    For a project I'm using jqote for templating in JavaScript and HTML generated by MVC 4 with Razor. One would expect the Html.Raw to kick in here but somehow it doesn't. Or Razor wants to HtmlEncode what's in there. The question is: Does anyone have an idea why? Is this a bug or by design? Without the script tags it works. But we need the script tags cause we need to template in JavaScript. Hardcoded it works, but we need to use a variable because this will not always be a template. Without the @if it works, but it's there, we need it.     I have a parent-child relationship between two objects. Parent :has_many :children Child :belongs_to :parent When creating a new parent, in the same controller, I'm creating the child. @mom = Parent.new @child = Child.new @mom.children << @child That all seems to go okay, but this parent has one more attribute - this parent has a favorite child @mom.favorite_child = @child Seems like this should work, except let's say that this is the 61st child in the database, so it gets an ID of 61 (and I know this is happening, because when I check the database, the child record has an ID of 61). For some reason, when I assign the @child to the parent's "favorite_child" attribute, "favorite_child" gets set to "1" - when I need it to be set to "61". Clues?

    I have 6000 data of district, subdistrict. I need to represent this on dependent dropdown. The datamodel is for example; class Location(db.Model): location_name = db.StringProperty() location_parent = db.IntegerProperty() location_parent is reference to key() or id()? Still cannot decide which one is good. When i use key() as reference then using JSON to create jquery dependent drop down. My page loading/query and rendering time the dropdown is quite slow? Can i use key().id() as drop down option value to lighten up the page load? Any better solution for this parent/child reference for the drop down? For example: for the district record/entities the location-parent is null, for sub district record location_name will contain reference to parent district record. Other issue is to reverse geocoding the location to store or display geoPoint (lat,long)? Is google MAP API always find the exact lat,long of specific region boundaries or any error checking for the result?

  • System.Diaganostics.Process.Id Isn't the Same Process Id Shown in Task Manger. Why?

    I'm using c#'s System.Diagnostic.Process object. One of its properties is Id. The Id this produces is not the same as the PID, shown in Windows Task Manager. Why is this? You see, once this process is started. It launches two other unmanaged processes, for which I can't explicitly get IDs for by object property references. I have to search through all processes to find them by process name via System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses(). I'm trying to find a reliable way to kill this process and all associated processes by PID, the one that shows in Task Manager. Is there a better way? I can't just kill all processes with the associated process names, because that might kill other instances of those processes that have nothing to do with my program.

  • How to get ID of EditorFor with nested viewmodels in asp.net mvc 2

    So I have two nested view models, CreditCard - BillAddress. I have a view, "EditBilling", that has EditorFor(CreditCard). The CreditCard EditorTemplate has EditorFor(BillAddress), and the BillAddress EditorTemplate has EditorFor(BillState). The end result is a select list with id "CreditCard_BillAddress_BillState". I need to reference this in javascript, thus need to know the ID. In other situations, with non-nested ViewModels, I have used the following code: $('#<%= ViewData.ModelMetadata.PropertyName %>_BillState') The problem here is that the ModelMetadata.PropertyName property is only aware of the current property, not the parent(s). So I end up with the following: $('#BillAddress_BillState') How does one go about getting the client ID of nested strongly typed helpers? Thanks in advance.
