Not Opening in Interface Builder

  When I double click the XIB file in Xcode, Interface Builder typically launches a few different windows, one of which is the View window. For some reason, however, the View window isn't opening for one of my XIB files. If I open any of the other XIB files, however, the View window does open. I'm not sure if there's a way to manually launch the View window (I looked through all of the menu items and couldn't find a way) or if I broke something in my XIB. Update: I created a connection from the app delegate to a navigation controller, which seemed to break something. When I cleared that connection, the View window came back.

• Converting Flash frame to JPEG

  We are attempting to convert a flash frame into a JPEG without using the Flex SDK or other adobe tools. Right now, we have a flash file that passes binary data over to a .cfm page, which uses the following code to change the headers: <cfset var = GetHttpRequestData()> <cfcontent type="image/jpeg"> <cfheader name="Content-Disposition" value="attachment; filename=#url.name#"> <cfoutput>#var.content#</cfoutput> This code is producing some strange results. Basically, it renders as an image, and I can "right click - Set as desktop background", but I cannot save the image any other way, as it simply saves the contents of the HTML Source. So, questions: 1) Is what I'm trying to do even possible? 2) If so, any suggestions? Thanks guys.

• jQuery live() and stopPropagation() issue

  I know that the live() event handles event bubbling different than all other jQuery events. jQuery recommends using 'return false', but in my case that doesn't work. The issue is: I have a DIV which contains an anchor tag. The DIV is bound using live(). Whenever I click the anchor tag inside this DIV it bubbles and calls the DIV's event. If I bind an event to that A tag which returns false it prevents the link from opening. Neither stopPropagation() or return false work in this case. Are there any other options? Ideally I'd like to keep the live() event around.

  Hi guys. I have a few text fields and text views on my application's view. The keyboard comes up when I click in anyone of them. I have a method that gets called when any one of these objects is tapped in. However, I would like the method to execute its code only if the a certain Text Field(s) or a certain Text View(s) is tapped in. I would therefore like to have something like this in the method body: { if(currentField != mySpecialField) {return;} //Rest of the method code... } Now, my question is, how do I get a reference to the currently tapped in field so that I can perform the if-check. • Any good GUI tool to easily create stored procs SQL server 2008 ?

  The templates for stored-procs in SSMS do not auto-populate all input columns, again there is manual work involved. I am looking for something like right-click on table and say CREATE stored-proc, and then it allows to pick a template, based on which it can populate the parameters etc. and give check-box in GUI (like table designer, you can easily add/remove a column). Some support for change management with table undergoing alter or otherwise would also be helpful. Currently we manually write all stored-procs, which i think we should be able to save time and labor with automation. Any suggestion on other free 3rd party tools ?

  I have a small splash page and have a browser-wide div that acts as a wrapper and have a div inside of #wrapper that is attached to a $.click(); event to slide the wrapper div out to view the browser-size background photo. I'm wanting to implement a small button/link that will slide in on the bottom right corner after the wrapper div is hidden. I know it is probably mainly CSS, but am needing some help. • jquery onclick function not firing with rails link_to_remote

  In the js file of the page, inside $(document).ready(function() {} i have $(".school a").live("click", function (e){ e.preventDefault(); ....; jsFunc(param1, param2, param3); }); Now the div with the class school has tags generated by rails link_to_remote with :url, :action, :before, :html. On clicking on this link it does all that it should do with regards to link_to_remote, but somehow the onclick event in the document.ready does not attach to it. Why would this be happening? The jsFunc all it does is post to a url async-ly, i figured out that stuffing that post url in the :before of the link_to_remote would work - but is there a more elegant way of just being able to use the attach functionality

  I have been using rails for developing web applications and now i need to do design an api for iphone application and since i used respond to json it also produces json but i use devise for authentication in my web application and when i send email and password along with the api it gives out {"user":{"authentication_token":"Lsusyd27ewgasga63","email":"[email protected]"}} and there is forgot password functionality in the iphone app but in the web application when clicking on forgot password button it sends an email to the users email, whereby the user has to go to his mail and click on the link sent and it will take to the change password path and after changing it the user will be login but in this iphone app i want to send the password to the user mail and the user can use that password and login. How can i do this? Also do i have to create new controllers for api or the web application controller is enough if it respond as json? please help me.

• Display Ajax Loader while page rendering

  This is probably a simple question but how can I best use an AJAX loader in ASP.NET to provide a loading dialog whilst the page is being built? I currently have an UpdatePanel with an associated UpdateProgressPanel which contains the loading message and gif in a ProgressTemplate. Currently I have a page that onLoad() goes and gets the business entities and then displays them. While it is doing this I would like to display an AJAX loader. Would it be better to have nothing in the page load and have a hidden button that is triggered onLoadComplete or unLoad() which would then wait for the button click method to complete displaying the UpdateProgressPanel?
