  I have a Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS that I am running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (10/10/09) vpn - build 13064 on it and for the life of me I can not find a way to assign ip's based on Mac address. Basically I have a few laptops and Windows really has no decent way to have separate profiles for each network.

• D-LINK DIR-615 router keeps giving my wireless devices bad ip addresses

  I have a D-LINK DIR-615 router, and wired devices have no problem getting an IP, however; wireless devices end up with a 169.254.. address (subsequently, they cannot access the internet through the router). I have removed all wired connections from the router, so there is no other dhcp server running. I've also gone back to the store, and replaced it with another, thinking that maybe it was defective. According to the router, it gave 192.168.0.101 to the wireless device. According to the wireless device it got 169.254.67.71. I've tried both a laptop and an iPod Touch, both exhibit the same behaviour. Has anyone seen this type of behaviour, or have any ideas of stuff to try?   I want to setup postfix so that email lacking a specific email header are rejected. Is it possible to use header_check to reject emails that do not include a specific header field entry. The solution that I believe may work is the following: /^x-tituslabs-classifications-30: (<>)?$/ REJECT Classification field required I want to make sure that any email going through postfix contains a x-tituslabs-classifications-30 entry.

• Varnish VCL not allowing two separate IP addresses as backends

  Every time I attempt to add an extra back end into our VCL file, it's fails. Here is the DAEMON_OPTS we are running off: DAEMON_OPTS="-a :80 \ -T localhost:6082 \ -f /etc/varnish/custom.vcl \ -u varnish -g varnish \ -S /etc/varnish/secret \ -s malloc,10G" And here is the offending backend(s) backend default { .host = "114.123.456.789"; .port = "8080"; } backend alt { .host = "203.123.456.789"; .port = "80"; } Any Ideas ? Gut feeling is it might need the backends to be set somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

• Mac OS X 10.6.5 and link-local addresses (169.254.x.x)

  Starting with the latest update of Mac OS X (10.6.5) all Apple applications (Safari, Mail, iChat, etc.) don't connect to the internet anymore, if the assigned IP address is from the 169.254.0.0./16 range. This is not a routing problem, I can still ping any server I want, even connecting via command line tools works. I know this problem could easily be fixed by changing the IP address to a more common RFC1918 address (e.g. 192.168.0.0./16), but this is what the ISP assigns via DHCP and I am not sure I can convince them (Xplornet) to change that. So I am wondering if there's a (hidden?) setting that would convince Apple applications, that they are in fact still online.

  On Unix systems, the scheduled task service will email any output that a scheduled task produces. If no output is produced, no email is sent. How can I do the same thing on Windows Server 2003 or 2008? Is there a way to call a batch file or executable that will run my task, capture the output, and email it only if there is output? If you propose a PowerShell solution, please note that I only have PowerShell 1.0.

• CentOS 5 - Unable to resolve addresses for NFS mounts during boot

  I have a few servers running CentOS 5.3, and am trying to get 2 NFS mount-points to mount automatically on boot. I added 2 lines similar to the following to fstab: server1:/path1 /path1 nfs soft 0 0 server2:/path2 /path2 nfs soft 0 0 When I run 'mount -a' manually, the mount points are properly mounted as expected. However, when I reboot the machine, only /path2 is mounted. For /path1 I get the following error: mount: can't get address for server1 It obviously looks like a DNS issue, but the record is properly configured in all the DNS servers and is mounted properly if I re-try the mount after the reboot is completed. I could properly fix this by using IP address instead of hostnames in /etc/fstab or adding server1 to /etc/hosts but I would rather not do that. What might be the reason for failing to resolve this specific address during boot time? Why the problem is only with the 1st mount point and the 2nd is properly mounted despite having identical configuration?

  Hello All, I am struggling to find anything on the interweb, We have a client and the email address we have been given for one of their employees contains 2 apostrophes. One of our team is struggling to send an email to said employee. The client says the email is valid, but the postmaster reply tells me otherwise. could not be delivered. The problem appears to be : -- Recipient email address is possibly incorrect Additional information follows : -- 550 5.1.1 <xx.xx'xxx'[email protected]>... User Unknown Could anyone shed any light; is this a problem with the user being unknown or is the 2 apostrophes causing an issue. EDIT: Is there any way to encode an apostrophe? Cheers

For instance, in below, line #2 has two IPs: 10.1.6.5 and 10.1.4.5 Also on line #4, there are two timestamps after 216.182.236.96: 0.653 ms and 0.637 ms What are these? • IPv6 Addresses causing Exchange Relay whitelists to fail

  Several of our new Exchange servers are failing to relay messages because it is communicating over IPv6 and not matching any receive connector I previously set up. I'm not sure how we are using IP6 since we only have a IPv4 network and we are routing across subnets. I discovered this by typing helo in from the source to the server that is confused by my IP6 address. I saw the IPv6 message and the custom message I gave this receive connector. • Using mozilla firefox with utf-8 addresses (in greek) on mac

  Very often when I use firefox (any version from 10+) and I type my utf-8 seo url it behaves strangely. For example it randomly cuts the url and adds the url again at whole like this: http://www.mysite.com/????G????S/???? would make it as http://www.mysite.com/????G???http://www.mysite.com/????G????S/???? resulting in converting the url to urlencoded letters and 404 errors. I am using Lion with the latest firefox (yes I have uninstalled it once and reinstalled it).

• Cannot send email to info@ or support@

  I am trying to send email from my gmail account to a couple user accounts I have on my new Centos server. The email is setup correctly and I can send receive from accounts ok except info and support. I tried to setup two users "info" and "support" I have a php form that sends out email that works fine for all users except info and support. To test this and make sure that something did not change from yesterday i just created a new user "frank" and tried the submit form and it worked fine. From my gmail account i can email "frank" however i cannot email "info" or "support" The logs I pulled are as follows and i think i see the issue but no idea how to fix it.   A client recently switched to Exchange Server / Outlook for their email. Since then emails from my company to any email address at their company bounce back from the System Administrator with this error: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: Email Solution Sent: 12/12/2012 11:08 AM The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: '[email protected]' on 12/12/2012 11:08 AM 550 5.1.1 <[email protected]> recipient rejected Looking in the Message Options of the bounce back email shows no data in the Internet Header field. My client's IT guy says we're not being blocked, but I cant think of any other reason the bounce would occur. Any suggestions on what questions to ask or how to fix this would be helpful. I'm using a desktop version of Outlook 2007 and connecting through my ISP. Thanks.

• Different external ip addresses from different sites

  My router is ClearOS 6(Centos 6). In my router, I have two external (internet) network connections from two ISP's. The primary connection is eth2 connected to a cable modem and the second one is ppp0 connected to a dsl modem. I have assigned eth2 as the primary connection (with a high metric value). In fact this is done through clearos's multiwan web interface. I have a test in my Nagios to monitor whether the primary connection. This connection is done based on the result of curl ifconfig.me But it seems that ifconfig.me is always giving the ip address of my secondary connection. I tested it through a browser. Yes ifconfig.me gives the secondary internet's(ppp0) ip address. But whatismyipaddress.[com|org] give my primary ip address (eth2). I checked the default route on the router through ip route list 0/0 which also shows the primary connection (eth2) as the default route. The traceroute www.google.com and traceroute ifconfig.me both seems to trace through the primary connection (eth2). As our secondary internet connection has only got a limited download, I don't want to end up having to pay a large sum at the end of the month. Has somebody got an idea why the ifconfig.me shows my secondary address? What is the best way to ensure that my router(and thus the lan) use the right internet connection.

  Initially my domain , mycompany.com points to this IP: - 123.456.789.101 (sample only) Then i got another VPS and then decided to move the mycompany.com into this new IP/Host: - 987-654-123.123 (sample only) I changed the necessary stuff like DNS, etc. from my domain management panel. But when i ping it : ping mycompany.com , sometimes it gives the first IP, sometimes the second one. Also when i visit the url from the browser, sometimes it loads, sometimes it doesn't.   I opened a few ports to the outside of my home network so I can get into a few of my machines from outside. When checking some logs, I noticed that I was getting scanned on some ports from various other countries. I already moved my port forward to a non-standard port. I would like to be able to block specific IP's (or even subnets) from my Verizon FIOS router. There is a little bit of documentation online, but I can't find anything specific on how to do this. To start, I just want to block a specific IP. But if it is not to hard, I would also like to know how to possibly block a range of IPs. And with the inverse of this - is there a way to allow only certain IPs or range?

Except http_access allow all, I've made no changes to the default squid.conf configuration. When I turn offline_mode ON and disconnect from the Internet, and then I visit sites, I encounter The following error was encountered: Unable to determine IP address from host name for whatever.sitename.com The dnsserver returned: Timeout on any site I visit.   Salvete! I have two servers, one hosts my email server (hMailServer on windows server 2003) and the other hosts active directory (on windows server 2008). I don't have Microsoft Exchange. In Active directory, there are user groups that have email addresses. How can I send an email to a user group? Somewhere I need to be able to connect my mail server to active directory. Maybe AD has a mail pickup folder? I can't find the information that I need. Here is a similar link, but it didn't help me. Send As Distribution Group Email Address? (I think a tag for hMailServer would be a good idea.) Thanks for y'all's help.
