    I have a JUnit test that fails because the milliseconds are different. In this case I don't care about the milliseconds. How can I change the precision of the assert to ignore milliseconds (or any precision I would like it set to)? Example of a failing assert that I would like to pass: Date dateOne = new Date(); dateOne.setTime(61202516585000L); Date dateTwo = new Date(); dateTwo.setTime(61202516585123L); assertEquals(dateOne, dateTwo);

    Say you were to create a search engine that can accept a query statement under the form of a String. The statement can be used to retrieve different types of objects with a given set of characteristics and possibly linked to other objects. In plain english or pseudo-code using an OOP approach, how would you go about parsing and processing statements as follows to get the series of desired objects ? get fruit with colour green get variety of apples, pears from Andy get strawberry with colour "deep red" and origin not Spain get total of sales of melons between 2010-10-10 and 2010-12-30 get last deliverydate of bananas from "Pete" and state not sold Hope the question is clear.   • Saving a 'Date' using DataMapper on AppEngine+JRuby

    I have a a model as follows: class Total include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :amount, Float, :default => 0.00 property :day, Date belongs_to :calendar end I am trying to select a specific Total from the data-store. class Calendar include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :name, String has n, :totals def get_total_for(date) return Total.first(:day => date, :calendar => self) end end When I call get_total_for(DateTime.now) I receive the following error on the call to the data-store. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: day: org.jruby.RubyObject is not a supported property type. Is Date not allowed for usage in AppEngine? Is this a DataMapper issue? I have tried changing the name of the :day property to something else (hoping it was just a name conflict) but it doesn't seem to matter. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I want to count the number of times b element is present (its variable) And i want this count before parsing, so that I can declare an array of appropriate size. One way is to run count then separately and other way is dynamic array (List Array) Is there any other better way to do this? Also, Is it possible to make an ArrayList of my class..? because I want an array of type myClass.

    I fount this answer, but wanted to expand on the question and couldn't find any solutions here on stack or through searching google. Substring domainname from URL SQL Basically the link above solves my problem with a simple URL like parsing "www.google.com" with the result of google. What I am looking for to expand on that is the solution from the link above doesn't help with url's like 'www.maps.google.com' that just returns maps. WHat I would like is to have it return 'google' from the url 'www.maps.google.com' or return 'example' from 'www.test.example.com'. If anyone has a solution to this, I would greatly appreciate it. Update: To be more specific I will also need parsing on second level domains etc. 'www.maps.google.com.au' to return 'google' Here is my Sql function.   • Should I use DATE and TIME as fields rather than DATETIME

    I have a project on going for a TV guide, called mytvguide in the database - I use PHPMyAdmin. This is the structure for one table, which is called tvshow1: Field Type channel varchar(255) date date No airdate time No expiration time No episode varchar(255) setreminder varchar(255) but am not sure how to get DATE, TIME to work with the pagination script (below is the script, which works for the version with DATETIME): http://pastebin.com/6S1ejAFJ However, although the DATETIME one works - it shows programmes that air on the day itself like this: Programme 1 showing on Channel 1 2:35pm "Episode 2" Set Reminder Programme 1 showing on Channel 1 May 26th - 12:50pm "Episode 3" Set Reminder Programme 1 showing on Channel 1 May 26th - 5:55pm "Episode 3" Set Reminder but I'm not quite sure how to replicate that for the fields that use DATE, TIME functions as seen above. Any advice on this is appreciated, thanks!

    I am going nuts over wordpress and artisteer. I am trying something that used to be pretty straightforward - turning on and off the display of date and post category for my posts on my blog page. I find this in content.php global $post; theme_post_wrapper( array( 'id' => theme_get_post_id(), 'class' => theme_get_post_class(), 'title' => theme_get_meta_option($post->ID, 'theme_show_page_title') ? get_the_title() : '', 'heading' => theme_get_option('theme_single_article_title_tag'), 'before' => theme_get_metadata_icons('date', 'header'), 'content' => theme_get_content() ) ); And the instruction says that all you got to do is insert or remove 'date' in the 'before' line. I've done it back and forth with my content files and nothing changes on the output. I can't find the actual code that prints it all, wordpress used to be so simple before everything was dug down 10 levels deep and you now have to look through millions of different functions to find the simplest things... As you can probably tell, I usually don't work with WP =) But this is on my table now and I haven't stayed up to date with WP for a couple of years... Any input as to where I can find the variables is appreciated... I had expected to at some point find 'posted at '.echo($date).' in category '.echo($category) or something at least remotely similar...

  • CDateTimeCtrl - preventing 'focus' change when setting date

    I'd like to use a CDateTimeCtrl to allow the user to select a non-weekend date. So, if the user increments the day (via a keypress) - and the resulting day is found to fall on a weekend - then the control should skip forward to the following Monday (don't let issues about month changes distract you, it's not relevant). Usually it's not a problem: when I handle the DTN_DATETIMECHANGE notification I can check the new date/time and if it's found to be a weekend then I can call SetTime on the control to update the date. However, if I set the style to DTS_SHOWNONE, this call to SetTime causes the control to shift the input 'focus' (term used loosely) to the 'none' checkbox, e.g. away from the day field. This prevents the user from using keyboard input to continue incrementing the date unless they subsequently use the right arrow key to reset the 'focus', which is just nasty. I would dearly like to prevent this focus shift from occurring. Is it even possible?

    Hi, I have a moodle installation in which there is a column in mdl_user table called firstaccess whose type is bigint(10) and contains date in following format 1266839570. I am writing a query for accessing users according to date filters. For e.g. i want to check which users firstaccess is greater than '2010-04-12'. How can i convert the date? These two date formats are different. I think firstaccess is unix timestamp. Should i change the '2010-04-12' into unix timestamp or there is a way to convert firstaccess i.e 1266839570 to yyyy-mm-dd format. Please help me on this. Thanks

  • php date() stuck

    I am getting the date from my mysql database and that date is correct but when I use the date() function the minute part is stuck a 6 minutes. My mysql is returning 2010-06-15 09:59:18 Then in php I use this code: date('M d,Y H:m A',strtotime($row[4])) ** $row[4] is from my while loop ** When I echo this out I get: Jun 15,2010 9:06 AM I also have tried converting it to unix timestamp in my sql query, does the same thing. I noticed that the hours work and the seconds work but the minutes are stuck at 6. Does anyone have any ideas on what is going on?
