• What exactly does SCM stand for?

  In the software world, it seems to me that SCM is an unfortunately overloaded acronym. It can mean:- Source Code Management Software Configuration Management Which one of these is the dominant term? Do they mean the same thing? To me Source Code Management is essentially synonymous with Version Control. Whereas Software Configuration Management is a larger subject, which potentially includes Build and Release Management as well. However looking on Wikipedia, it lists Subversion as a Software Configuration Management tool, which is at most only tangentially true. Build and Software Management has come up before, but nothing definitive has been said on the matter, unfortunately.

  I have set up my mapping file and classes as suggested by many articles class A { ... IList BBag {get;set;} ... } class B { ... A aObject {get;set;} ... } <class name="A">...<bag name="BBag" table="B" inverse="true" lazy="false"><key column="A_ID" /><one-to-many class="B" /></bag>... <class name="B">...<many-to-one name="aObject" class="A" column="A_ID" />... I added a set of A's to the A table and a set of B's to the B table, all the data is stored as expected. However if I try and access aInstance.BBag.Count I get a null reference exception. I think I missing some key knowledge on how an bag gets instantiated. Thanks

What I have to do is to generate a XML-string (that works) an save that directly into a file on an ftps-server. So far, so good... I used the following code with ftp and it works to, but not with ftps. So I either need another options-configuration for the stream or a different way to solve that task. • Is it possible to chain -ms-filters in CSS?

  Does anyone know of a way to chain the proprietary filter properties in CSS. For example I have a div.example and I want to give it a background gradient and a drop shadow. So I'd like to do something like this: div.example { /* gradient */ filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Gradient(startColorstr=#cb141e78,endColorstr=#cb1dde78); /* shadow */ filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.dropShadow(color=00143c, offX=0, offY=3, positive=true); } Except this will of course leave only the drop shadow. Anyone know a good workaround?

• Type mismatch in expression in Delphi 7 on SQL append

  I have a code, that checks the current date when a form is loaded, performs a simple calculation, and appends a SQL in Delphi. It works on Windows 7 with Delphi 7, and on another computer with Xp, but doesn't on 3 other computers with Xp. When the form is loaded it shows a "Type mismatch in expression", and points to the line after the append. • cleaned_data() doesn't have some of the entered data

  I have a simple form for a user to enter in Name (CharField), Age(IntegerField), and Sex(ChoiceField). However the data that is taken from the Sex choice field is not showing up in my cleaned_data(). Using a debugger, I can clearly see that the data is being received in the correct format but as soon as I do form.cleaned_data() all sign of my choice field data is gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. • Writing to a java socket channel which should be closed does not generate an exception

  Hi all, We have a java server that keeps a socket channel open with an Android client in order to provide push capabilities to our client application. However, after putting the Android in airplane mode, which I expected would sever the connection, the server can still write to the SocketChannel object associated with that Android client and no error is thrown. Calling SocketChannel.isConnected() before writing to it returns true. What are we missing? Is the handling of sockets different with mobile devices? Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been using the AS3 Socket class,but I'm getting disconnected from the server side,soon after the connection is made but the client still shows the 'connected' property as true .The server is asynchronous and was written in python using asyncore/asynchat, it works fine with most open source MOO/MUD clients . I tried connecting my program to a simple synchronous echo server,here both read and write worked fine with no disconnections from either side . So my question is how do I make a persistent connection with the server?

  In Delphi 2007 and later, the global variable UseLatestCommonDialogs causes TOpenDialog to use the new Vista-style dialog on Windows Vista and 7. That's cool. Unfortunately, the Vista-style dialog does not seem to support the ofHideReadOnly option of TOpenDialog. The read-only checkbox never appears regardless whether this option is set to True or False. How can I make TOpenDialog show a read-only checkbox on the Vista-style dialog? TOpenTextFileDialog adds a combo box to the dialog regardless of whether it's Vista-style or not. It should be possible to add a read-only checkbox in the same way, but I can't figure out how to do it, even when looking at the source for TOpenTextFileDialog.

Symfony has since updated to 1.4 and switched default ORM to Doctrine. From my understanding, each ORM excels at particular types of database structures. Is this true or is one far and away better than the other?
