    there is a form where a user enters a date in [Text4] when users clicks OK, the following code is run: DoCmd.OpenReport "All_Ones", acViewPreview the following is the control source of a textbox on the report [Forms]![By Number]![Text4] for some reason after the report is open, it just sayd #?nameor something like that, meaning that it is an invalid parameter. what am i doing wrong?

  • Using RTL languages with MS Office in Wine 1.4

    I've installed MS Office 2007 in Ubuntu 12.04 using Wine 1.4 with no problems, and it works fine with the English Language. However, I need to use it to work with Arabic and Hebrew, and it doesn't work when I switch to a Hebrew or Arabic keyboard. The typing gets reversed. I saw an earlier post for something similar, but it is closed and I think it was for the earlier Wine 1.3. Supposedly Wine 1.4 has added RTL -- is there a way to get it working?

  • Sharepoint AD imported users are becomming sporadically corrupted, causing us to have to create a new account

    Sharepoint 2007 MOSS with AD imported users. All servers are 2008. ***UPDATE More details in testing. This Sharepoint is in an AD Child domain (clients.mycompany.local), which is sub to the root of the AD tree (mycompany.local). The user is in the parent tree (as are half of the other functional users. I have elevated the user rights to Domain. In looking at the logs, it seems that the Sharepoint server is trying to authenticate them by querying the DC for the clients domain (which is the way it normally works and still works for all existing identically configured users). I think if I could force it to authenticate up to the top domain DC then it would be ok?? I have around 50 users, over the past 2 months, I have had a handful of the users suddenly unable to login to Sharepoint. When they login, they either get a blank screen or they are repropmted. These users are using accounts that have been used for many months, sometimes the problem originates with a password change. In all cases, the users account works on every other Active Directory authenticated resource (domain, exchange, LDAP). In the most recent case, last night I was forced deleted a user ("John smith") because of corruption. The orifinal account name was jsmith. I deleted him from active directory, then deleted him from the profile list in Sharepoint Shared Services. I could not find a way to delete him from the Sharepoint user list, but I reran the import after recreating his account (renamed it too just to be sure to "smithj"). At first, this did not wor, the user could still access all other resources but Sharepoint. then, some 30 minutes later it inexplicably started working. This morning, the user changed passwords, which immediatly broke the login on Sharepoint again. How can I modify this script so that if I run bridge_script --stop, the bridge gets deleted, network manager starts and interfaces behave as if the machine had a fresh reboot.

    One of the arguments against using Open Source is that there is no "support". However, do big vendors (e.g. Microsoft) really offer "support" of any kind? I'm sure there is some sort of 4-figure-per-hour "paid support" option out there, but is that really an "option" for any problem short of one that is going to bankrupt your business? To put it more concretely... I buy a Microsoft product... it has a bug... now what? And how is that better than what I get from Open Source?

    I have updated yesterday to Ubuntu 12.04 but can not access the Internet. It is an old PC without wireless. But the older Ubuntu I had installed up until now (11.??) worked perfectly. I'm not that familiar with Ubuntu, and I have been trying Google for some time know, but I cannot find the answer.     I've been doing a lot of reading these last two days on Microsoft Prism, but the thing I'm still not very sure of is what does the future look like for it? I know that version 4.1 was just released a few months ago, but besides Microsoft's own documentation, I haven't found many blog posts written in the last year on the subject, most of what I find is 2009-2010. It definitely looks interesting but the learning curve seems to be a bit steep and I wouldn't want to embark if it's going to become obsolete in the near future. Anyone has any insight on this?

  • Outlook users connected to exchange can email from other email accounts

    We have found an issue on our systems whereby an outlook user (both 2007 and 2010) connected to our Exchange server (2007) can send emails as other users using the following steps Within Outlook Click <New Email> Select the <From> button to show a list of accounts outlook contains, but it also shows the option Select<Other Email Address>. This brings up a small dialog box with another button which when selected allows the user to select an email from their contacts or the Active Directory. The user in most cases can select any email within the Active Directory and send an email as if it were coming from that selected email. It seems not everyone has this ability and I'm guessing it is something to do with settings in exchange or AD(version 6) or is there a group policy that can be implemented to stop users being able to do this. We have no idea what allows this and I have failed to find anything using Dr Google. No one has setup delegates within outlook but it does seem to be something similar? Does anyone know how to lock this down? Thanks in advance

  • Excel not properly recalculating values

    I have an excel sheet with values in it (this sheet is generated by a custom perl script, but I don't think that's where the problem lies). In it, I have a formula: =sum(indirect(concatenate(address(6,column()),":",address(17,column())))) The purpose of this formula is to give me the SUM() of the cells in the current column, between rows 6 and 17. In Gnumeric Spreadsheet, as soon as I open the file, this works. But in Excel (both 2003 and 2007), opening the file gives #VALUE! errors in the fields with this formula, stating that the INDIRECT call with the values $B$6:$B$17 will result in an error. Here's the kink in the issue. If I edit the field (via F2), and make no changes, and hit enter, the values update. Also, it seems, if I save the file as .xlsx (Excel 2007 format), the values update upon opening. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that creating an xlsx is a possibility with the modules that I'm using, and many of our clients probably wouldn't be able to use it anyway. Any suggestions? Editing 200+ files every month for each client isn't going to be feasible, so if there's something I'm missing, please let me know.

  • Exchange server issues - can't upgrade to SP3 - trying to migrate to Exchange 2010

    Our Exchange server is having a lot of issues. It can't get Windows Updates anymore (error 8000FFFF) and it has a lot of other issues that are all related (Server Manager error - Catastrophic failure exception hresult 8000FFFF). Everything I've read online about it says you pretty much have to re-install Windows to fix it. Because of that, we are going to migrate to a new server running Exchange 2010. I have the new server ready and I was doing the pre-requisite checker and it was complaining that the Exchange 2007 installation wasn't SP2 or newer. I checked and indeed, it is SP1. So I am trying to upgrade the Exchange 2007 installation to SP3, however, it is failing. It is hanging on "Removing Exchange files." I followed these instructions and it's still not working. I can get to the part where you run the upgrade from command line but it starts asking for the exchangeserver.msi file. I point it to where it is located but it keeps asking for it. I am starting to get concerned that I can't upgrade the Exchange server because of the same issues above. My next step is to call Microsoft about the issue because I need to get it fixed however I wanted to check here first.

  • [Word2007] How to showing "only number" in picture cross-reference

    I have many pictures in a document and I reference them very often in text. I don't want to lose the order so I am using Insert - Cross-reference. This opens the cross-reference dialog where I can set Reference type to Picture. For "Insert reference to", there are 5 choices: - Entire caption - List item - Only label and number - Only caption text - Page number, Above/below What I need is a reference that would be inserted like this: [4], and not like this: [Picture 4]; None of these options enable me to do it. Is there any way to make Word 2007 insert a reference to only Caption Number? Note: The document is written in Croatian language which has 7 declension cases, so using "Picture 4" would not be valid in all cases. Actually caption label Picture is set to croatian word "Slika" and when I need to say say "in the picture" I can't because it would be "na Slici 5." and not "na Slika 5." (like Word would make me do). That's why I need to reference only the caption number. Is that possible in Word 2007?

  • .lnk doesn't open, no errors

    I have a shortcut (.LNK) on my desktop to a MS Access database out on a network drive. When I double click that shortcut I get an hour glass for about 10 seconds and then nothing. No errors, no access opening, nothing happens. It appears as if there's not even an MSAccess process running in the background. The file successfully opens from: The Open dialog in Access The commandline "C:\path\to\MSACCESS.EXE C:\path\to\shortcut.lnk" The commandline "C:\path\to\MSACCESS.EXE C:\path\to\whatTheShortcutPointsTo.mdb" The file silently fails to open from: Double clicking the shortcut.lnk Double clicking the mdb file that shortcut.lnk targets At first I thought it had to do with how the link handler operated but the fact that it does the same exact thing when I try to open the mdb directly in explorer makes me think it's an issue with explorer. I've tried restoring, deleting, and recreating the association with the extension. I've tried running MSACCESS.EXE /regserver. I've run out of things to throw at it. In case this is specific to MS Access 2007; I'm trying to use 2007 :)

  • Allowing Sharepoint to relay email through Exchange

    I have written a Sharepoint 2007 web part that sends a field from a form to a specified email address. I have got the form working as I require, but at present it can only send to internal email addresses. Sharepoint's email functions use SMTP to send to our Exchange 2003 server, but because our Exchange server is configured to prevent relaying, if the To: address is not at a local domain, it won't deliver the mail. I don't want to open up our Exchange server to be a completely open relay. What I want is to allow my Sharepoint servers to send mail to addresses outside our domain. The following seem possible: Allow all mail sent from one of the Sharepoint servers to be relayed Allow all mail from a web application pool account to be relayed (I am not sure that the application pool authenticates to the SMTP server though) A combination of the two Can anyone advise on the best way of doing this? Is setting up a dedicated SMTP server on the Exchange server (not a separate physical server) the right way of going about this? EDIT: Note this is for Exchange 2003. There is a post on setting this up in Exchange 2007 which appears to have recognised the frequent requirement to do what I need. It doesn't give much detail on 2003 though. Can anyone expand?

I've saved the project spec as XML and the viewer I'm using needs the parent task Id for each task. Where can i find that in the rather huge amount of XML data created by ms project?

I am trying to validate the fields at ItemAdding event whne a documetn is uploaded , however when EditForm.aspx opens up for editing properties, no events firs.
