• Get compiler generated delegate for an event

  I need to know what handlers are subsribed to the CollectionChanged event of the ObservableCollection class. The only solution I found would be to use Delegate.GetInvocationList() on the delegate of the event. The problem is, I can't get Reflection to find the compiler generated delegate. AFAIK the delegate has the same name as the event. I used the following piece of code: PropertyInfo notifyCollectionChangedDelegate = collection.GetType().GetProperty("CollectionChanged", BindingFlags.Instance | BindingFlags.Static | BindingFlags.NonPublic | BindingFlags.FlattenHierarchy);

  ...before the pagination chunks have been determined. I know you can do this in multiple statements, but there must be a better way. my results are returned ordered by date and I want to return the pagination chunk that contains a given id. So I could, for example, select the date of the given id and then select a chunk of results where date is less than or greater than the date. That would work. But is there some native mysql method of doing this sort of thing in one statement? It just seems reasonable to expect that we could ask for X results in which a given id exists if results are ordered by date.

  I'm trying my hand at jQuery Address http://www.asual.com/jquery/address/ On a click event I set $.address.value(mypath); This fires off the $.address.change() event. When I click a link I want the behavior to be slightly different than when this event is fired by clicking the back/forward button or with a bookmark or link. Is there a way to distinguish between the two events. I've looked at the event object passed to $.address.change() and they seem to be identical in both situations.

  Hello, I have the following Groovy+SwingBuilder code. In one panel I generate checkboxes and in another panel I want to access the values of the checkboxes. • Accessing the feed/entry/id field of an ATOM 1.0 feed with the ROME library

  Hi, I feel a bit stupid asking this question, but I don't know how I can access the ID field of an entry when using ROME to parse an Atom feed. ROME provides it's own meta level of feeds/items, i.e. SyndFeed and SyndEntry. Being an abstraction over RSS and ATOM they only contain elements both formats support. Thus, there is no method to get an ID of an entry. There also exist low level packages for the distinct formats, and the Atom package contains com.sun.syndication.feed.atom.Entry, which provides getId(). However, I don't know how can I convert my SyndEntry into an Entry. I have not found a way to convert it. The (outdated) tutorials show a conversion, but that's only for output though. So how can I easily access the ID field? Thanks in advance.

• Having trouble with event creation using the events.create API with the iPhone SDK

  I'm using the FBConnect library in my iPhone app, and I'm trying to create Facebook events. After getting a valid session and verifying permissions, I'm using events.create and getting what looks like a valid event ID back from FB in a success response. Oddly the event isn't showing up on my account's Events page either in current or in past events. I thought the problem might be that the event might not include me as an attendee so I followed the successful events.create call with an events.rsvp call to set my status to "attending". That also gets back success from FB, but I'm still not seeing anything show up. Am I missing a step? Is there something other than Create and then RSVP that I need to do, or is there an error with the api/Facebook? I don't think I'm missing any of the required fields for event creation (name and start_time) and I am populating a lot of the other fields in event_info...

It make a call to a API function called set_relay, then the code has to wait before continuing until the event for set_relay event has completed. The set_relay is any Async call. i.e. void run_processes() { switch() { case EV_RELAY_SET: break; } } void config_relays() { set_relay(); /* Wait until EV_RELAY_SET has fired */ /* Cannot do init_relay until set_relay event has fired - has to block here */ init_relay(); } I guess I could put the init_relay() in the switch. However, that event is used for other things and not just for initializing the relay. I would really like to handle everything in the config_relays function. In C# you can do this by using autoreset.   I'm following the Kevin Skoglund tutorial Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training, which was written for rails 3.0, though I am currently using 3.2. It uses the following method in the pages_controller with a before_filter to display only the pages which belong to the parent subject. The tutorial explicitly uses .find_by_id because if the result is nil it "will not return an error". However I get the "Called id for nil, which would mistakenly be 4 -- if you really wanted the id of nil, use object_id" error when trying to view a page where @subject has been set to nil. def find_subject if params[:subject_id] @subject = Subject.find_by_id(params[:subject_id]) end end The actual code that is causing the error is: def list @pages = Page.order("pages.position ASC").where(:subject_id => @subject.id) end Is this something that has changed since 3.0? • Clustered index dilemma - ID or sort?

  I have a table with two very important fields: id INT identity(1,1) PRIMARY KEY identifiersortcode VARCHAR(900) My app always sorts and pages search results in the UI based on identifiersortcode, but all table joins (and they are legion) are on the id field. (Aside: yes, the sort code really is that long. There's a strong BL reason.) Also, due to O/RM use, most SELECT statements are going to pull almost every column. Currently, the clustered index is on id, but I'm wondering if the TOP / ORDER BY portion of most queries would make identifiersortcode a more attractive option as the clustered key, even considering all of the table joins going on. Inserts on the table and changes to the identifiersortcode are limited enough that changing my clustered index would be a problem for insert/update operations. Trying to make the sort code's non-clustered index a covering index (using INCLUDE) is not a good option. There are a number of large columns, and some of them have a lot of update activity.
