    I need to build a quick feasibility test / proof-of-concept of a remote database for a client, that will be populated with mostly-typical Company and People data (names, addresses, etc); 150K records or so. The sample databases mentioned here were helpful: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/57068/good-databases-with-sample-data ...but, I'd like to be able to generate sample data like this easily on less-typical datasets as well. Anyone have any recommendations for off-the-shelf (or off-the-web) solutions?

    I'm using carrier-specific addresses to send email to SMS, which works fine. In reference to the answer of this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1179854/limitations-on-sms-messages-sent-using-free-email-sms-gateways is there any websites or other resources that list the format that is delivered for each carrier. ATT for example delivers the SMS with some added formatting that is not present with T-Mobile. I realize this is not a coding question, but since I can only see this question arising for someone that is creating email to SMS specific applications, it seems relevant to SO.

    Dear fellow Programmers, I try to use the following google map webservice in order to locate greek addresses: http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=??ad?µ?a? 16&sensor=false and it does not work. If I hit the same exactly address but written with latin alphabet characters: maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=akadimias 16&sensor=false, it works and returns the right result. Could somebody help with this? (To use this service with greek letters as language parameter) Thank you in advance, Nicholas

    I have a class that I am using to model my data in MVC. I have added some DataAnotations to mark fields that are required and I am using regular expressions to check valid Email Addresses. Everything works fine if the object is posted back to MVC and I have the ModelState property that I can check to confirm that the class is valid but how do I check to see if the class is valid outside of MVC using the same class and Data Anotations that I have already set up?

    I'm trying to find a list of TLD's to their corresponding whois server, for example .com americanWhoisServer .net someOtherWhoisServer .au australianWhoisServer In the end i'm aiming for something like a Dictionary where the key is the TLD and the value is the whois server address (eg whois.apnic.net). Ah snap, i just realised that i am given the IP addresses and not domain names but a list could still come in handy. How can i determine which whois server to use given a IP address? Guess and check?

    hi all I have a cms that runs on multiple domains and therefore needs to pull emails into the app for multiple email addresses. I have setup rackspace email for a hosted email solution and am trying to find the best way to pull the emails into my app from all the mailboxes. Should i be using pop3 or imap ? should i be pulling into a que system then into rails app ? Is there a gem / plugin for this ? thanks alot for help in advance Rick

    I tested my application with FastMM and FullDebugMode turned on, since I had some shutdown problems. After solving bunch of my own problems FastMM started to complain about calling virtual method on a freed object in TPopupList. I tried to move the menus unit as early as possible in uses so that it would be finalized last, but it didn't help. Is this real problem, a bug in vcl or false alarm from FastMM?   • C# XPath Not Finding Anything

    I'm trying to use XPath to select the items which have a facet with Location values, but currently my attempts even to just select all items fail: The system happily reports that it found 0 items, then returns (instead the nodes should be processed by a foreach loop).     Hello, I'm using outlook 2007. Two days ago, we've enabled auto-archiving, maybe that't the source of our problems, but I still have to investigate. At any rate, auto completion of email addresses in the to/cc/bcc fields has become a stopper, taking up to a minute to do something. I've searched the web, but found only references to problems with McAfee which I don't have installed (http://www.groovypost.com/howto/microsoft/outlook/fix-slow-outlook-email-address-auto-complete/) Thanks Holger
