We are actually looking to speed up the GDI and to implement the hardware cursor. So for that i want to know abt the GDI and the Hardware Cursor. I am also referring WC600_MX51_SDK_0912_ReferenceManual.pdf & MCIMX51RM.pdf and in these pdf i came to know that the hardware cursor is related to Display Processor module . But still i am unclear, what exactly does speed up of GDI means & Hardware cursor means? Please guide me the correct step to how to achieve my target....

• Why is WPFToolkit DataGrid so slow when binding?

  I have a very simple test application where I have two objects, each with a small collection of items. when I select an object I display its collection in a WPFToolkit DataGrid. The problem is there is a noticeable delay, such that if you press up/down keys to toggle selection between objects you can see it can't keep up.   All, I have an AJAX request, which makes a JSON request to a server, to get the sync status. The JSON Request and responses are as under: I want to display a JQuery UI progressbar and update the progressbar status, as per the percentage returned in the getStatus JSON response. If the status is "insync", then the progressbar should not appear and a message should be displayed instead. Ex: "Server is in Sync". • Freeze the indent of a row group in DevExpress GridControl

  I am required to display a DevExpress WinForms GridControl where the rows must be grouped by a date column. When horizontally scrolling the grid, I am required to keep the group row and group indents fixed to the left of the control (so they do not scroll with the columns). I have so far been unable to find any built-in capability for this. There is the ability to fix a column to the left or right side of the control, but the indent is not a true column. FYI, the group row portion is staying "fixed" by handling the drawing of it to always position it at the left. I do not see a way of controlling the drawing of the indent however. Attempts to custom draw an indent have been unsuccessful so far. We are using version 9.3.2.0 of the DevExpress XtraGrid controls for WinForms. Does anyone have any solutions or workarounds that might allow us to at least give the appearance that the group indents are fixed? Thank you!

• UIScrollView and UIImage in it with paging enabled

  Hello guys! I need to display 10 - 1000 images on a UIScrollView. Paging is enabled. So every page of the scrollview is an image, it is an uiimage. I can load 10 images to 10 uiimages which stays in the memory, but with 1000 images I have problems on the iPhone or on the iPad. I am trying to unload and then load the images when I am doing scrolling. I every time displays 3 images. The current page image, and the -1 and +1 pages. When I am scrolling I unload the image and then load the next. With this method I have two problems. The scrolling is laggy and if I scroll very fast the images don't appear. Maybe is there any good solution for these problems? Can you suggest me one?

  Hi, I'm just learning to use OpenCV and am having a problem with using DFT. I've done a signal processing class which used MatLab, so I'm trying to go through some of the exercises we did in that class. I'm trying to get and display the FT of an image, so I can mask some of the frequencies. I'd like to be able to see the FT, so I know how big to make the mask, but when I tried, I got an image like this: rather than like one of these Am I forgetting a step somewhere? I'm loading the image, converting its type to CV_32FC1, getting the matrix of it, getting the DFT, and then getting turning the resulting matrix back into an image. I'll post the code I'm using if it will be of any help? Or if someone has a link to an example of displaying the FT? I could only find ones which used it for the convolution. EDIT: Did I get the Phase of the image?

• Silverlight for Windows Embedded Tutorial (step 5 and a bit of Windows Phone 7)

  If you haven’t spent the last week in the middle of the Sahara desert or traveling on a sled in the north pole area you should have heard something about the launch of Windows Phone 7 Series (or Windows Phone Series 7, or Windows Series Phone 7 or something like that). Even if you are in the middle of the desert or somewhere around the north pole you may have been reached by the news, since it seems that WP7S (using the full name will kill my available bandwidth!) is generating a lot of buzz in the development and IT communities. One of the most important aspects of this new platform is that it will be programmed using a new set of tools and frameworks, completely different from the ones used on older releases of Windows Mobile (or SmartPhone, or PocketPC or whatever…). WP7S applications can be developed using Silverlight or XNA. If you want to learn something more about WP7S development you can download the preview of Charles Petzold’s book about it: http://www.charlespetzold.com/phone/index.html Charles Petzold is also the author of “Programming Windows”, the first book I ever read about programming on Windows (it was Windows 3.0 at that time!). The fact that even I was able to learn how to develop Windows application is a proof of the quality of Petzold’s work. This book is up to his standards and the 150pages preview is already rich in technical contents without being boring or complicated to understand. I may be able to become a Windows Phone developer thanks to mr. Petzold. Mr. Petzold uses some nice samples to introduce the basic concepts of Silverlight development on WP7S. On this new platform you’ll use managed code to develop your application, so those samples can’t be ported on Windows CE R3 as they are, but I would like to take one of the first samples (called “SilverlightTapHello1”) and adapt it to Silverlight for Windows Embedded to show that even plain old native code can be used to develop “cool” user interfaces! The sample shows the standard WP7S title header and a textbox with an hello world message inside it. When the user touches the textbox, it will change its color. When the user touches the background (Grid) behind it, its default color (plain old White) will be restored. Let’s see how we can implement the same features on our embedded device! I took the XAML code of the sample (you can download the book samples here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/D/B/1DB49641-3956-41F1-BAFA-A021673C709E/CodeSamples_DRAFTPreview_ProgrammingWindowsPhone7Series.zip) and changed it a little bit to remove references to WP7S or managed runtime. If you compare the resulting files you will see that I was able to keep all the resources inside the App.xaml files and the structure of  MainPage.XAML almost intact. I also changed the hello message, of course. I added the code to load a resource dictionary. Resources are an important feature of XAML that allows you to define some values that could be replaced inside any XAML file loaded by the runtime. You can use resources to define custom styles for your fonts, backgrounds, controls etc. and to support internationalization, by providing different strings for different languages. The rest of our WinMain isn’t that different. It creates an instances of our MainPage object and displays it. Since our TextBlock is inside the grid, we don’t need to provide an event handler for its MouseLeftButtonDown event. We can just use the pOriginalSource member of the event arguments to check if the event was generated inside the textblock. If the event was generated inside the grid we create a white brush,if it’s inside the textblock we create some randomly colored brush. Notice that we need to use the RGBA macro to create colors, specifying also a transparency value for them. If we use the RGB macro the resulting color will have its Alpha channel set to zero and will be transparent. Using the SetForeground method we can change the color of our control. You can compare this to the managed code that you can find at page 40-41 of Petzold’s preview book and you’ll see that the native version isn’t much more complex than the managed one. • [cocoa] NSSearchField not working as expected

  Hi, I'm trying to follow Marcus Zarra in his book 'Core Data'. In the book, he makes a small sample application, but it doesn't give much help when things don't work out... He starts out by visually designing three entities, and then adding array controllers for each entity to the main nib. Second, he adds a tableview and some other visual components to show data from the array controllers. So far, I have managed to follow, but now he adds a search field to the gui, and binds it to the same array controller as one of the tableviews. Expected behavior would be for the tableview to get filtered when typing in the search field, but nothing happens. How do I find out what's wrong? The relevant parts from the nib is as follow: NSArrayController Recipes - Mode = Entity - Enitity Name = Recipe TableView w/TableColumn - Value Bind To Recipes -- Controller Key = arrangedObjects -- Model Key Path = name Search Field - Predicate Bind To Recipes -- Controller Key = filterPredicate -- Model Key Path = name -- Display name = predicate -- Predicate Format = keyPath contains $value There are no relevant messages in the console. regards, -Vegar

• Clicking DetailsView’s Update button doesn’t cause a postback

• lwjgl applets 101: How can I write them?

  I have a working app in lwjgl. It doesn't do much yet; I've just started, but it does compile and run like it's supposed to. I want to make it into an applet. I've followed the guide here, and I have an applet that runs nicely and displays text and such in the applet area and can access the functions of lwjgl (like Sys.alert), but I can't figure out how to get opengl to actually render. I've tried extending an AWTGLCanvas and calling this.add(myAWTGLCanvas), where this is the Applet that I'm using, but... nothing. The initGL() and paintGL() methods never get called. I wonder if I'm supposed to be doing something with Display, but that's not for applets, right? Help? Also: This counts as a "beginner" question, right?

• Anyone else unable to listen to uncaughtErrorEvent when loaded by another swf?

  When I try to access the uncaughtErrorEvents dispatcher when loaded directly, everything works well. • GWT - ListBox - pre-selecting an item

  Hey there Stackoverflow, I got a doubt regarding pre-selecting(setSelectedIndex(index)) an item in a ListBox, Im using Spring + GWT. I got a dialog that contains a painel, this panel has a flexpanel, in which I've put a couple ListBox, this are filled up with data from my database. But this painel is for updates of an entity in my database, thus I wanted it to pre-select the current properties for this items, alowing the user to change at will. I do the filling up in the update method of the widget. I tried setting the selectedItem in the update method, but it gives me an null error. I've searched a few places and it seems that the listbox are only filled at the exact moment of the display. Thus pre-selecting would be impossible. I thought about some event, that is fired when the page is displayed. onLoad() doesnt work.. Anyone have something to help me out in here? Thx in advance, Rodrigo Dellacqua

• UIImages not displaying in TableView on iPhone, but working in Simulator

  Hi, I have a UITable View that displays an image in the left hand side of the table cell, and it works fine in the simulator. Only problem is, once I ran it on my device no images appear. It's just a blank white space. Have checked that images are added to resource folder for build (which they are) and that capitals etc. match (which they do). Any ideas? Thanks. • Where is the displaytag of scheduled reporting?

  So I have been making some reports and using displaytag to output these reports in html, csv, excel, pdf, etc. They are paginated, and take a simple object graph... and output excellent results everytime, with very little code. However, I need to use displaytag or its equivalent outside of a jsp. So that a user can schedule a report to run, and that report is stored in a db, or emailed for later viewing. I have looked at jasper-based reporting solutions, but making a jasper jrxml file is just a nightmare. I know there are gui tools to help, but I'm content with the simple output of displaytable, so I'm happy to give up that control for ease of implementation. Really, if I could take the display:table config out of the jsp I would, so please keep that in mind when proposing a solution. btw, java solutions would be my cup of tea.

It has the following events declared: public class DirectoryMonitor { public event EventHandler<MonitorEventArgs> CreatedNewBook; public event EventHandler ScanStarted; .... } public class MonitorEventArgs : EventArgs { public Book Book { get; set; } } There is a form using that monitor, and upon receiving the events, it should update the display.   I have a half dozen sites on my server and I would like to get some info from IIS7 to display in the footer of each page (as long as you are an admin of course). I am going through the ServerObject and found Sites but am not finding anything obvious for "this site". What should I do to get at the information for the exact site in IIS7 that the page is running on? • QPainter::drawText bounding boxes for each character

  I'm using QPainter to draw multiline text on QImage. However, I also need to display a colored rectangle around each character's bounding box. So I need to know the bounding box that each character had when being drawn. For example, for painter.drawText(QRect(100, 100, 200, 200), Qt::TextWordWrap, "line\nline2", &r); I would need to get 10 rectangles, taking into account newlines, word-wrap, tabs, etc. For example, the rectangle of the second 'l' would be below the rectangle of the first 'l', instead of being to the right of 'e', because of the newline.

  I would like to create application with ribbon interface that looks and behaves like this: application have one main form with ribbon ribbon has multiple tabs when user switches tab on ribbon, panel below ribbon changes and displays content related to ribbon panel. That way, ribbon tab acts as if it is tab over whole window. For example, ribbon have two tabs: people and tasks. When current ribbon panel is "people", below ribbon is displayed grid with people data. Ribbon contains command for manipulating people data. When user switches to "tasks" tab on ribbon, application should display form with tasks below ribbon. Question is can ribbon be used in this scenario? I read "OFFICE FLUENT™ USER INTERFACE DESIGN GUIDELINES" that describe what you can and cannot do with ribbon, but I could not find anything about this.

• UIToolbar above UIWebView inside UIScrollView

  I'd like to display a toolbar above a UIWebView but hide the toolbar until the person "pulls it down". The same functionality can be seen in Safari on the iPhone. When the page loads, the toolbar containing the address is hidden. You must pull it down. In Safari it's possible to scroll up and eventually see the toolbar or scroll down through the page contents. I've tried placing a UIToolbar and UIWebView inside a UIScrollView but it didn't work. I've tried setting the UIScrollView to the size of the toolbar and webview combined, but that didn't work. - (void)viewDidLoad{ CGSize size = CGSizeMake(webView.frame.size.width, toolBar.frame.size.height + webView.frame.size.height); [scrollView setContentSize:size]; } How should I go about doing this?

• Suggestion for dragster/dropzone like dock menu

  I'd like to create a dragster/dropzone like dock menu. Looks a bit like a stack with a nsview in it. After a lot if documentation searching and googling I've found a way to determine a dock icon's location. (http://cocoadev.com/forums/comments.php?DiscussionID=1431) Is nzbdrop creating a view which just looks like an stack to display it's menu or is there a better way of creating this? Additional info: I'm not looking for the drop like functionality just the nice way the DropBox window is displayed as an bubble/stack menu on top of it's app icon.
