  • Wordpress, PHP, URL Encoding Issue

    Wordpress provides a function called "the_permalink()" that returns, you guessed it!, the permalink to a given post while in a loop of posts. I am trying to URL encode that permalink and when I execute this code: <?php print(the_permalink()); $permalink = the_permalink(); print($permalink); print(urlencode(the_permalink())); print(urlencode($permalink)); $url = 'http://wpmu.local/graphjam/2008/11/06/test4/'; print($url); print(urlencode($url)); ?> it produces these results in HTML: http://wpmu.local/graphjam/2008/11/06/test4/ http://wpmu.local/graphjam/2008/11/06/test4/ http://wpmu.local/graphjam/2008/11/06/test4/ http://wpmu.local/graphjam/2008/11/06/test4/ http%3A%2F%2Fwpmu.local%2Fgraphjam%2F2008%2F11%2F06%2Ftest4%2F I would expect lines 2, 3 and 5 of the output to be URL encoded, but only line 5 is so. Thoughts?

    After googling for a while I'm still drawing a blank here. I'm trying to use a ViewModel to pull and provide a dictionary to a drop down list inside a strongly typed View: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Notebook.ViewModels.CorporationJoinViewModel" %> ... <%: Html.DropDownListFor(c => c.CorpDictionary.Keys, new SelectList(Model.CorpDictionary, "Value", "Key"))%> I'm getting the error CS1061: 'object' does not contain a definition for 'CorpDictionary' and no extension method 'CorpDictionary' accepting a first argument of type 'object' could be found and the relevant bit of my ViewModel public class CorporationJoinViewModel { DB _db = new DB(); // data context public Dictionary<int, string> CorpDictionary { get { Dictionary<int, string> corporations = new Dictionary<int, string>(); int x = 0; foreach (Corporation corp in _db.Corporations) { corporations.Add(x, corp.name); } return corporations; } } I'll admit i have a pretty magical understanding of how linq is finding my ViewModel object from that lambda, and the error message is making me think it's not. Is my problem the method I'm using to pass the data? What am I missing here?

  • Using custom request and custom redirect with Contact Form 7

    I have several sites that I want to link back to the main site which hosts the contact form (using contact form 7). I would like to capture the request parameter "site-url" on incoming links to the contact form. Then when the user submits the form, I would like to redirect them back to the site specified in the site-url. Any ideas if this is possible with contact form 7? I would also like to add a special field in the contact form which would insert the site-url into the email that i get so that I know which site they were referred from.

  • Mysterious socket / HttpWebRequest timeouts

    I have a great app for capturing shoutcast streams :-) . So far, it worked with a charm on dozens of machines, and never exhibited behaviour I found now, which is ultimately very strange. I use HttpWebRequest to connect to the shoutcast server and when I connect two streams, everything's OK. When I go for third one, response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); throws with Connection Timeout exception. WTF? I must point out that I had to create .config for the application in order to allow my headers to be sent out from the application, otherwise it wouldn't work at all.   • WordPress deactivate a plugin via database?

    I have a wordpress script, wp-supercache, that I need to disable (as its cached on a nasty error), however, the error is causing the wp-admin redirect to fail, which means I can't get into the site to disable the plugin. Any advice? I can access the database via cpanel.

  • Why does Perl complain about "Unsuccessful stat on filename containing newline"?

    Hello, I am getting an error I do not understand. I am using File:Find to recurse a fylesystem on Windows using Activestate Perl 5.8.8 and trying to stat $File::Find::name; so I am not stat-ing a filename got from a text file scanning requiring chomp-ing or newline removing. I was unable to get file modification time, the mtime in: my ($dev,$ino,$mode,$nlink,$uid,$gid,$rdev,$size,$atime,$mtime,$ctime,$blksize,$blocks) = stat($File::Find::name); so trying a -s $File::Find::name gives me the error: Unsuccessful stat on filename containing newline A typical file name found is F01-01-10 Num 0-00000.pdf but I get the same error even renaming in E02.pdf

    I have this Model: class Occurrence(models.Model): id = models.AutoField(primary_key=True, null=True) reference = models.IntegerField(null=True, editable=False) def save(self): self.collection = self.id super(Occurrence, self).save() I want for the reference field to be hidden and at the same time have the same value as id. This code works if the editable=True but if i want to hide it it doesnt change the value of reference. how can i fix that?

    what Im looking to do is to have a link on the name of a field of a model. So when im filling the form using the admin interface i can access some information. I know this doesn't work but shows what i want to do class A(models.Model): item_type = models.CharField(max_length=100, choices=ITEMTYPE_CHOICES, verbose_name="<a href='http://www.quackit.com/html/codes'>Item Type</a>") Other option would be to put a description next to the field. Im not even sure where to start from.

    I have a small app I'm working on where I'm trying to use Django's built in filesizeformat. Currently, the format looks like this: {{ value|filesizeformat }} I understand I need to define this in my view.py file but, I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I've tried to use the syntax below: def filesizeformat(bytes): """ Formats the value like a 'human-readable' file size (i.e. 13 KB, 4.1 MB, 102 bytes, etc).     I'm trying to import an already existing git repository with multiple branches and tags into gerrit. I'm following the official guide at https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/Documentation/install-quick.html#_already_existing_project. However, when issuing the push command all the branches and tags, except "master" which I'm currently in, are "prohibited by Gerrit". The output is something like this: user@host:~/my-project$ git push ssh://user@localhost:29418/demo-project *:* [....] * [new branch] master -> master !     Hello, I have developed a competition page for a client, and they wish for the email the customer receives be more than simply text. The tutorial I used only provided simple text, within the 'send body message'. I am required to add html to thank the customer for entering, with introducing images to this email.   • iPhone SDK - Comparing characters in string

    Basically what I'm trying to do is compare 2 strings one from a plist and one from the user's input. I use a while loop to step through each character and compare it and if true then I increase an integer then once the loop has finished I work out the percentage correct / similarity of the plist answer and the user's answer. I seem to be having a problem however as the only return I'm getting is 0. Below is the code I'm using... The code below is all functioning and the question no longer requires answering...     I have a LINQ query that searches for multiple keywords on multiple columns. The intention is that the user can search for multiple keywords and it will search for the keywords on every property in my Media entity. Here is a simplified example: var result = repository.GetAll<Media>().Where(x => x.Title.Contains("Apples") || x.Description.Contains("Apples") || x.Tags.Contains("Apples") || x.Title.Contains("Oranges") || x.Description.Contains("Oranges") || x.Tags.Contains("Oranges") || x.Title.Contains("Pears") || x.Description.Contains("Pears") || x.Tags.Contains("Pears") ); In other words, I want to search for the keywords Apples, Oranges, and Pears on the columns Title, Description, and Tags. The outputted SQL looks like this: SELECT * FROM Media this_ WHERE (((((((( this_.Title like '%Apples%' or this_.Description like '%Apples%') or this_.Tags like '%Apples%') or this_.Title like '%Oranges%') or this_.Description like '%Oranges%') or this_.Tags like '%Oranges%') or this_.Title like '%Pears%') or this_.Description like '%Pears%') or this_.Tags like '%Pears%') Is this the most optimal SQL in this case?     I have a Tomcat Application Server that is configured to create a memory dump on OOM, and it is started with -Xmx1024M, so a Gigabyte should be available to him. Now I found one such dump and it contains only 260MB of unretained memory. How is it possible that the dump is so much smaller than the size he should have available?

    Hi. I can not make NHibernate 2.1 work in machines without framework 3.X (basically, windows 2000 SP4, although it happens with XP too). NHibernate doc do no mention this. Maybe you can help?   • Trim "Minify" inline css at runtime, expand it at edit time.

    My custom WP theme has a text block in the theme options panel that allows the user to create and maintain a custom css block that is applied to the site template at runtime. I would like to trim or "minify" this content before its stored in the database, but retain all the whitespace when its presented back to the user for editing. Would this be possible? For example, if the user has entered the following as their custom css code... .red {color:red;} .green {color:green;} .blue {color:blue;} Then I would like to store it in the database as: .red{color:red;}.green{color:green;}.blue{color:blue;} But still display it as it was input (ie, retain all the white space and line breaks) when the user is editing the content via my theme options panel.

  • Aborting jQuery().load()

    The .load() function of the jQuery library allows you to selectively load elements from another page (subject to certain rules). I would like to know whether it is possible to abort the load process. In our application, a user can browse a list of items. They may choose to click a button which loads and displays additional information about an item from another document (which can take some time). If they choose a different item in the list whilst a .load() is still happening, I would like the loading to be aborted. Is this possible? Is it even worth it? Any ideas? Dan

  • Is there a standard mapping between JSON and Protocol Buffers?

    From a comment on the announcement blog post: Regarding JSON: JSON is structured similarly to Protocol Buffers, but protocol buffer binary format is still smaller and faster to encode. JSON makes a great text encoding for protocol buffers, though -- it's trivial to write an encoder/decoder that converts arbitrary protocol messages to and from JSON, using protobuf reflection. This is a good way to communicate with AJAX apps, since making the user download a full protobuf decoder when they visit your page might be too much. It may be trivial to cook up a mapping, but is there a single "obvious" mapping between the two that any two separate dev teams would naturally settle on? If two products supported PB data and could interoperate because they shared the same .proto spec, I wonder if they would still be able to interoperate if they independently introduced a JSON reflection of the same spec. There might be some arbitrary decisions to be made, e.g. should enum values be represented by a string (to be human-readable a la typical JSON) or by their integer value? So is there an established mapping, and any open source implementations for generating JSON encoder/decoders from .proto specs?

I created this little test program struct headerIndexes { public int AccountNum{ get; set; } public int other { get; set; } public int items { get; set; } } static void Main(string[] args) { headerIndexes headers = new headerIndexes(); headers.AccountNum = 1; Console.WriteLine("Old val: {0}", headers.AccountNum); foreach (var s in headers.GetType().GetProperties()) { if (s.Name == "AccountNum") s.SetValue(headers, 99, null); } Console.WriteLine("New val: {0}", headers.AccountNum); Console.ReadKey(); } Steping thorugh the program i see it correctly does the command s.SetValue(headers, 99, null); however the value of headers.AccountNum stays at 1 when setValue is run. Am I missing a obvious step?
