  • Helping install mrcwa and solve problems with f2py in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

    - by user288160
I am sorry if this is the wrong section but I am starting to get desperate, please someone help me... I need to install the program mrcwa-20080820 (sourceforge.net/projects/mrcwa/) because a summer project that I am involved. I need to use it together with anaconda (store.continuum.io/cshop/anaconda/), I already installed Anaconda and apparently it is working. When I type: conda --version I got the expected answer. conda 3.5.2 If I tried to import numpy or scipy with python or simple type f2py there are no errors. So far so good. But when I tried to install this program sudo python setup.py install I got these errors: running install running build sh: 1: f2py: not found cp: cannot stat ‘mrcwaf.so’: No such file or directory running build_py running install_lib running install_egg_info Removing /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/mrcwa-20080820.egg-info Writing /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/mrcwa-20080820.egg-info Obs: I am trying to use intel fortran 64-bits and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. So I was checking f2py and tried to execute the program hello world f2py -c -m hello hello.f from here: cens.ioc.ee/projects/f2py2e/index.html#usage and I had some problems too: running build running config_cc unifing config_cc, config, build_clib, build_ext, build commands --compiler options running config_fc unifing config_fc, config, build_clib, build_ext, build commands --fcompiler options running build_src build_src building extension "hello" sources f2py options: [] f2py:> /tmp/tmpf8P4Y3/src.linux-x86_64-2.7/hellomodule.c creating /tmp/tmpf8P4Y3/src.linux-x86_64-2.7 Reading fortran codes... • build error with boost spirit grammar (boost 1.43 and g++ 4.4.1) part II

    - by lurscher
    I'm having issues getting a small spirit/qi grammar to compile. i am using boost 1.43 and g++ 4.4.1. the input grammar header: inputGrammar.h #include <boost/config/warning_disable.hpp> #include <boost/spirit/include/qi.hpp> #include <boost/spirit/include/phoenix_core.hpp> #include <boost/spirit/include/phoenix_operator.hpp> #include <boost/spirit/include/phoenix_fusion.hpp> #include block; qi::rule< Iterator , ExpressionAST() , space_type > function_def; qi::rule< Iterator , ExpressionAST() , space_type > command; qi::rule< Iterator , ExpressionAST() , space_type > instruction;   • working on lists in python

    - by owca
I'm trying to make a small modification to django lfs project, that will allow me to deactivate products with no stocks. Unfortunatelly I'm just beginning to learn python, so I have big trouble with its syntax. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm using method 'has_variants' which returns true if product has any. Then I'm building a list from variants for this product. Next for every product in this list (I've called it 'set') I check it's stock and set bool variable 'inactive' to true if product has no stocks and to false if there are any. Finally if 'inactive' is false I'm setting self.active to 0. Code fails in line with: set[] = s How to correct it ? def deactivate(self): """If there are no stocks, deactivate the product. Used in last step of checkout. """ if self.has_variants(): for s in self.variants.filter(active=True): set[] = s for var in set: if var.get_stock_amount() == 0: inactive = True else: inactive = False else: if self.get_stock_amount() == 0: inactive = True if inactive: self.active = False return 0 error log : Traceback (most recent call last): File "manage.py", line 11, in <module> execute_manager(settings) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/__i nit__.py", line 362, in execute_manager utility.execute() File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/__i nit__.py", line 303, in execute self.fetch_command(subcommand).run_from_argv(self.argv) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/bas e.py", line 195, in run_from_argv self.execute(*args, **options.__dict__) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/core/management/bas e.py", line 213, in execute translation.activate('en-us') File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/_ _init__.py", line 73, in activate return real_activate(language) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/_ _init__.py", line 43, in delayed_loader return g['real_%s' % caller](*args, **kwargs) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/t rans_real.py", line 205, in activate _active[currentThread()] = translation(language) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/t rans_real.py", line 194, in translation default_translation = _fetch(settings.LANGUAGE_CODE) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/translation/t rans_real.py", line 180, in _fetch app = import_module(appname) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/site-packages/django/utils/importlib.py" , line 35, in import_module __import__(name) File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/caching/__init__.py", line 1, in <mo dule> from listeners import * File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/caching/listeners.py", line 10, in < module> from lfs.cart.models import Cart File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/cart/models.py", line 8, in <module> from lfs.catalog.models import Product File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/catalog/__init__.py", line 1, in <mo dule> from listeners import * File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/catalog/listeners.py", line 5, in <m odule> from lfs.catalog.models import PropertyGroup File "/home/purplecow/rails/purpledev/lfs/catalog/models.py", line 589 set[] = s ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax

  • node.js callback getting unexpected value for variable

    - by defrex
I have a for loop, and inside it a variable is assigned with var. Also inside the loop a method is called which requires a callback. Inside the callback function I'm using the variable from the loop. I would expect that it's value, inside the callback function, would be the same as it was outside the callback during that iteration of the loop. However, it always seems to be the value from the last iteration of the loop. Am I misunderstanding scope in JavaScript, or is there something else wrong? The program in question here is a node.js app that will monitor a working directory for changes and restart the server when it finds one. I'll include all of the code for the curious, but the important bit is the parse_file_list function. var posix = require('posix'); var sys = require('sys'); var server; var child_js_file = process.ARGV[2]; var current_dir = __filename.split('/'); current_dir = current_dir.slice(0, current_dir.length-1).join('/'); var start_server = function(){ server = process.createChildProcess('node', [child_js_file]); server.addListener("output", function(data){sys.puts(data);}); }; var restart_server = function(){ sys.puts('change discovered, restarting server'); server.close(); start_server(); }; var parse_file_list = function(dir, files){ for (var i=0;i<files.length;i++){ var file = dir+'/'+files[i]; sys.puts('file assigned: '+file); posix.stat(file).addCallback(function(stats){ sys.puts('stats returned: '+file); if (stats.isDirectory()) posix.readdir(file).addCallback(function(files){ parse_file_list(file, files); }); else if (stats.isFile()) process.watchFile(file, restart_server); }); } }; posix.readdir(current_dir).addCallback(function(files){ parse_file_list(current_dir, files); }); start_server(); The output from this is: file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/ejs.js file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/templates file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/web file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/server.js file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/settings.js file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/apps file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/dev_server.js file assigned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js stats returned: /home/defrex/code/node/main_urls.js For those from the future: node.devserver.js

  • cannot move to a subdirectory of itself

    - by fire
I have 2 folders: /home/sphinx/articlesdb/ and: /home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/ I want to move and overwrite all of the files from tmp into the main folder. I am currently using: mv -f /home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/ /home/sphinx/ But I get this error: mv: cannot move `/home/sphinx/tmp/articlesdb/' to a subdirectory of itself, `/home/sphinx/articlesdb' It needs to do this as fast as possible so I don't want to copy. Should I remove /home/sphinx/articlesdb/ completely and then run the mv command or do I just need to tweak the command slightly?

  • what firefall linux distro applicance could track internet usage per device in my home?

    - by GregH
Hello, Anyone know of a community edition/open source/free firewall/gateway software product that I could install onto an old PC to act as my firewall/gateway/proxy etc, BUT for which it has the power to track internet usage per device in my home. So: a) Mandatory - Track internet usage for devices on my home network on a per device basis (e.g. various PCs/Xbox etc) b) Mandatory - Report/graph would would give a breakdown of internet usage, per device (e.g. IP address), per day. c) Desirable - as in b) above but per hour d) Desirable - realtime graph (e.g. 5 minute measurement intervals or something) that shows current internet usage per device e) Mandatory - Handles all internal<=internet requests for all protocols (e.g. HTTP, HTTPS, xbox etc) f) Mandatory - No explicit settings in clients required - i.e. Transparent Monitoring concept (for both HTTP and non-HTTP traffic like xbox, skype etc) g) Mandatory - easy "appliance" like installation onto a dedicated low spec PC thanks in advance

  • How to use a retail Windows 7 Professional license key to upgrade an installed Windows 7 Home Premium machine

    - by jalperin
I purchased a retail version of Windows 7 Professional and installed it on a computer. That machine has died, and I replaced it with a new computer which came with Windows 7 Home Premium already installed. I'd like to have Professional, not Home Premium, on the new machine, and I don't want to pay for an "Anytime Upgrade" because I already have a valid Windows 7 Professional license (for the dead computer). Is there a way to legally upgrade using my Professional license key? I've already installed programs, data, etc on the new machine, so I don't want to reformat and start from scratch.

  • In Windows 7 Home Premium, is it possible to grant a user account the "log on as a service" right and if so, how?

    - by Ryan Johnson
The title says it all. I need to have the ability for a local user account to log on as a service on a computer running Windows 7 Home Premium. In Windows 7 Ultimate, this is accomplished by going to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Local Security Policy and adding the user to the "Log on as a service" policy. In Home Premium, there is no Local Security Policy in the Control Panel. Is there another way to add the use to that policy (i.e. registry setting) or is my only recourse to upgrade the computer to Windows 7 Professional? Thanks in Advance, Ryan

  • Active directory authentication for Ubuntu Linux login and cifs mounting home directories...

    - by Jamie
I've configured my Ubuntu 10.04 Server LTS Beta 2 residing on a windows network to authenticate logins using active directory, then mount a windows share to serve as there home directory. Here is what I did starting from the initial installation of Ubuntu. Download and install Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS Beta 2 Get updates # sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade Install an SSH server (sshd) # sudo apt-get install openssh-server Some would argue that you should "lock sshd down" by disabling root logins. I figure if your smart enough to hack an ssh session for a root password, you're probably not going to be thwarted by the addition of PermitRootLogin no in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file. If your paranoid or not simply not convinced then edit the file or give the following a spin: # (grep PermitRootLogin /etc/ssh/sshd_conifg && sudo sed -ri 's/PermitRootLogin ).+/\1no/' /etc/ssh/sshd_conifg) || echo "PermitRootLogin not found. Add it manually." Install required packages # sudo apt-get install winbind samba smbfs smbclient ntp krb5-user Do some basic networking housecleaning in preparation for the specific package configurations to come. Determine your windows domain name, DNS server name, and IP address for the active directory server (for samba). For conveniance I set environment variables for the windows domain and DNS server. For me it was (my AD IP address was 192.168.20.11): # WINDOMAIN=mydomain.local && WINDNS=srv1.$WINDOMAIN If you want to figure out what your domain and DNS server is (I was contractor and didn't know the network) check out this helpful reference. The authentication and file sharing processes for the Windows and Linux boxes need to have their clocks agree. Do this with an NTP service, and on the server version of Ubuntu the NTP service comes installed and preconfigured. The network I was joining had the DNS server serving up the NTP service too. # sudo sed -ri "s/^(server[ \t]).+/\1$WINDNS/" /etc/ntp.conf Restart the NTP daemon # sudo /etc/init.d/ntp restart We need to christen the Linux box on the new network, this is done by editing the host file (replace the DNS of with the FQDN of the windows DNS): # sudo sed -ri "s/^(127\.0\.0\.1[ \t]).*/\1$(hostname).$WINDOMAIN localhost $(hostname)/" /etc/hosts Kerberos configuration. The instructions that follow here aren't to be taken literally: the values for MYDOMAIN.LOCAL and srv1.mydomain.local need to be replaced with what's appropriate for your network when you edit the files. Edit the (previously installed above) /etc/krb5.conf file. Find the [libdefaults] section and change (or add) the key value pair (and it is in UPPERCASE WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE): [libdefaults] default_realm = MYDOMAIN.LOCAL Add the following to the [realms] section of the file: MYDOMAIN.LOCAL = { kdc = srv1.mydomain.local admin_server = srv1.mydomain.local default_domain = MYDOMAIN.LOCAL } Add the following to the [domain_realm] section of the file: .mydomain.local = MYDOMAIN.LOCAL mydomain.local = MYDOMAIN.LOCAL Conmfigure samba. When it's all said done, I don't know where SAMBA fits in ... I used cifs to mount the windows shares ... regardless, my system works and this is how I did it. Later I'll come back and add how I got the cifs automounting to work. Numerous resources were considered so I could figure this out. • Msys cd .. command takes me to home directory instead of parent

    - by Adrian
I'm using Msys on Windows 7 with what I believe to be a Bash shell. I want to navigate the following directory structure: Drive (M:) +--- Coding +--- CPP +--- projects +--- other_folder_1 +--- other_folder_2 My fstab file contains the following line: M:/Coding/CPP/projects/ /home/Adrian/ ... which makes the projects folder my starting directory when opening the shell. Unfortunately when I try to cd .. out of projects, I end up in /home instead of CPP. I imagine this might be related to what I did in the fstab file. Is there any way for me to retain the projects folder as my starting directory while being able to cd into its parent directories?

  • Does Windows Virtual PC support virtual applications with an XP Home Edition guest?

    - by endolith
I've installed Windows Virtual PC in Windows 7 and have the XP Mode virtual PC working. I can run virtual applications with it and the integration features all work. I used Disk2VHD to convert my existing XP Home drive into a VHD, so I can use it as a virtual PC, too. It works in general, but it sometimes pops up the "Could not enable integration features" error. I don't see the host computer's drives in the guest, and I don't see the guest's applications in the host's Start menu. Is this just because the guest is XP Home instead of XP Pro? Do I have to reinstall all these apps in the XP Mode VHD in order to get them as virtual apps? Could something else be preventing it from working?

  • OSX Reset Home Permissions and ACLs - how long should it take?

    - by andyface
Having screwwed up my permissions by trying to have two users accessing one home folder I'm now going through the process of reseting my main user home permissions via the OSX install disk utilities, which seems to be taking a while. Does this process take a while to do, though I assume it depends on how many files I have in the folder, which in my case is a good few 100 GBs. At what point should I be concerned that it may have got stuck and thus reset my computer and try again? I assume, though not sure that if the little circle indicator is still moving then it's not completely frozen, but as there's no progress bar or details I'm not sure how true that is.

  • Would it be smarter to setup a Linux development server at home, or to use a hosted server?

    - by markle976
I am in the process of learning as much as I can about LAMP. I was wondering if I should set a web server on my home network, or use a service like Rackspace (cloud space)? I need to have root access, to be able to access it remotely via SSH/FTP/HTTP, and to be able to install things like subversion, etc. I currently have Comcast so I have plenty of bandwidth, but I am not sure if this would violate the TOS, and/or compromise the security of my home network. Pricing for these cloud hosts, seems reasonable ($11 per month plus about $0.10 per GB of bandwidth), but I am not sure if I will have to control I am looking for.

  • Can I run a web site from my home network without jeapordizing other computers on my LAN?

    - by Alchemical
I have a home LAN with 5 computers and a NAS, all connected to a Linksys router which is connected to my Cox cable modem. I'm interested in having one of my computers run an IIS-based web site and to have it be accessible to the internet with a static IP. However, I do not want o jeapordize the safety of the other computers on my home network! Is there anyway to do this safely, or as safe as possible? I may also like to run an FTP server from this computer. Finally, optionally I would like to allow remote access to this computer from the internet--but it seems to me that that may increase the security risk to the other computers substantially.

  • How can I make sftp accounts that can only access their home directory?

    - by LonnieBest
I'm using Ubuntu Server 9.10. I need to setup 6 accounts for users that will exclusively need sftp. When the user logs in, I need them to only have access to their home directory. I don't want them to be able to navigate to any other places in the file system. I need their ability to type commands to be limited to only the commands needed to view and transfer files back and forth to their home directory. Can anyone offer some guidance on setting thing up this way?

  • Multiple Subnets on home network... would this work?

    - by rockinthesixstring
We are looking at renting out the basement suit in our home and want to offer internet as part of the package. I however do not want the downstairs tennent to have access to our network (home office = private data). We currently have a pfsense firewall as our gateway and a Windows Server 2003 box is doing our primary DHCP (192.168.0.0/24) and DNS. Here's what I'd like to do... I'd like to setup another subnet on the DHCP server (192.168.1.0/24), and hook in another wireless router (as access point only) and address it as 192.168.1.1... from there the router will hook into our primary switch and then out through the firewall. Will Server 2003 (If I add a 192.168.1.x/24 IP to the nic) serve DHCP to the devices that connect to the new router, and will it isolate that from our network? Thanks in advance... I'm very new to multiple subnets.

  • Can I install Win 7 Pro with a Win 7 Home Premium disc?

    - by SeanJA
So I got the 64bit Win 7 Pro disc from the Ultimate steal for cheap enough... but I found out that some stuff that I want to run (games mostly... since that is the only reason I keep Windows around...) did not do too well on the 64bit OS. So I have borrowed my friend's install disc, but it turns out that his is only Home Premium rather than Pro which I have a serial for. Can I still just run through the Home Premium install and use my Pro serial number (seems like I should be able to with the whole 'any time upgrade' deal)? Or do I have to go and find a 32bit pro disc to do the install? Are there any hoops that I have to jump through?

  • Hosting a web site at home: ISP Blocking port 80?

    - by tombull89
Hello, I presume this is a better place to put this rather than server fault. I'm interested in setting up a small site to host at home as a "proof of concept" exercise, i.e. to prrove that I know how to do it. I've got a (virtual) server 2003 machine with a site on it, all configured with port forwarding through to 80 on my server. I have a Belkin F5D7634 which I have put my DYNDNS details in but when I try to go to my DYNDNS address it comes up with the page cannot be displayed. My ISP is Carphone Warehouse/AOL and I've been unable to find any information if they block port 80. If they do, can anybody reccomend a home provider that does not block port 80? Regards, Tom.

  • Can't mount home after trying to resize (bad geometry: block count exceeds size of device).

    - by Lynn
This is on a fresh computer (super computer actually). It got to me with 15T on the home mount and 50G on the root. I tried allocating 7T to root and resizing (since I'm putting a local yum repo on this machine as it has no internet access nor will it ever). I tried following the instructions here: Centos 6.3 disk space allocation but something went wrong and the home won't mount again. Instead I get from dmesg | tail: EXT4-fs (dm-2): bad geometry: block count 4294967295 exceeds size of device (1342177280 blocks) df -h nets this output: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root 7.0T 3.6G 6.6T 1% / tmpfs 190G 216K 190G 1% /dev/shm /dev/sda1 485M 38M 422M 9% /boot I didn't have any files on /dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_home. Will simply running mke2fs fix it to be mountable? What sort of options should I run it with. I've never resized volumes before or used mke2fs. I don't want to make this mess worse.

  • How do I share a home printer under Windows if the computer is part of a domain?

    - by Sorin Sbarnea
I do have my work laptop at home and I want to share an USB printer in order to be able to print to it from my MacBook. Currently Windows 7 is refusing to share the printer because the computer is part of a domain and it tells me that I need to join a homegroup in order to be able to do that. Also it tells me that he cannot create this homegroup and this group has to be create by another Windows 7 computer from my network. As you can imagine I do have only one Windows computer on my home network. How can I solve this problem?

  • When using gt5 in my home directory I get a blank page.

    - by MT
When using gt5 in various directories on my system (including my home directory) I get blank results. If I limit the max-depth enough, I get results. For example, in my home directory 'gt5 --max-depth 2' produces a listing, while 'gt5 --max-depth 3' produces a blank page. I've noticed that the temporary html file that gets created in tmp (such as '/tmp/gt5.9035.kJVM08Y9/gt5.html' is a zero-byte file. I can successfully do a du in the same directory (which is what I thought gt5 was using), so I'm not sure what to check?

  • I'd like to archive files from Ubuntu to Windows between two computers on a shared home network

    - by Wabbitseason
I have an old laptop running Ubuntu 9.10 which I use as a LAMP environment for web development, and I have a comfortable, powerful desktop computer with Windows 7 installed on it. These two are connected to a home router so both can access the internet. I have been able to set up Samba so I can mount my Apache home directory so it is accessible from Windows and is mapped as a network drive. What I'd like to do is access some Windows folders from Linux so I could automatically create backups (with cron scripts) of my work to physically different locations on the Windows box. Perhaps at a later time I'd set up a local Subversion repository but I'd love to keep backups of that on the Windows drives too. Using Ubuntu's Places/Network menu I can see my desktop but I'm unable to log in to that despite having created the corrent username and password on Windows. All I can get is the following error message: "Unable to mount location. Failed to retrieve share list from server." What could be misconfigurated?
