  • How to fix this Speech Recognition on C# wicked bug?

    - by aF
Hello, I have this code in my C# project: public void startRecognition(string pName) { presentationName = pName; if (WaveNative.waveInGetNumDevs() > 0) { string grammar = System.Environment.GetEnvironmentVariable("PUBLIC") + "\\SoundLog\\Presentations\\" + presentationName + "\\SpeechRecognition\\soundlog.cfg"; if (File.Exists(grammar)) { File.Delete(grammar); } executeCommand(); /// Create an instance of SpSharedRecoContextClass which will be used /// to interface with the incoming audio stream recContext = new SpSharedRecoContextClass(); // Create the grammar object recContext.CreateGrammar(1, out recGrammar); //recContext.CreateGrammar(2, out recGrammar2); // Set up dictation mode //recGrammar2.SetDictationState(SpeechLib.SPRULESTATE.SPRS_ACTIVE); //recGrammar2.SetGrammarState(SPGRAMMARSTATE.SPGS_ENABLED); // Set appropriate grammar mode if (File.Exists(grammar)) { recGrammar.LoadCmdFromFile(grammar, SPLOADOPTIONS.SPLO_STATIC); //recGrammar.SetDictationState(SpeechLib.SPRULESTATE.SPRS_INACTIVE); recGrammar.SetGrammarState(SPGRAMMARSTATE.SPGS_ENABLED); recGrammar.SetRuleIdState(0, SPRULESTATE.SPRS_ACTIVE); } /// Bind a callback to the recognition event which will be invoked /// When a dictated phrase has been recognised. recContext.Recognition += new _ISpeechRecoContextEvents_RecognitionEventHandler(handleRecognition); // System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(recContext.ToString()); // gramática compilada } } private static void handleRecognition(int StreamNumber, object StreamPosition, SpeechLib.SpeechRecognitionType RecognitionType, SpeechLib.ISpeechRecoResult Result) { string temp = Result.PhraseInfo.GetText(0, -1, true); _recognizedText = ""; // System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(temp); // System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(recognizedWords.Count.ToString()); foreach (string word in recognizedWords) { if (temp.Contains(word)) { // System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show("yes"); _recognizedText = word; } } } This codes generates a dll that I use in another application. Now, the wicked bug: - when I run the startRecognition method in the beginning of the execution of the other application, this codes works very well. But when I run it some time after the beginning, this codes works but the handleRecognition method is never called. I see that the words are recognized because they appear on the Microsoft Speech Recognition app, but the handler method is never called. Do you know what's the problem with this code? Thanks in advance :D

  • XSLT for-each loop for element collection

    - by brain_pusher
Is it possible to make a for-each loop in XSLT not for a node set, but for my own collection of elements? For example, I split some string and have a string collection as a result. And I need to create a node for each item in the collection. I know that issue can be solved with a recursive template, but I want to know if it is possible to avoid a recursion.

  • Passing ActionListeners in Java, pack()

    - by Crystal
Two questions. First question is I'm trying to create a simple form that when you press a button, it adds a Person object to the ArrayList. However, since I am not used to GUIs, I tried creating one and am first just trying to get the user input from the JTextField, create an ActionListener object of the appropriate type, so once that works, then I can pass in all the JTextField inputs to create my Person object. Unfortunately, I am not getting any data when I type in something to the firstName JTextField and was wondering if someone could look at my code below. import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; import java.util.List; import java.util.ArrayList; public class AddressBook { public static void main(String[] args) { EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { AddressBookFrame frame = new AddressBookFrame(); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); JMenuBar menuBar = new JMenuBar(); frame.setJMenuBar(menuBar); JMenu fileMenu = new JMenu("File"); JMenuItem openItem = new JMenuItem("Open"); JMenuItem saveItem = new JMenuItem("Save"); JMenuItem saveAsItem = new JMenuItem("Save As"); JMenuItem printItem = new JMenuItem("Print"); JMenuItem exitItem = new JMenuItem("Exit"); fileMenu.add(openItem); fileMenu.add(saveItem); fileMenu.add(saveAsItem); fileMenu.add(printItem); fileMenu.add(exitItem); menuBar.add(fileMenu); JMenu editMenu = new JMenu("Edit"); JMenuItem newItem = new JMenuItem("New"); JMenuItem editItem = new JMenuItem("Edit"); JMenuItem deleteItem = new JMenuItem("Delete"); JMenuItem findItem = new JMenuItem("Find"); JMenuItem firstItem = new JMenuItem("First"); JMenuItem previousItem = new JMenuItem("Previous"); JMenuItem nextItem = new JMenuItem("Next"); JMenuItem lastItem = new JMenuItem("Last"); I don't like the stretch look and was hoping the JTextFields could be just one line long, not a big box. Same thing with the buttons. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  • Scala return type for tuple-functions

    - by Felix
Hello Guys, I want to make a scala function which returns a scala tuple. I can do a function like this: def foo = (1,"hello","world") and this will work fine, but now I want to tell the compiler what I expect to be returned from the function instead of using the built in type inference (after all, I have no idea what a (1,"hello","world") is) I thought I remembered the classname being something like Tuple3[Int,String,String] but that doesnt work for me. Suggestions? :D (ps: I love stack overflow!)

  • Declare Locally or Globally in Delphi?

    - by lkessler
I have a procedure my program calls tens of thousands of times that uses a generic structure like this: procedure PrintIndiEntry(JumpID: string); type TPeopleIncluded = record IndiPtr: pointer; Relationship: string; end; var PeopleIncluded: TList<TPeopleIncluded>; PI: TPeopleIncluded; begin { PrintIndiEntry } PeopleIncluded := TList<TPeopleIncluded>.Create; { A loop here that determines a small number (up to 100) people to process } while ... do begin PI.IndiPtr := ...; PI.Relationship := ...; PeopleIncluded.Add(PI); end; DoSomeProcess(PeopleIncluded); PeopleIncluded.Clear; PeopleIncluded.Free; end { PrintIndiEntry } Alternatively, I can declare PeopleIncluded globally rather than locally as follows: unit process; interface type TPeopleIncluded = record IndiPtr: pointer; Relationship: string; end; var PeopleIncluded: TList<TPeopleIncluded>; PI: TPeopleIncluded; procedure PrintIndiEntry(JumpID: string); begin { PrintIndiEntry } { A loop here that determines a small number (up to 100) people to process } while ... do begin PI.IndiPtr := ...; PI.Relationship := ...; PeopleIncluded.Add(PI); end; DoSomeProcess(PeopleIncluded); PeopleIncluded.Clear; end { PrintIndiEntry } procedure InitializeProcessing; begin PeopleIncluded := TList<TPeopleIncluded>.Create; end; procedure FinalizeProcessing; begin PeopleIncluded.Free; end; My question is whether in this situation it is better to declare PeopleIncluded globally rather than locally. I know the theory is to define locally whenever possible, but I would like to know if there are any issues to worry about with regards to doing tens of thousands of of "create"s and "free"s? Making them global will do only one create and one free. What is the recommended method to use in this case? If the recommended method is to still define it locally, then I'm wondering if there are any situations where it is better to define globally when defining locally is still an option.

  • A few questions about char pointers.

    - by m4design
1- How does this work: char *ptr = "hi"; Now the compiler will put this string in the memory (I'm guessing the stack), and create a pointer to it? Is this is how it works? 2- Also if it is created locally in a function, when the function returns will the memory occupied by the string be freed? 3- Last but not least, why is this not allowed: ptr[0] = 'H'; ?

  • C# coding standards for private member variables [closed]

    - by Sasha
I saw two common approaches for coding standards for private member variables: class Foo { private int _i; private string _id; } and class Foo { private int m_i; private string m_id; } I believe the latter is coming from C++. Also, many people specify type before the member variable: double m_dVal -- to indicate that is is a nonconstant member variable of the type double? What are the conventions in C#?

  • Delphi plugin for pasting text constants in source code?

    - by mjn
Inserting (pasting from clipboard) of text constants in the Delphi code editor requires some manual "postprocessing" ... split up long text into multiple lines (and insert the string concatenation symbol) escape quotes (replace single quotes with double quotes) enclose the string with quotes keep original white space (leadinng blanks, line feeds) Is there a IDE plugin available which helps to reduce these manual steps?

Am I missing an option? I set cache to false but that does not block it from being sent to client. For example, ajax POST does not send a local copy..... Thanks

  • How to assign a value of a property to a var ONLY if the object isn't null

    - by Blankman
In my code, is there a shorthand that I can use to assign a variable the value of a object's property ONLY if the object isn't null? string username = SomeUserObject.Username; // fails if null I know I can do a check like if(SomeUserObject != null) but I think I saw a shorthand for this kind of test. I tried: string username = SomeUserObject ?? "" : SomeUserObject.Username; But that doesn't work.

  • Form graphics not set when form loads

    - by Jimmy
    My form has a group box which contains two overlapping rectangles. The form's other controls are two sets of four numeric up down controls to set the rectangles' colors. (nudF1,2,3 and 4 set the rectangle that's in front, and nudB1,2,3 and 4 set the rectangle that's behind.) Everything works fine, except that the rectangles do not display the colors set in the numeric up downs when the form first loads. The numeric up down controls' ChangeValue events all call the ShowColors() method. The form's Load event calls the csColorsForm_Load() method. Any suggestions? namespace csColors { public partial class csColorsForm : Form { public csColorsForm() { InitializeComponent(); } private void csColorsForm_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.DarkBlue; SetColors(sender, e); } private void SetColors(object sender, EventArgs e) { Control control = (Control)sender; String ctrlName = control.Name; Graphics objGraphics; Rectangle rect1, rect2; int colorBack, colorFore; objGraphics = this.grpColor.CreateGraphics(); // If calling control is not a forecolor control, paint backcolor rectangle if (ctrlName.Substring(0,4)!="nudF") { colorBack = int.Parse(SetColorsB("nudB"), NumberStyles.HexNumber); SolidBrush BrushB = new SolidBrush(Color.FromArgb(colorBack)); rect1 = new Rectangle(this.grpColor.Left, this.grpColor.Top, this.grpColor.Width, this.grpColor.Height); objGraphics.FillRectangle(BrushB, rect1); } // Always paint forecolor rectangle colorFore = int.Parse(SetColorsB("nudF"), NumberStyles.HexNumber); SolidBrush BrushF = new SolidBrush(Color.FromArgb(colorFore)); rect2 = new Rectangle(this.grpColor.Left, this.grpColor.Top, this.grpColor.Width, this.grpColor.Height); objGraphics.FillRectangle(BrushF, rect2); objGraphics.Dispose(); } private string SetColorsB(string nam) { string txt=""; for (int n = 1; n <= 4; ++n) { var ud = Controls[nam + n] as NumericUpDown; int hex = (int)ud.Value; txt += hex.ToString("X2"); } return txt; } private void btnClose_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.Close(); } } }

I am defining a primary key in MongoMapper. class B key :_id, string key :externalId, string end The problem is that everything i add a new record in B, it appears that I need to explicity specify the _id, when it is already defined in the external id B.new(:_id=>"123", :external_id=>"123 ) That does not quite make sense. There should be a way to specify externalId as the primary key, no?

  • Inconsistent email formatting with inline css created using Javamail

    - by user1816183
Okay, so I have a program that sends an email when it is finished running. I use inline css to format the email. This was working up until yesterday however now I am seeing different formats depending on which email account I view the email in. It coincides with an upgrade from Selenium 2.35.0 to 2.37.0 however I don't think this is my issue since I rolled back to 2.35.0 and it still happens. package tests; import java.util.Properties; import javax.mail.Message; import javax.mail.Session; import javax.mail.Transport; import javax.mail.internet.InternetAddress; import javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage; public class TESTTEST { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { Properties props = new Properties(); props.put("mail.smtp.host","xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"); Session session = Session.getInstance(props); String emailFrom="[email protected]"; String emailTo1="[email protected]"; MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage(session); message.setSubject("Testing HTML Email"); message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(emailFrom)); String htmlBody = "<STYLE>body {font-family:sans-serif,arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:9pt;}" +"TABLE {border-collapse:collapse;border:1px solid black;}" +"TH {background-color:grey;color:white;padding:5px;border:1px solid black;font-size:9pt;}" +"TD {padding:5px;border:1px solid black;font-size:9pt;}" +"H3 {font-size:12pt;}" +".PASSED {background-color:#00FF00}" +".FAILED {background-color:#FF0000}" +".SKIPPED {background-color:#DEDEDE}" +".ITALIC {font-style:italic}" +"</STYLE>" + "<TABLE><TR><TD CLASS=PASSED>FAIL</TD><TD STYLE=background-color:#FF0000>FAIL</TD></TR></TABLE>"; message.setContent(htmlBody, "text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"); message.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO,new InternetAddress(emailTo1)); Transport.send(message,message.getRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO)); System.out.println(htmlBody); System.out.println("Email Sent"); } } When I view the email in Hotmail/Outlook.com, it looks fine In Gmail In Lotus Notes Anybody able to help?
