  • Quartz job fires multiple times

    Hi, I have a building block which sets up a Quartz job to send out emails every morning. The job is fired three times every morning instead of once. We have a hosted instance of Blackboard, which I am told runs on three virtual servers. I am guessing this is what is causing the problem, as the building block was previously working fine on a single server installation. Does anyone have Quartz experience, or could suggest how one might prevent the job from firing multiple times? Thanks,

I can't declare the interface methods as in-line when creating the dialog because I want to access variables in my class. Every other interface passes some sort of id to its methods to identify which object called the method, but I can't seem to do anything with 'DialogInterface dialog'.

    I have an ordinary project with JUnit tests that are connected to the classes in my Android Project. I want my server to run some JUnit tests in my testproject everytime I commit my code from my Android Project. Is there a best practise to do this? So far I only managed to run the tests when they are a part of a while the JUnit tests and Android classes are separated into 2 different projects, since JUnit runs on JVM and Android in an emulator on DVM (Dalvik Virtual Machine).

  • .NET invoking against an arbitrary control.

    I have a method which takes in a .NET control and calls invoke against it like so: Form.Invoke(Target); However, I've run into an issue numerous times calling this method where due to timing or whatever, the form handle on the form doesn't exist, causing a Invoke or BeginInvoke cannot be called on a control until the window handle has been created error. In frustration, I jokingly changed the code to: MainForm.Invoke(Target); where MainForm is the main window of the application (the form handle for the main form is created at startup and remains active for the entire life cycle of the application). I ran all the tests and manually tested the application and everything seems to work fine despite the fact that this is used everywhere. So my question is, what exactly is the meaning of invoking against a specific control? Is there any downside to just always invoking against a control you know will be active? If not, why does .NET have you invoke against a control in the first place (instead of just creating a static GuiThread.InvokeOnGuiThread(Blah);)?

  • Can you clear jquery ajax cache?

    Hi I am wondering is it possible to clear the cache from a particular ajax method? Say if I have this $.ajax({ url: "test.html", cache: true, success: function(html){ $("#results").append(html); } }); Now 99% of the time a cached result can be used since it should always be same content. However if a user updates this content it of course changes. If it is cached and it would still show the old content. So it would be cool if I could pick out this cache for this method and clear it and all other cached stuff would stay. Can this be done?

    Hi, I want to create an object, let's say a Pie. class Pie def initialize(name, flavor) @name = name @flavor = flavor end end But a Pie can be divided in 8 pieces, a half or just a whole Pie. For the sake of argument, I would like to know how I could give each Pie object a price per 1/8, 1/4 or per whole. I could do this by doing: class Pie def initialize(name, flavor, price_all, price_half, price_piece) @name = name @flavor = flavor @price_all = price_all @price_half = price_half @price_piece = price_piece end end But now, if I would create fifteen Pie objects, and I would take out randomly some pieces somewhere by using a method such as getPieceOfPie(pie_name) How would I be able to generate the value of all the available pies that are whole and the remaining pieces? Eventually using a method such as: myCurrentInventoryHas(pie_name) # output: 2 whole strawberry pies and 7 pieces. I know, I am a Ruby nuby. Thank you for your answers, comments and help!

I have the following json String: {"server":"clients","method":"whoIs","arguments":["hello"]} I am parsing it to the following Map< String, Object {arguments=[hello], method=whoIs, server=clients} It is now possible to do the following: request.get("arguments"); This works fine. But i need to get the array the is stored in the arguments. How can i accomplish this? I tried (for example) the following: System.out.println(request.get("arguments")[0]); But of course this doesn't work.. Does anybody know how this would be possible?

    I have a method with an incoming variable, which represents a script. e.g. hello.groovy Foo.init(this) Foo.groovy class Foo { static init(app) { } } What is the best way to add a ton of new functionality to the app variable in the init method? Basically, I would like to add all the functionality of another object to the app object. For instance, if I had another class: class Bar { def a() { } def b() { } } I would like the app object to basically be a new Bar(). In JavaScript, this is easy by using the prototype object, but I cannot seem to get it working in groovy. What is the best way to accomplish this? Or should I be doing something differently?

    Hi, i am getting an XmlWriter of the AppendChild() method of a xPathNavigator. using (XmlWriter writer = xPathNavigator.AppendChild()) { writer.WriteStartAttribute("name"); writer.WriteEndElement(); } The AppendChild() method returns a instance of XmlWellFormedWriter. I want to avoid linebreaks and spaces in my output xml. But the XmlWriterSettings are readonly and using an wrapper does not help anything. I tried this, but the setting of nether the wrapper nor the writer changes: XmlWriterSettings settings = new XmlWriterSettings(); settings.IndentChars = ""; settings.NewLineChars = ""; using (XmlWriter wrapper = xPathNavigator.AppendChild()) { XmlWriter writer = XmlWriter.Create(writer, settings); writer.WriteStartAttribute("name"); writer.WriteEndElement(); } Does anybody has an idea what todo?   • Fluent NHibernate Self Referencing Many To Many

    I have an entity called Books that can have a list of more books called RelatedBooks. The abbreviated Book entity looks something likes this: public class Book { public virtual long Id { get; private set; } public virtual IList<Book> RelatedBooks { get; set; } } Here is what the mapping looks like for this relationship HasManyToMany(x => x.RelatedBooks) .ParentKeyColumn("BookId") .ChildKeyColumn("RelatedBookId") .Table("RelatedBooks") .Cascade.SaveUpdate(); Here is a sample of the data that is then generated in the RelatedBooks table: BookId RelatedBookId 1 2 1 3 The problem happens when I Try to delete a book. If I delete the book that has an ID of 1, everything works ok and the RelatedBooks table has the two corresponding records removed. However if I try to delete the book with an ID of 3, I get the error "The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK5B54405174BAB605". The conflict occurred in database "Test", table "dbo.RelatedBooks", column 'RelatedBookId'". Basically what is happening is the Book cannot be deleted because the record in the RelatedBooks table that has a RelatedBookId of 3 is never deleted. How do I get that record to be deleted when I delete a book? EDIT After changing the Cascade from SaveUpdate() to All(), the same problem still exists if I try to delete the Book with an ID of 3. Also with Cascade set to All(), if delete the Book with and ID of 1, then all 3 books (ID's: 1, 2 and 3) are deleted so that won't work either. Looking at the SQL that is executed when the Book.Delete() method is called when I delete the Book with an ID of 3, it looks like the SELECT statement is looking at the wrong column (which I assume means that the SQL DELETE statment would make the same mistake, therefore never removing that record). Here is the SQL for the RelatedBook SELECT relatedboo0_.BookId as BookId3_ , relatedboo0_.RelatedBookId as RelatedB2_3_ , book1_.Id as Id14_0_ FROM RelatedBooks relatedboo0_ left outer join [Book] book1_ on relatedboo0_.RelatedBookId=book1_.Id WHERE relatedboo0_.BookId=3 The WHERE statment should look something like this for thie particular case: WHERE relatedboo0_.RelatedBookId = 3 SOLUTION Here is what I had to do to get it working for all cases Mapping: HasManyToMany(x => x.RelatedBooks) .ParentKeyColumn("BookId") .ChildKeyColumn("RelatedBookId") .Table("RelatedBooks"); Code: var book = currentSession.Get<Book>(bookId); if (book != null) { //Remove all of the Related Books book.RelatedBooks.Clear(); //Get all other books that have this book as a related book var booksWithRelated = currentSession.CreateCriteria<Book>() .CreateAlias("RelatedBooks", "br") .Add(Restrictions.Eq("br.Id", book.Id)) .List<Book>(); //Remove this book as a Related Book for all other Books foreach (var tempBook in booksWithRelated) { tempBook.RelatedBooks.Remove(book); tempBook.Save(); } //Delete the book book.Delete(); }

  • NHibernate, transactions and TransactionScope

    I'm trying to find the best solution to handle transaction in a web application that uses NHibernate. We use a IHttpModule and at HttpApplication.BeginRequest we open a new session and we bind it to the HttpContext with ManagedWebSessionContext.Bind(context, session); We close and unbind the session on HttpApplication.EndRequest. In our Repository base class, we always wrapped a transaction around our SaveOrUpdate, Delete, Get methods like, according to best practice: public virtual void Save(T entity) { var session = DependencyManager.Resolve<ISession>(); using (var transaction = session.BeginTransaction()) { session.SaveOrUpdate(entity); transaction.Commit(); } } But then this doesn't work, if you need to put a transaction somewhere in e.g. a Application service to include several repository calls to Save, Delete, etc.. So what we tried is to use TransactionScope (I didn't want to write my own transactionmanager). To test that this worked, I use an outer TransactionScope that doesn't call .Complete() to force a rollback: Repository Save(): public virtual void Save(T entity) { using (TransactionScope scope = new TransactionScope()) { var session = Depe.ndencyManager.Resolve<ISession>(); session.SaveOrUpdate(entity); scope.Complete(); } } The block that uses the repository: TestEntity testEntity = new TestEntity { Text = "Test1" }; ITestRepository testRepository = DependencyManager.Resolve<ITestRepository>(); testRepository.Save(testEntity); using (var scope = new TransactionScope()) { TestEntity entityToChange = testRepository.GetById(testEntity.Id); entityToChange.Text = "TestChanged"; testRepository.Save(entityToChange); } TestEntity entityChanged = testRepository.GetById(testEntity.Id); Assert.That(entityChanged.Text, Is.EqualTo("Test1")); This doesn't work. But to me if NHibernate supports TransactionScope it would! What happens is that there is no ROLLBACK at all in the database but when the testRepository.GetById(testEntity.Id); statement is executed a UPDATE with SET Text = "TestCahgned" is fired instead (It should have been fired between BEGIN TRAN and ROLLBACK TRAN). NHibernate reads the value from the level1 cache and fires a UPDATE to the database. Not expected behaviour!? From what I understand whenever a rollback is done in the scope of NHibernate you also need to close and unbind the current session. My question is: Does anyone know of a good way to do this using TransactionScope and ManagedWebSessionContext?

I have tried to use pattern.finditer(ifile) like this: for match in pattern.finditer(ifile): print match ... just to see if it works, but the finditer method requires a string or buffer. I have also tried this method, but can't get it to work matches = [m.groups() for m in pattern.finditer(ifile)] Any idea?

    Hi, c# .Net 3.5 visual studio 2008, windows xp I have a main form in a project, given a specific set of circumstances another form is instantiated and displayed to the user: Form frmT = new frmTargetFolder(expName, this); frmT.Show(); As you can see, I am passing a reference to the new form from the current one. My question is, what do I have to do to a method so that it is exposed to the new form, the same for a variable? I have tried defining the functions as public, but I can't seem to access them, also I have written a Get and Set method for a variable, again how do I expose these functions and methods to other forms? public void hit() { MessageBox.Show("hit it"); } bool setOverRide { get { return OverRide; } set { OverRide = value; } } The main form is called frmDataXfer and the form, form which I am trying to call the functions and methods of frmDataXfer is called frmTargetFolder, an instance of which is created in the frmDataXfer and referenced as frmT.   • Trying to access App.config file for mail settings but fails to work.

    Hello we have a Business Logic Layer which has an Email Services Class. In this class we have a method which will create an email(This part works and compiles fine). However when we try to access the app config file in order to test the method we get an error saying - Can't retrieve the app config mail settings and says all values are null when they are not. Here is the app config section for our code: <mailSettings> <smtp deliveryMethod="Network" from="[email protected]"> <network host="localhost" port="25" defaultCredentials="true"/> </smtp> </mailSettings> Here is there code we use to connect to the app.config: private System.Net.Configuration.MailSettingsSectionGroup mailSettings; SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient(mailSettings.Smtp.Network.Host, mailSettings.Smtp.Network.Port); What are we doing wrong here?

  • Intellisense in header files

    I just right now "migrated" from C# to C++/CLR. First I was annoyed, that I had to write all class' declarations twice (into .h and .cpp). Then I figured out, that I could place the code also into the h-files - it compiles at least. Well, I deleted all cpp's of my classes and now I realized, VS won't give me any Intellisense when I work on my h-files. I guess I should not place my code in the hfiles (the code won't be reused in other projects for sure), but I find it terrible to adjust all method declarations at two places... Plus I have to switch back and forth to see what modifier my method etc. and it is not nicely all in one place like in C# (with it's pros and cons). I'm sorry this is a newbie question, but I just wanted to make sure that there isn't any possibility to enable intellisense for hfiles. Or at least to learn, that I am completely on the wrong path...     Hello, I am wondering if you guys know different approach to disable an event for a while. Let me elaborate this more : Lets say I have a div or button which has a subscriber to its onclick event. To prevent the double click when the the methods are doing some ajax things, these are the some of the ways we can do : Disable the button till the method finishes its job Unbind till the methods finishes its job and then bind it again. Use some kind of flagging system like boolean so it will prevent method from working more than once. So is there any other ways, maybe some javascript tricks or jQuery tricks which is more efficient and better practice. Thanks in advance.

  • How to escape HAML for Javascript in Sinatra

    I would like to return a list/combobox from an ajax request ("Which on of these do you like?" type thing). I would like to write that little snippet in HAML, which converts it to HTML, but when I do, the page goes blank. I'm assuming this is because the HTML isn't escaped. Is there a way to escape HAML so I can do $("#mydiv").html(response);? Here's the method: post "/something" do # process... haml :"partials/_select", :layout => false, :locals => {:collection => choices} end ... the haml template: %select - collection.each do |item| %option{:value => item.to_s}= item.to_s ... and the javascript: success: function(responseText, statusText, xhr, $form) { $(".dialog_content").append(responseText); } I have tried the sinatra_more plugin and the escape_javascript method, but there's problems with the haml buffer in sinatra. Any ideas?
