    I apologise first if this is a stupid problem. I'm new to Cisco networking. I need some help with an existing configuration done by my vendor. Environment: 1. Core switch - Catalyst 6509e vlans configured: a. vlan 50 (wired clients) 10.0.50.x/24 interface IP 10.0.50.20 b. vlan 70 (wireless clients) 10.0.70.x/24 interface IP 10.0.70.20 c. vlan 192 (guest clients) 192.168.1.x/24 interface IP 192.168.1.20 d. trunk port for WLC native vlan 70 allowed vlan 50, 70, 192 2. Cisco 4402 WLC interfaces a. management untagged IP 10.0.70.10 b. ap-manager untagged IP 10.0.70.11 c. service-port n/a IP 192.168.10.1 d. virtual n/a IP 1.1.1.1 e. guestwlan vlan192 IP 192.168.1.100 3. Cisco AIR-LAP1142N-S-K9 LAP01 (WLAN local, interface: management) IP 10.0.70.21/24 GW 10.0.70.20 DHCP server 10.0.50.10 (scope 10.0.70.101 to 200) LAP02 (WLAN guest, interface: guestwlan) IP 192.168.1.21/24 GW 192.168.1.20 DHCP server 192.168.1.10 (scope 192.168.1.101 to 200) here's the problem, wireless clients connected to WLAN guest keep getting DHCP leases from WLAN local 10.0.50.10 (scope 10.0.70.101 to 200) can anyone please help? thanks!

  • Amazon EC2 - Reserved Private Addresses

    I've got a private DNS Server running on Amazon EC2. I don't need a public IP Address because its only used for private addressing web1.xxx.internal database1.xxx.internal Problem is I had to terminate the instance recently and start a new one. This meant that the private IP address of the DNS server changed and I had to log in to each of my other 15 server one-by-one and change the DNS address to point to the new DNS server. There must be a better way to do this, if so, what is it?

  • Friendly Intranet Addresses

    Relativly new to IIS. I'm attempting to set up multiple sites in my Intranet on one server. The server already has SharePoint Installed on it and has a binding *:80. So when I type //ServerName I get the home page of SharePoint. I get how that works. I set up a new site in IIS and set the Binding to *:30015. On a remote machine if I type //ServerName:30015 in a web browser, I get the new site. Awesome, working as intended. My Questions: Can/How do i set it up so that I can type //DivisionAppName or //Division.AppName and have it resolve itself to //ServerName:30015? Is this something I have to register with my Company's DNS server? I hope not, getting my corprate IT to assist is a nightmare. What I tried: I have added Bindings with the Host Name filled in with both DivisionAppName or Division.AppName and port 30015 but that doesn't seem to work.

  • How to block access to addresses outside network (internet)

    I have a homeserver, that is now connected to the internet with an own network device (ath0 - 192.168.1.x). It also has one more network interface (eth0 - 192.168.0.x). Soon I will get a second internet line that will be connected the second network. The server then has both networks with different internet lines available, but i only want it to connect to the internet on the old ath0 interface - not the new eth0 (192.168.0.x). Background of that constellation is that the new line has a volume-limit in traffic - the old hasn't and i need the new line for all mobile devices and laptops. The devices should be able to use the new network to connect to the internet and the server. The homeserver is a debian 6 with iptables and some already written rules for it. I need now a rule to block all outgoing internet access on the eth0 interface - i guess it could be something with --target != 192.168.0.0 but i did not succeed in finding the proper solution. Edit: found the solution: iptables -A OUTPUT -o eth0 -d 192.168.0.0/24 -m state --state NEW,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT With that setting, all traffic that uses the eth0 interface is only allowed if the destination is inside the network 192.168.0.x - all other traffic is denied .

  • Colliding network addresses

    A customer is using the same address space as the company network. I need to connect with Cisco VPN Client to the network of the customer, without affecting local connectivity. To keep all working, I connect from a VM to avoid network addressing collisions. This works, but I'm looking for a way to get rid of the VM. Is it possible to connect with Cisco VPN Client 4.8 from Windows 7, without changing the 'normal' routing? How to tell specific applications (most importantly: Putty, VNC, mstsc, psql) to resolve their routes to the VPN instead of the default network interface? Have been hearing about SOCKS-proxies, is that something that could be made to work? I fear that this is a a bit of a crude question, but I'd be happy to specify more details/context.

    I have a site which is a large database of people that have different knowledge in different domains, such as teaching (maths, french, science etc...) On the site there is a page where you can search people base on different request, such as distance from home, grade, sex. Now, I would like to add a page where people that are looking for mentor will fill a request, and when a tutor in his area of search will match request, a email will be send to this researcher. Because I know for sure, that when in January you look for a math teacher for your 10 year old son, and you find none, you won't go again in February, March... and on and on just to see. Maybe there is one now, you want to be informed when the tutor will get into database automatically (more or less like www.jobboom.com) So the question is, what CMS do I need to be able to do that ? Wordpress, drupal or something custom made?

  • how to start sendmail - WP email turned off

    I have a WP site on a linux box. Our email was working fine in Wordpress but recently it stopped, I think because of a restart. All I could think of was to restart sendmail. I couldn't find sendmail in the normal directory (/etc/init.d/sendmail restart) but that didn't exist. I found another directory for sendmail in the sbin but every time I try running it it doesn't respond and I have to exit. This is all what I tried. Any ideas?     If I see an email returned due to a hard bounce, after how many days is it acceptable to resend to that email address. It is possible for emails to be reactivated or for temporary outages, so it doesn't make sense to keep an email in my hard bounce email list forever. I've already seen cases where I receive emails from addresses that were put in my hard bounce email list months ago. Any recommendations? Are there specific recommendations from ISPs?

    I am using my gmail's email account to send emails in asp.net website. It works fine on hosting server but it donot works if I try to sent email on loclserver. Please guide me what I should do to make it sending emails even on localserver ? Do I need to install some smtp server on my local machine ? I have not installed any smtp server on my machine. The whole site is written in .net. None of the site is database driven so most of it works, except for the contact form. The output on the site simple states there was an error with "There has been an error - please try to submit the contact form again, if you continue to experience problems, please notify our webmaster."
