• Editing Neo Slider to move in one direction

  I have a website with brandspace theme from pixelentity. Currently, the slider move from right to left ( auto transition) . But, when the slider reaches the last image, it will go back to the first image by making all previous images sliding back from left to right. I want to make the slider to have a normal transition,i.e. going back to first image but still with the image sliding from right to left. • invite friends in a dialog in a Facebook application

  I'm trying to create a Facebook application that displays a friend invite dialog within the application using Facebook's Javascript API (FB.ui). To do that I followed this tutorial I have two problems : The action url I've put in the request-form is "http://apps.facebook.com/appname/post_invite.php" but I see that the iframe source after the post is "http://mydomain.com/post_invite.php" and when this iframe tries to do : parent.closeInviteWidget(); I get an error saying : "Permission denied for < http: //mydomain.com (document.domain has not been set) to get property Window.closeInviteWidget from < http:// apps.facebook.com (document.domain=< http:// facebook.com)." The skip button inside the request-form opens the action url in a new window (new browser tab) and not post to itself like the invite button. • Performance issues with jms and spring integration. What is wrong with the following configuration?

  I have a jms producer, which generates many messages per second, which are sent to amq persistent queue and are consumed by single consumer, which needs to process them sequentially. But it seems that the producer is much faster than the consumer and i am having performance and memory problems. Messages are fetched very very slowly and the consuming seems to happen on intervals (the consumer "asks" for messages in polling fashion, which is strange?!) Basically everything happens with spring integration. Here is the configuration at the producer side. • CSS Collapsing/Hiding divs with no data in <span>

  I am trying to display an address which includes the following information: Title, division, address1, address2, town/state/zip, and country (5 seperate lines worth of data). The problem is sometimes the company may only have the title, address1, and town/state/zip yet other times it may be all but address2. This is determined upon a db record request server side. Therefore how can I make my output look proper when some of my labels will be blank? I would like div's that contain an empty span to be essentially collapsed/removed. My only idea of how was to use jquery and a selector to find all divs with blank spans (since thats all an asp.net label really is) and then remove those divs however this seems like such bad form. Is there any way to do this with css? • JQuery $.ajax doesn't return anything, but only in Google Chrome!?

  Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help me with this as I'm at a loss. I'm trying to simply load a plain text file into a page at runtime using jquery- everything works fine in IE8 (8.0.7600.16385), Firefox 3.6.3, however in Google Chrome 5.0.375.55 the "data" comes back as nothing- i get an empty alert box. • set/unset checkboxes in JSF

  Hello, i've got one problem with checkboxes in JSF. I want them to behave dependently on each other, e.g., when i check a box which belongs to some object that has children then all checkboxes that belong to these children components must be checked either. And also when i uncheck one of child's checkbox the parent should be unchecked too. It's pretty simple with plain HTML/javascript, but i can't do anything with this under JSF. For some reason i can't set ID's for them because all checkboxes are rendered dynamically in a treetable and it prevents me from setting my own ID's, i.e. whatever i set in ID property only constant part will apply, all dynamic data that i pass is ignored. I tried to do it through valueChangeListener or validator but in both cases after i set needed values something sets them back! I don't know who does it and i can't do anything with this. • Soften a colour border, maybe with a gradient, programmatically.

  I have a narrow header in corporate colour, bright red, with the content below on a just-off-white background. Ive tried softening the long line where these colours meet using border type divs with intermediate backgrounds, but I think I need the original type curved gradient 'area transitions'. I could copy the 1024px wide, and too narrow (vertically), header gif from their web site, and chop it up for eight border images, but that seems clumsy, and I'm looking for something I can apply anywhere, without needing images. I am able to do round borders in the x-y plane, but I'm curious as to how I can apply a gradient to any chosen colour transition. The extra divs I'm using as border elements above and below '#top-section' arose when I was toying with making many divs for one bordered element.   The problem I have an array of java.awt.Rectangles. For those who are not familiar with this class, the important piece of information is that they provide an .intersects(Rectangle b) function. I would like to write a function that takes this array of Rectangles, and breaks it up into groups of connected rectangles. • Please recommend me intermediate-to-advanced Python books to buy.

  I'm in the final year, final semester of my law degree, and will be graduating very soon. (April, to be specific.) But before I begin practice, I plan to take 2 two months off, purely for serious programming study. So I'm currently looking for some Python-related books, gauged intermediate to advanced, which are interesting (because of the subject matter itself) and possibly useful to my future line of work. I've identified 2 possible purchases at the moment: Natural Language Processing with Python. The law deals mostly with words, and I've quite a number of ideas as to where I might go with NLP. Data extraction, summaries, client management systems linked with document templates, etc. Programming Collective Intelligence. This book fascinates me, because I've always liked the idea of machine learning (and I'm currently studying it by the side too, for fun). I'd like to build/play around with Web 2.0 applications; and who knows if I can apply some of the things I learn to my legal work. (E.g. Playground experiments to determine how and under what circumstances judges might be biased, by forcing algorithms to pore through judgments and calculate similarities, etc.) Please feel free to criticize my current choices, but do at least offer or recommend other books that I should read in their place. My budget can deal with 4 books, max. These books will be used heavily throughout the 2 months; I will be reading them back to back, absorbing the explanations given, and hacking away at their code. Also, the books themselves should satisfy 2 main criteria: Application. The book must teach how to solve problems. I like reading theory, but I want to build things and solve problems first. Even playful applications are fine, because games and experiments always have real-world applications sooner or later. Readability. I like reading technical books, no matter how difficult they are. I enjoy the effort and the feeling that you're learning something. But the book shouldn't contain code or explanations that are too cryptic or erratic. Even if it's difficult, the book's content should be accessible with focused reading. Note: I realize that I am somewhat of a beginner to the whole programming thing, so please don't put me down. But from experience, I think it's better to aim up and leave my comfort zone when learning new things, rather than to just remain stagnant the way I am. (At least the difficulty gives me focus: i.e. if a programmer can be that good, perhaps if I sustain my own efforts I too can be as good as him someday.) If anything, I'm also a very determined person, so two months of day-to-night intensive programming study with nothing else on my mind should, I think, give me a bit of a fighting chance to push my programming skills to a much higher level.

• What regular expression(s) would I use to remove escaped html from large sets of data.

  Our database is filled with articles retrieved from RSS feeds. I was unsure of what data I would be getting, and how much filtering was already setup (WP-O-Matic Wordpress plugin using the SimplePie library). This plugin does some basic encoding before insertion using Wordpress's built in post insert function which also does some filtering. I've figured out most of the filters before insertion, but now I have whacko data that I need to remove. PS One of the nice things about using Wordpress's insert post function, is that if you use php's strip_tags function to strip out all html, insert post function will insert <p> at the paragraph points. • Using one data source across multiple views in Kendo UI SPA

  I am trying to build a Kendo UI SPA. I have two views. View 1 (appListView) shows Application Details in a grid and view 2 (activityView) will have a dropdown for application names and a grid that shows the activity for selected application As I am loading all the application details on the loading of view 1, I would like to re-use those details to populate the dropdown on view 2. Please see my code below. Everything works fine but when I go to View 2 it makes a call to the service again to get application details. I would like to use the existing data if it is already loaded and if the uses comes to view 2 directly then it should get application data also. I am not sure what I am missing in the code. I'm playing around with an Ajax powered search engine trying to find the best tradeoff between data-volume and client-side processing time. Currently my AJAX search returns 40k of (JQM-enhanced markup), which avoids any client-side enhancement. This way I'm getting by without the page stalling for about 2-3 seconds, while JQM enhances all elements in the search results. What I'm curious is whether I can gzip Ajax responses sent from Coldfusion.   I have an example below which has a terms div which has some terms and conditions as content. When the user scroll the div to bottom, then the checkbox is enabled. This is only not working only in IE 7 with IE 7/8/9 standards (I am changing the standard options from Developer window). • Help me upgrade my pf.conf for OpenBSD 4.7

  I'm planning on upgrading my OpenBSD to 4.7 (from 4.6) and as you may or may not know, they changed the syntax for pf.conf. This is the relevant portion from the upgrade guide: pf(4) NAT syntax change As described in more detail in this mailing list post, PF's separate nat/rdr/binat (translation) rules have been replaced with actions on regular match/filter rules. Simple rulesets may be converted like this: nat on $ext_if from 10/8 -> ($ext_if) rdr on $ext_if to ($ext_if) -> 1.2.3.4 becomes match out on $ext_if from 10/8 nat-to ($ext_if) match in on $ext_if to ($ext_if) rdr-to 1.2.3.4 and... binat on $ext_if from $web_serv_int to any -> $web_serv_ext becomes match on $ext_if from $web_serv_int to any binat-to $web_serv_ext nat-anchor and/or rdr-anchor lines, e.g. for relayd(8), ftp-proxy(8) and tftp-proxy(8), are no longer used and should be removed from pf.conf(5), leaving only the anchor lines. Translation rules relating to these and spamd(8) will need to be adjusted as appropriate. N.B.: Previously, translation rules had "stop at first match" behaviour, with binat being evaluated first, followed by nat/rdr depending on direction of the packet.   I am setting up a standard LEMP stack. • ASP.NET Elements are null when assigning data source

  For some reason, all of the objects in my ASP.NET markup are now null when I try to assign values to their properties in the code behind. My project was going fine and then now when I try to assign a data source to a GridView, I get a null reference error. I have no idea why it's doing this. I am not doing nothing special. I am just trying to assign a value to a property to an asp.net element in on the page. The intellisense knows that the element is there and I get no errors when I build the project. It's just when I am running the website I get the null reference. I have been trying to fix this issue for a couple weeks now. Please Help. Thanks.
