    I'm trying to force function caller from a specific class. For example this code bellow demonstrate my problem. I want to make 'use' function would be called only from class A.     Hi everyone: I'm now performing a stack buffer overflow attack test on my own PC( Ubuntu 9.10, gcc-4.4.1 ) based on the article http://www.tenouk.com/Bufferoverflowc/Bufferoverflow4.html. Yet I haven't achieved the goal. Each time a segfault is thrown accompanied with some error informaiton. I compile the source code, and wanna get further information using objdump. Function __strcpy_chk is invoked in the assembly code dumped out, and it's said that "The __strcpy_chk() function is not in the source standard; it is only in the binary standard." Does this the mechanism a compiler employed to protect runtime stack? To finish my test, how can I bypass the protection? Regards.

    I've discovered PARSENAME function as a good choice to order IP address stored in Database. Here there is an example. My issue is I'm using Hibernate with named queries in a xml mapping file and I am trying to avoid the use of session.createSQLQuery(..) function. I'm wondering if exists any PARSENAME equivalent function for HQL queries. I'm searching for it and cannot find anything. Many thanks.

In my player update Function I have it to check for keyboard input, and it seems to work, but whenever I try to call the .move() function, it seems to not work. I get no errors either. When I moved this code to client's production server - they use SQL 2000, I started getting "Incorrect syntax near '(' ". I've tried changing the ProviderManifestToken to 2000 in my .edmx file, then I started getting "The execution of this query requires the APPLY operator, which is not supported in versions of SQL Server earlier than SQL Server 2005." I tied changing the token to 2005, the "Incorrect syntax near '(' " is back. Can anybody help me to find a workaround for this? Thank you very much in advance!

  • c++: Schedule function call in the future?

    Using Visual C++ with MFC. When a certain event occurs in my code, I want to set a function to be called 10 seconds later to perform some activity. The handling of the event happens in a static library that doesn't have any direct links to MFC (and I'd like to keep it that way). How can I schedule a function to be called at some point in the future? Use a Timer I guess? How do I decouple the Timer (which is an MFC dependency) so my business code doesn't have a direct dependency on the GUI? Or maybe something else besides a timer?

    This is the way I get to prevent funA,funB,funC, etc.. for being used before init #define INIT_KEY 0xC0DE //any number except 0, is ok static int initialized=0; int Init() { //many init task initialized=INIT_KEY; } int funA() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funB() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funC() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } The problem with this approach is that if some of those function is called within a loop so "if (initialized!=INIT_KEY)" is called again, and again, although it's not necessary. It's a good example of why constructors are useful haha, If it were an object I would be sure that when was created initialization was called, but in C, I don't know how to do it. Any other ideas are welcome!

    I'm looking for a concise and functional style way to apply a function to one element of a tuple and return the new tuple, in Python. For example, for the following input: inp = ("hello", "my", "friend") I would like to be able to get the following output: out = ("hello", "MY", "friend") I came up with two solutions which I'm not satisfied with. One uses a higher-order function. def apply_at(arr, func, i): return arr[0:i] + [func(arr[i])] + arr[i+1:] apply_at(inp, lambda x: x.upper(), 1) One uses list comprehensions (this one assumes the length of the tuple is known). [(a,b.upper(),c) for a,b,c in [inp]][0] Is there a better way? Thanks!

    Any idea, why none of the debugging comments are printed once after executing the ANT build script's SQL task via java code?   • PDO closeCursor Error

    Hey Everyone, I currently have a database layer that I wrote myself and I have been using it now for over a year without any problems. The database class uses PDO, and there are two different databases that I regularly connect to (MySQL and MS SQL). The MS SQL database is used for Accpac accounting storage, and the MySQL database is used for everything else. In one of the MySQL databases I have all of the dsn's listed which I use to create the string I need to connect to the MS SQL databases. I have a new program I am trying to write which I am taking employee data from one of the MySQL databases, and using the employee ID to get the employee's information from the MS SQL database. For some reason, whenever I run the program it will get through about 1200 records (out of 11k) and then crash with an error like the following, Fatal error: Call to a member function closeCursor() on a non-object I have tried moving the loops around in many different ways, and I have tried manually closing the connections by setting the database handle to null. Nothing I do seems to work. Thanks for any help! Metropolis

  • Problem with pointers and getstring function

    I am trying to write a function to get a string from the uart1. Its for an embedded system so I don't want to use malloc. The pointer that is passed to the getstring function seems to point to garbage after the gets_e_uart1() is called. And that is very important for a good script moving forward. Days Later: Ugh, it turns out that diff-index HEAD is NOT the same as checking status against working directory clean. So will this mean another plumbing call? I surely don't have time/expertise to write my own porcelain....

Is there a better way of handling these name/value pairs? Are there any helper functions that come with MATLAB to assist?
