  Good aftenoon, I created a super simple console app to test out the Enterprise Library Caching Application Block, and the behavior is blaffling. I'm hoping I screwed something that's easy to fix in the setup. Have each item expire after 5 seconds for testing purposes. Basic setup -- "every second pick a number between 0 and 2. if the cache doesn't already have it, put it in there -- otherwise just grab it from the cache. Do this inside a LOCK statement to ensure thread safety. • How to intercept raw soap request/response (data) from WCF client

  This question seems to be pretty close to what I am looking for - I was able to setup tracing and I am looking at the log entries for my calls to the service. However I need to see the raw soap request with the data I am sending to the service and I see no way of doing that from the SvcTraceViewer (only log entries are shown but no data sent to the service) - am I just missing configuration?   I'm creating a game desk. I wanted to specify field size (one field is a square) as a attached property and with this data set value of ViewPort which would draw 2x2 matrix (and tile mode would do the rest of game desk). I'm quite at loss what is wrong because the binding doesn't work. • WPF TabItem Custom ContentTemplate

  I have been strugging with this for a while, it would have been simple to do in WindowForms. I am making a IRC Client, there will be a number of Tabs one for each channel connect to. Each Tab needs to show a number of things, UserList, MessageHistory, Topic. In WindowForms i would just have inherited from TabItem, added some Custom Properties, and Controls, and done. In WPF i am having some slight issues with working out how to do it. • ASP.NET MVC jquery.UI dialog - How to validate the dialog's input on server and return error?

  I am using jQuery1.4.2, ASP.NET MVC 2 and jQuery.UI-1.8. I am creating a data input dialog which works OK when all the data is valid, but I want to validate the input data on the server and return an error to the dialog describing the error and I am not quite sure how to do that and keep the dialog open. The dialog is opened when a link is clicked. The solution may be to try to bypass more of the MVC framework's default binding that handles the submit button clicks and creates the expected ProfilePermission object and calls the Controller's AddPermission POST Action method, but I was hoping there may be an easier way without have to write more jquery/javascript code to handle the button clicks and pass the data to the server.   Hello, I am getting the following error when trying to update an object using nhibernate. I am attempting to update a field which is a foreign key. Any thoughts why I might be getting this error? • Add Service Reference is generating Message Contracts

  OK, this has been haunting me for a while, can't find much on Google and I am starting to lose hope so I am reverting to the SO community. When I import a given service using "Add service Reference" on Visual Studio 2008 (SP1) all the Request/Response messages are being unnecessarily wrapped into Message Contracts (named as -- "operationName" + "Request"/"Response" + "1" at the end). The code generator says: // CODEGEN: Generating message contract since the operation XXX is neither RPC nor document wrapped. The guys who are generating the wsdl from a Java service say they are specifying DOCUMENT-LITERAL/WRAPPED. Any help/pointer/clue would be highly appreciated. Update: this is a sample of my wsdl for one of the operations that look suspicious. In the meanwhile I am hoping it might ring a bell - any help highly appreciated.

  I've started a new project in WPF 4 (.NET 4) and trying to see if I can run it in xbap mode. I need to run the application in Full Trust with the new mode made available in .NET 4 which asks the end user if the full trust application should be run.   I've been struggling with this "simple" task for more expirienced people, I'm stuck for 2 days now need help. I've changed things arround like zillion times now, finally I stumbled upon this spring JMS tutorial. What I want to do, Send a message and receive it. I've been also reading this book chapter 8 on messaging. It really nicely explains 2 type of messaging and there is nice example for publish-and-subscribe type but now example for point-to-point messaging( this is the one I need). Once you’ve done this, methods on the MessageConsumer enable you to either query the Destination for messages or to register for message notification. Can somebody please direct me towards right direction, is there a tutorial which explains in details how to receive message from the queue?I have the working send message code, didn't post it here because this post is too long as it is.

• "Access is denied" JavaScript error when trying to access the document object of a programmatically-

  I have project in which I need to create an <iframe> element using JavaScript and append it to the DOM. After that, I need to insert some content into the <iframe>. It's a widget that will be embedded in third-party websites. I don't set the "src" attribute of the <iframe> since I don't want to load a page; rather, it is used to isolate/sandbox the content that I insert into it so that I don't run into CSS or JavaScript conflicts with the parent page. I'm using JSONP to load some HTML content from a server and insert it in this <iframe>. I have this working fine, with one serious exception - if the document.domain property is set in the parent page (which it may be in certain environments in which this widget is deployed), Internet Explorer (probably all versions, but I've confirmed in 6, 7, and 8) gives me an "Access is denied" error when I try to access the document object of this <iframe> I've created. It doesn't happen in any other browsers I've tested in (all major modern ones). This makes some sense, since I'm aware that Internet Explorer requires you to set the document.domain of all windows/frames that will communicate with each other to the same value. However, I'm not aware of any way to set this value on a document that I can't access. Is anyone aware of a way to do this - somehow set the document.domain property of this dynamically created <iframe>? Or am I not looking at it from the right angle - is there another way to achieve what I'm going for without running into this problem? I do need to use an <iframe> in any case, as the isolated/sandboxed window is crucial to the functionality of this widget. • ADO.NET (WCF) Data Services Query Interceptor Hangs IIS

  I have an ADO.NET Data Service that's supposed to provide read-only access to a somewhat complex database. Logically I have table-per-type (TPT) inheritance in my data model but the EDM doesn't implement inheritance. (Limitation of EF and navigation properties on derived types. STILL not fixed in EF4!) I can query my EDM directly (using a separate project) using a copy of the query I'm trying to run against the web service, results are returned within 10 seconds. Disabling the query interceptors I'm able to make the same query against the web service, results are returned similarly quickly. I can enable some of the query interceptors and the results are returned slowly, up to a minute or so later. Alternatively, I can enable all the query interceptors, expand less of the properties on the main object I'm querying, and results are returned in a similar period of time. (I've increased some of the timeout periods) Up til this point Sql Profiler indicates the slow-down is the database. (That's a post for a different day) But when I enable all my query interceptors and expand all the properties I'd like to have the IIS worker process pegs the CPU for 20 minutes and a query is never even made against the database. This implies to me that yes, my implementation probably sucks but regardless the Data Services "tier" is having an issue it shouldn't. WCF tracing didn't reveal anything interesting to my untrained eye. Details: Data model: Agent-Person-Student Student has a collection of referrals Students and referrals are private, queries against the web service should only return "your" students and referrals. This means Person and Agent need to be filtered too. Other entities (Agent-Organization-School) can be accessed by anyone who has authenticated. The existing security model is poorly suited to perform this type of filtering for this type of data access, the query interceptors are complicated and cause EF to generate some entertaining sql queries.   Hi, I have serious problem with iframe application. I need to use many external JS libraries and other dynamic stuuf so FMBL application can't be done. When I call require_login() I get applicaition installing dialog when app is not already installed, which is ok. But then after authorization application enters an endless redirect loop with parameters like auth_token, installed and so. Yesterday I managed to fix this, but today it's broken again... What the heck is happening with FB? It's driving me crazy to find a sollution, none of ones found on net doesn't seem to be working. • How can I bind the nested viewmodels to properties of a control

  I used Microsoft's Chart Control of the WPF toolkit to write my own chart control. I blogged about it here. My Chart control stacks the yaxes in the chart on top of each other. As you can read in the article this all works quite well. Now I want to create a viewmodel that controls the data and axes in the chart. So far I'm able to add axes to the chart and show them in the chart. But I have a problem when I try to add the lineseries because it has one DependentAxis and one InDependentAxis property. I don't know how to assign the proper xAxis and yAxis controls to it. Below you see part of the LineSeriesViewModel. • how do I access XHR responseBody from Javascript?

  I've got a web page that uses XMLHttpRequest to download a binary resource. Because it's binary I'm trying to use xhr.responseBody to access the bytes. I've seen a few posts suggesting that it's impossible to access the bytes directly from Javascript. This sounds crazy to me. Weirdly, xhr.responseBody is accessible from VBScript, so the suggestion is that I must define a method in VBScript in the webpage, and then call that method from Javascript. The best way? copying every byte? For a large binary stream that's not gonna be very efficient. There is also a possible technique using ADODB.Stream, which is a COM equivalent of a MemoryStream. See here for an example. • Javascript Noob Question. Need Help With Simple Script

  Hi everyone, I am new to JavaScript (only a couple of days of reading a book) and I am stuck on this code snippet. I have looked at it over and over again but cannot seem to figure out why it is not working. I am sure it is something really simple that I have just looked over but I really just need a fresh pair of eyes to look at this. The code is supposed to update a placeholder image on a page without the page having to reload. But when I am clicking on the link of an image, it is taking me to the link where the image is located instead of replacing the placeholder image. • Multiple "pages" in GWT with human friendly URLs

  Hi. I'm playing with a GWT/GAE project which will have three different "pages", although it is not really pages in a GWT sense. The top views (one for each page) will have completely different layouts, but some of the widgets will be shared. One of the pages is the main page which is loaded by the default url (http://www.site.com), but the other two needs additional URL information to differentiate the page type. They also need a name parameter, (like http://www.site.com/project/project-name. There are at least two solutions to this that I'm aware of. Use GWT history mechanism and let page type and parameters (such as project name) be part of the history token. Use servlets with url-mapping patterns (like /project/*) The first choice might seem obvious at first, but it has several drawbacks. First, a user should be able to easily remember and type URL directly to a project. It is hard to produce a human friendly URL with history tokens. Second, I'm using gwt-presenter and this approach would mean that we need to support subplaces in one token, which I'd rather avoid. Third, a user will typically stay at one page, so it makes more sense that the page information is part of the "static" URL. Using servlets solves all these problems, but also creates other ones. So my first questions is, what is the best solution here? If I would go for the servlet solution, new questions pop up. It might make sense to split the GWT app into three separate modules, each with an entry point. Each servlet that is mapped to a certain page would then simply forward the request to the GWT module that handles that page. Since a user typically stays at one page, the browser only needs to load the js for that page. Based on what I've read, this solution is not really recommended. I could also stick with one module, but then GWT needs to find out which page it should display. It could either query the server or parse the URL itself. If I stick with one GWT module, I need to keep the page information stored on server side. Naturally I thought about sessions, but I'm not sure if its a good idea to mix page information with user data. A session usually lives between user login and logout, but in this case it would need different behavior. Would it be bad practise to handle this via sessions? The one GWT module + servlet solution also leads to another problem. If a user goes from a project page to the main page, how will GWT know that this has happened? The app will not be reloaded, so it will be treated as a simple state change. It seems rather ineffecient to have to check page info for every state change. Anyone care to guide me out of the foggy darkness that surrounds me? :-)

It may be possible there are some weird things in my Java code because I changed a lot since. I hope you guys will be able to help me, thanks. EDIT: My webservice is of document/literal encoding style, after doing some research I found I should be able to use SoepEnvelope Instead of SoapSerializationEnvelope Though when I replace this I get an error before the try cache block, causing my app to crash. Error: 11-04 16:23:26.786: E/AndroidRuntime(26447): Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.ksoap2.serialization.SoapObject cannot be cast to org.kxml2.kdom.Node Which is caused by these lines: request.addSoapObject(UserCredentials); soapEnv.setOutputSoapObject(request); This may be a solution though, how do I go about this? I found nothing about using a SoapEnvelope instead of a SoapSerializationEnvelope except for this awesome tutorial: http://ksoap.objectweb.org/project/mailingLists/ksoap/msg00849.html
